The Mas du Marechal is situated right in the centre of the village and has been fully and sympathetically restored, the emphasis having been on keeping the original features of the house intact while also providing you with every comfort and luxury possible. The house has been beautifully decorated, is fully equipped and has 5 double bedrooms with crisp percale bedding, each bedroom having it’s own fresh new bathroom. The house sleeps 10 people comfortably. Small children can additionally be accommodated, totaling a maximum of 14.

The wonderful open plan kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need. It is equipped to please a gourmet cook. The central island is a cook’s dream and the extra seating around the island and in the kitchen area allows for group cooking sessions.

A large airy living area opens onto the garden and shaded terrace, overlooking the sparkling pool. This house is ideal for large family groups or a group of friends.

Mas du Marechal: The Mas du Marechal is situated in the village of Vers Pont du Gard which is in the heart of the Cotes du Rhone wine region. It is also a stone’s throw away from the legionary Pont du Gard, the almost 2000 year old Roman Aqueduct. This is a World Heritage site and is the 3rd most visited site in France after Paris and Mont St. Michel in Brittany.

Vers Pont du Gard: The village of Vers Pont du Gard is a lively working village with mini supermarket which is very well stocked, bakery, pizzeria, a bar that serves simple regional food daily, hairdresser, pharmacy, doctors, dentists, tabac/presse, physiotherapists, aestheticienne, post office, sports club and a pre-primary and primary school. There is also a Relais and Chateaux restaurant as well as a restaurant and caterer in the old station house. A fresh produce farmers market takes place on the square three times a week. A fresh fish van arrives once a week. You can also buy wine directly from the kitchen door of the local vineyard or at the wine co-operative. Food and wine are the main attractions of the area and sublime food markets abound.

Activities: Bicycles can be rented nearby and the surrounding vineyards provide enjoyable and easy rides through flat terrain. Kayaking is also a possible pastime and the Gardon river meanders right underneath the Pont du Gard aqueduct. Swimming in the river is very popular too.

Wonderful hiking and biking routes are all around. Ancient villages dot the gentle rolling hills and are perfect for exploring.

I have stayed with friends and family in over 12 villas over the years and this one is a beauty! One of my top 3 and I would love to return and would recommend it highly to all my travelling friends. It is beautiful and has that WOW factor. This is a villa that is more that the description and pictures depict. The decor and design is stunning. The kitchen has everything... we stayed in for dinner all 6 nights and found every utensil and cooking ware that we needed. We did day trips on most days and ate lunch out but we found ourselfes running back to the villa to enjoy the pool and the outside ameneties. I travelled with my husband and 5 twenty-somethings who enjoyed the relaxation of the villa as they destressed from the hectic jobs. What I loved was that all 5 bedrooms were beautiful, comfortable and comparable, so if 5 couples were travelling together there would be a comparable bedroom and bathroom for each couple. The owner Vivienne was so helpful and so attentive in answering email questions which was much appreciated.

Wonderful!

Mas du Marechal is stunning. The beds are extremely comfortable and we all slept so well. The garden and pool are really lovely and we spent a lot of our time lounging around during the day and sitting around the table in the evening eating, drinking and chatting. The kitchen had everything we needed and all of the rooms were so beautifully decorated with no compromise on comfort. The village is beautiful - we loved the market, the boulangerie and especially La Grange which we visited on several occasions. We had a wonderful lunch at Le Tracteur too. It is a shame that the village supermarket had closed down but we were able to get everything we needed in nearby supermarkets.

We will look back on our week at Le Mas du Marechal with many fond memories

Beautifully decorated, spacious house

This house welcomes you with an atmosphere of hospitality. Our group filled it to capacity, yet we never felt crowded. The common areas provide indoor and outdoor pretty spaces to be -- together for a festive meal or apart for quiet conversation or moments of solitude. Good floor plan. There are steep stairwells and a number of changes in level of flooring inside and out, so I can't recommend this house to anyone with mobility or vision limitations. We encountered some problems with plumbing hardware and a blocked gas line when we first arrived, so we were extremely glad the non-local owner employs expert local help. Dominique and Christophe responded quickly and courteously, assuring that minor problems did not become major difficulties. The cook-top is balky. No complaints about anything else in that kitchen where every need has been anticipated and provided for well. Even ample shopping bags and totes for the nearby recycling bins are at hand. Wonderful pool. Pretty garden. I recommend this house for two families travelling together or for groups of friends.

