If you wish to rent the guest tower as well it sleeps two people amd has its own bathroom. The house and pool have spectacular views of the whole Val di Chiana and thanks to its position and with 60 acres of land privacy is guaranteed. The house is full of books you are welcome to borrow during your stay. The famous town of Cortona with its summer festivals, concerts and excellent restaurants is 15 minutes away. Supermarkets and a petrol station are available within a 15 minute radius. Camucia’s railway station (Rome-Florence-Milan) is 20 minutes away allowing for easy day trips to the area’s most famous towns - Montepulciano, Siena, Montalcino, Pienza, Florence, Perugia, Assisi. About The Owner

We are am Anglo-Italian-American couple and have lived in Italy for decades. The house has been in the family since the Sixties and is a greatly loved family home. We continue to make improvements as the years go by both to the gardens amd the house. The pool has been built respecting the natural layout of what was a pond and has spectacular ever-changing views.

The Owner purchased this villa in 1972

Why The Owner chose Cortona area

Because the private road guarantees peace and quiet, the evenings are cooler than in town and the pool is set in special position . This is a real home from home and rented only in the spring and summer. We are prepared to be flexible when possible to and adapt to your flight dates. We do not request reviews as we value your privacy as much as our own! This is a real Tuscan farmhouse built around 200 years ago surrounded by lots of land.

What makes this villa unique

We love the amazing ever-changing views and the wildlife, sometimes we are even lucky enough to see the deer and foxes that visit at night! In winter there is snow at times and with the heating full the house is warm and comforting even in a gale. The privacy is wonderful thanks to the private road in spite of Cortona being so close. We are very happy living here, slowly working on always improving the gardens and landscaping other areas while working from home. The pool is lit for hot summer nights and very romantic!

A unique and wonderful place

  • 5 of 5

This was an amazing place to, all 5 of us loved it. Stunning views from the top of the hill, lovely and breezy to take away the heat of the day. Francesca and Eugene were great hosts, setting us up, answering all our questions but staying right out of the way too. The drive up and down the hill was great fun, but it was also a very steep track, so just be aware. The area around was of course beautiful; Cortona is a lovely surprise, Montepulciano wasn't far, there's Pienza, Siena was fine, even Florence was an easy day trip.

We had a fantastic holiday, our hosts were brilliant, it's a unique place - I can't recommend it highly enough.

Genuine Tuscan experience with generous dimensions in and out. Peaceful place, excellent hosts.

  • 4 of 5

My family of 4 enjoyed the peace and quiet of this wonderful location offering magnificent views, memorable walks and access to Cortona. The challenging drive 'up the hill' is worth it!

An ideal location and genuine Tuscan experience for us, especially when sandwiched between stays in the equally stunning San Gimigagno and Florence. Although there is plenty of space inside the house - especially perhaps in the 3 main bedrooms - we especially enjoyed the extensive outside spaces that included a lovely pool area.

Our excellent hosts Francesca and Eugene were interesting, friendly and very helpful.

We like to think we have made some new friends.

Relaxing and quiet stay

  • 4 of 5

very nice house on top of a hill- good pool and water remained refreshing despite the high air temperatures. Fantastic view. We had a wonderful stay- lots of nice villages/cities/lake to visit in the area.

A splendid holiday house

  • 5 of 5

We have spent 2 weeks at this perfect holiday location. It is absolutely quiet, situated in the middle of nature, and you have a splendid view over the valley.

The house was restored in an authentic Italian way. All necessary comfort is present. The garden is big, and there are a lot of nice locations in the shadow. The nice swimming pool is integrated in the garden in a very natural way.

The access road is not so easy for a fully loaded car. On the other hand: this road is a perfect challenge for mountain bikers !

Paix, nature et vue imprenable dans une maison typique de la Toscane

  • 5 of 5
