If you want spacious high specification accommodation in the heart of St Lucia then this might be what you need - whether you want to sail, scuba dive, trek through the rain forests, or simply spend time around the beach and the bars the heart of Rodney Bay this is the place to be. Ground Floor: The spacious open-plan ground floor comprises kitchen, dining room, living room (TV/DVD/iPodDoc) and open air patio plus a well equipped kitchen and laundry room. French doors lead onto a waterfront patio. The view from the patio is of the Rodney Bay Marina with its beautiful array of luxury yachts and sailboats. Bedrooms are on the first and second floors and this is the only house with an additional mezzanine floor. The villa has its own jetty on to The Harbour (great for late night fishing). Gardens are fully landscaped with lush tropical foliage and an outdoor swimming pool . There are cable TV/DVD & iPOD docs in each bedroom, WiFi and A/C on all floors. Maid service: Monday - Friday 9am - 1pm.

About Yvonne Rowland

We are Peter & Yvonne from the UK. No 17 The Harbour is our 2nd home and we love both our house and the island of St Lucia. We have lovingly furnished and equipped our house to a high standard as we want it to feel like home from home for both ourselves and any guests. We have received some great comments from guests and have a number of returning guests. We have three grown up children who also love the house and particularly like the fact that everything in Rodney Bay is within easy walking distance and that there is a great selection of bars, shops, cafes and restaurants.

Why Yvonne Rowland chose Rodney Bay

We have sailed in the Caribbean for many years and of all the islands decided that St Lucia was the most perfect. It is green, volcanic, stunning scenery, full of history and a great sailing destination. The people are also some of the most friendly we have come across in the Caribbean and the choice of restaurants and bars is brilliant.

We chose Rodney Bay as we wanted a property with a private dock for our boat. We also wanted to buy from a reputable builder. We have not been disappointed with either the house or the location - in fact every time we go we like it more!!

What makes this house unique

The house is set behind secure electric gates giving beautiful tranquility overlooking the Harbour but is still in the centre of the resort so has great access to all amenities. The house is convenient for walking to the supermarket, shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, beach plus taxis are readily available if you want to explore further afield. Hire cars are also available close by but are generally unnecessary. Water Taxis will come to the dock in front of the house making transfer to the Marina, Pigeon Island, The Landings etc very easy. There are only 25 houses/apartments on the complex and often many are unoccupied so the pool and gardens are quiet.

Fantastic property......so comfortable!

What a perfect vacation.....location is everything and this property receives a “10”. Shopping, nightlife, the beach......all within walking distance.

The accommodations were better than what the pictures showed.

We are already planning our return!,

Comfortable and spacious apartment

The overall stay in this apartment was very good. We have over the years have rented many villas and apartments, but I would have to rate this as one of the best, especially as it was a reasonable price and in a quite but central position.

All rooms are large and comfortable, with a lovely view over the harbour. Esther the housekeeper was absolutely brilliant as stated in previous reviews and couldn’t do enough for you. On our arrival Esther had made some rum punch for us which was her own recipe, talk about drinkable, it was the best rum punch ever.

When we did have a problem with one of the air cons on our first night, it was promptly fixed the following day.

Our only downside was that a lot of the bars and eating places were closed especially along the road that runs alongside Reduit beach. Could have something to do with the hotels that are in that part of Rodney Bay not having many holiday makers so the trade is not there for the local bars. Having said that, all the bars and restaurants in the heart of Rodney Bay where the apartment is are open. This did not detract from our very relaxing holiday in a very good holiday home.

Beautiful Island and even more beautiful home

We stayed at The Harbour for a week on our Honeymoon and had an amazing time. The accommodation was top quality and the house keeper and concierge were more than helpful. Having only a short walk to the beach and access to the pool made lazy sunny day all the better. There are many restaurants in the area and didn't have a bad experience at any we visited. We would recommend anyone to stay here and will be returning in the future.

Paradise :-)

We have just spent 14 perfect days & nights at the very well appointed 3-storey town house at The Harbour in the heart of Rodney Bay Village. The location couldn't have been better - easy access to beach, shops, bars, restaurants from the rear of the house and beautiful waterside peace and tranquility from the front. The house had everything we needed and is very well furnished and we were looked after superbly by Esther the housekeeper. The house is located on a small well maintained, secure, gated complex with beautiful gardens, pool and car parking. If you are looking for self catered accommodation in St Lucia look no further.

Beautiful property in a fantastic location

The house is amazing and although set in the heart of town, it is in a private, gated compound and therefore very quiet. The back of the house looks out onto a garden and then straight onto the water, meaning amazing access for boats and paddleboards.

Esther the housekeeper was wonderful, always looking after the house (and us) and giving us local tips and insights.

Wonderful property!

Such an amazing place!

Great Location, in a quiet harbour with beautiful views from the gardens and balconies but moments from the restaurants and amenities of Rodney bay.

The House its self is huge and beautiful. It has 3 huge ensuite bedrooms and is tastefully decorated throughout. There is a lot of space and its a very relaxing place to be.

Booking was easy and Yvonne was so helpful. We were greeted by the lovely Esther who couldn't have been more helpful during our holiday.

Everything was better than described and I would highly recommend this property. We would love to go back!

The island is 238sq (616sqkm), 27 miles long, 14 miles wide with a combination of high mountains, forests, low lying lands and beaches. A central mountain range runs the length of the island, with peaks ranging between 1000 and 3145 feet. Forests dominate the mountains, while jasmine, scarlet chenille and wild orchids provide splashes of colour to the lush green slopes. The two towering volcanic cones on the SW coast, Gros Piton (797m) and Petit Piton (750m) are one of the Caribbean’s most famous landmarks. Coast/Beach:

The famous Reduit Beach is pure paradise; soft golden sand facing West into the calm, warm Caribbean Sea usually offering its gentle sea breeze. The sunset's are stunning and the water is warm all year round. The island is a treasure trove of beautiful and unspoilt beaches and coves - explore by land and/or sea. There’s also lots to do if you’re the adventurous type. You can explore on foot, by mountain/quad bike, or even on horseback. Taxis, hire cars and day trips are all readily available.

Travel:

There are 2 airports. The smaller domestic airport is about 15 mins by car. The international airport is in the south of the island and about 1 hour 20 mins by car, the drive is quiet, scenic and and provides a breathtaking introduction to the island. Alternatively helicopter transfers are available. Time difference, GMT -4 hours. BA & Virgin both operate direct flights from the UK. There is no need for a hire car when staying at the villa unless you want to explore further a field.

Distances:

The villa is just off the main road parallel to the beach. The shops and supermarkets are within 200 yards and the bars and restaurants are along the main road. The beach is a 10 minute walk away. The Marina with its bars and restaurants is 5 mins by either land or water taxi. Rodney Bay has a wide choice of bars and restaurants with live music and plenty going on. Pigeon Island is 10/15 mins by land/water taxi. The capital, Castries is about 15/20 minutes by car/taxi depending on traffic.

Further Details:

The yacht marina on the other side of the Harbour has a cluster of shops, cafes, bars and a bank (with ATM). It is easy to hire a quality car (although not necessary as all local amenities are within walking distance) - a temporary driving licence is obtained from the police station. Water Taxis can be arranged to pick you up from the Villa to take you to the famous Pigeon Island heritage resort and beach. The Villa is no-smoking indoors however ash trays are provided for use on the patio/garden.