The little village is blessed to have a great bakery/pastry within an easy stroll. Steps in the other direction lead to a pleasant cafe/bar. I can't imagine a more welcoming spot. We met (and bought from) local artisans, borrowed a guitar, petted the local dogs, drank many a beer and mint lemonade and afternoon espresso. What Vers does not have is a bank or ATM machine, so be sure to do banking transactions in larger towns. We loved the people, the village, and the house.

Second time here. As usual, just sublime!

This was our first time back since our Honeymoon, and we managed to make full use of the space this time...with a 6 month old baby and extended family! In this visit, aside from the too beautiful Uzes and the Pont, we managed trips to St. Remy and Les Baux, where the Carrieres de Lumieres is an absolute must. A day trip to Marseille was well worth the drive. Also the le Pistou Cooking School, in Uzes, and the Uzes Wine School in Collias really gave us the full Provencal experience! Just love it here and will definitely be back.

Simply superb - authentic luxurious Provence

Mas du Marachel was simply the best surprise we have had on a holiday. The mas is restored to perfection, tasteful and equipped with everything one would wish for. The kitchen is a joy and we barely wanted to eat out as cooking in this home is such a treat using the local produce from the magnificent nearby Uzes market and the Les Halles food markets in Nimes and Avignon.No-one has tasted totmaoes and peaches unless one has bought them off the market and enjoyed them in Provence.The veal was simply unparalleled!

No detail has been overlooked by the wonderful interior designer who captures the essence of Provence. The villa comfortably sleeps 10 without sacrificing privacy or comfort. We were only 4 ,so each couple had a wing which was marvellous.There is a wonderful pool and garden which allowed us to wind down outdoors after sightseeing ,until the sun went down near 10 pm! The village of Vers Pont du Gard is charming and quiet and because it is a working village the environment is never touristy. The area affords a week's exploring with ease and we could happily have stayed a second week. The place was spotless and we were welcomed with fabulous flowers and linen and furniture is of the highest standard. We loved Uzes,Nimes,Avignon,Pont du Gard and Vaison La Romaine as well as the nearby village of Castillion du Gard. There are plenty of restaurants to suit every pocket and the Provencal way of life is to be recommended - eat,drink wine, relax and start all over again!

It is easily accesible from Montpellier airport and one does need a car to do the area justice. We will most certainly return to this slice of paradise and I can highly recommend this to others - it is especially suitable for celebrating a family reunion or special occasion as it accommodates a large group so easily. Thank you for sharing this home with us as we have made memories that will last forever!

Luxury in Languedoc

From the moment we arrived we knew we were going to enjoy Mas du Marechal and the surrounding countryside. The house is exceptionally well equipped, spacious and beautifully presented; welcoming flowers on the table, wine in the fridge and basic provisions. The housekeeper was charming and could not have been more willing to help. The location is excellent, the small village shop well stocked and also an excellent baker as well as numerous vineyards. There are many restaurants in the area and historic sites to visit. Every member of the party wanted to stay longer and we look forward to returning.

This property is on the border of Provence, a wine growing valley, situated near Uzes which is the last Duchy of France. We fell in love with Uzes and wanted something nearby. The house is only a stone's throw away from the Pont du Gard which is a World Heritage Site. We love the area as there is so much to see and do.

A large airy living area opens onto the garden and shaded terrace, overlooking the sparkling pool which helps to keeps the Provençal heat at bay. The courtyard garden has a second entry through a gate which gives onto a small impasse, perfect for coming in and out with bicycles or push chairs. The village bakery is wonderful and the new Tapas Wine bar is a must stop for wines, beers, coffee, cakes and light snacks. Musical evenings too... We can arrange for food to be left for your arrival, a local chef to cook for you for special occasions, or musicians to come to the house.
