Jayne Conyerd purchased this villa in 2010
We fell in love with Mallorca nearly a decade ago, and kept coming back, especially to this side of the island. When we finally decided we wanted to retire here, it took us nearly four years to find the perfect house. We knew we wanted to be near the unspoiled market town of Pollensa, but wanted to be far enough out into the country to enjoy the solitude and quiet. When we saw Can Puig for the first time, we both knew it was the one.
We hope our guests enjoy the house when we're not able to be here ourselves, and encourage them to enjoy all the beauty and culture that surrounds them
It was great!! Thanks for follow up. Could use some info on how to run washing machine. We could not figure it out and had to hand wash some items. Jane was GREAT! Will send more if I can think- Fabulous house. All over though the best part of our two week trip. It was a true time to relax and enjoy family. Will send photos :)
We were transported to a sophisticated country experience in Mallorca at this villa, and felt right at home. The villa is impeccably clean, and we felt cared for in traditional style, yet comfortable with all modern conveniences provided (including hair dryer, satellite television, and even Wi-Fi).
We found this villa enchanting both inside and out. From the vine-covered entryway to the expansive back patio with massive table, barbeque, and comfortable chairs to lounge, watch the local wildlife, and get lost in the gorgeous open field view behind the villa.
We found everything we needed to cook, from fresh morning coffee (coffee bean grinder and coffee maker), to full course meals (pots, pans, cutlery, and dining settings). Again, we felt like we were at home—not like some rentals we have tried where things are “pint-sized"—Can Puig offered us a full-sized refrigerator, modern cooking appliances, dishwashing machine, and a fully equipped kitchen.
We also liked the villa’s stone floors and traditional wood shuttered windows, along with the tasteful oversized colorful prints on the large walls.
We visited in a typically cooler season, so cannot comment on the pool. However, we did appreciate the full supply of wood we found indoors for the wood-burning stove (with large extra supply outside) and the plentiful space heaters (necessary in the cooler months) were efficient.
Jayne was great, providing both on-the-spot practical assistance and welcome local tidbits that helped us enjoy our stay to the fullest.
Be sure you read the "Black Book" of information that the owner provides (in the basket in the dining room). It is chock full of good information about places to go and daily life on the island. But also just get out on the island and explore!
We cannot wait to return.
We had such a lovely holiday. Thank you so much!! The location is perfect. We loved Pollensa but it was also wonderful to be just outside of town in the bucolic Mallorcan countryside. The villa is lovely. I'm a big cook and really enjoyed getting local produce -- the wild mushrooms were amazing -- from the local markets and cooking at home. Helped us stay within the vacation budget. Also, great brand new range and oven. The house was heavenly. What a wonderful getaway. (Also, great location from which to launch hiking day trips.) The villa was spotlessly -- thank you. Warm colors, spacious bedrooms and baths, colorful carpets, comfy beds, nice linens and tile floors. All great. Cool in the hot days, and the wood-burning stove was cozy when we built a fire one evening. Satellite TV was a great feature and the Wifi in the house allowed us to work part of the time, a blessing. Loved the big grounds with all the trees. Oh, also loved the dining table and furniture on the outdoor terrace where we ate, read and lounged. While it's got all the amenities of a new home, the traditional-style shuttered windows, tile floors beamed ceilings and local architectural touches give the house traditional character. We were just in heaven. Now that we're back in foggy Seattle, all we do is gaze at our photographs and sign. We can't wait until next year!
Jayne, the onsite agent, was very helpful prior to arrival making our booking run smoothly and even organised baby sitting for us during our stay.
The house is pleasant though we were disappointed that there is no 'garden' or 'grass' at the villa - just the main covered terrace (lovely) a small terrace around the pool and some flower borders. All the remaining outside space is covered in gravel which for us meant it was not space we would sit in or enjoy. The kitchen is realtively basic, especially if you were cooking for a group of 6 (we were only 2 plus baby). Great weber bbq.
We felt so lucky to have found this place! The house we usually hired was booked, so when we saw this new property--the owners had just bought it--we took a chance. After the noise and dirt of London, what a paradise! We wanted utter privacy, and got it plus much more. We loved picking fresh figs and lemons from the trees in the garden and cooking with them. You're so far from the main road that there's no road noise. Yet it's close enough to things that you don't feel isolated. We rented bikes and rode into Pollensa and through the countryside every day. Jayne, the estate agent, is marvelous--she made our stay so easy and went out of her way to make sure we were happy and had everything we wanted. We recommend this property highly!
Perhaps the loveliest holiday we've ever had!
This is an amazing villa. It has it all: You get the privacy and quiet of the country. Yet you're only a 10-minute drive away from Pollensa--one of the most vibrant historical towns on Mallorca! We especially loved sitting on the porch overlooking the exquisite gardens, hills, and valleys of the most beautiful part of the island, sunbathing and splashing in the pool, and then getting dressed up to go to one of the amazing restaurants in town. The house itself is like new: spanking clean and bright, and fully equipped with everything you need for a wonderful holiday. The perfect combination of traditional Mallorcan architecture and modern convenience. Great for families with kids, too! We could sit on the porch and drink sangria while keeping an eye on our children swimming in the pool.
