About D Watmough

My lisa, daughter and I always wanted a home from home, somewhere to relax, away from the rat race life we tend to lead. Hence choosing Italy, but more so Puglia and its tranquile setting.

Our daughter is now 19 and still loves to come on holiday with us and chill, please may it continue.

D Watmough purchased this villa in 2007

Why D Watmough chose San Vito dei Normanni

A get away from the hectic life we lead here in manchester UK

What makes this villa unique

The benefits of our villa is the quietness, relaxation surrounding you. 30min walk into the town to visit restaurants, bars etc or just relax at the villa by the pool with a lovely glass of vino, watching the sun set sat on the terrace.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Nice and calm, peace of heaven

  • 4 of 5

Even if the pool is a bit small as first impression, we really enjoyed it, very practical close to the terrace, the house is well equipped, air co very useful. Location perfect and calm, near to beautiful places to visit and beaches.

Great stay.

Great Villa nice area

  • 5 of 5

We had a bit of a bad start to our holiday but the villa was great and pool although small a bonus. Tina and Richard (the agents) very helpful. The location is very rural so you would need a car. Some very nice and interesting places around.

Great family base if you have a car

  • 4 of 5

The house was clean, spacious and well equipped. The air conditioning was vital in July with temperatures regularly over 40?C. The kids loved the plunge pool (the grown ups weren't averse to a dip either). The local beaches at Torre Pozelle and Torre Guaceto were refreshingly free of the regimented rows of rented beach loungers and umbrellas that cover so much of the Italian coastline. Some lovely local restaurants in nearby Carovigno. You'll need a car to benefit from this house, it's not within walking distance of any nearby towns. The local council has put in place a very complicated rubbish collection system, which involves putting out a different bin every night. It flummoxed us. Overall: great base for a family holiday providing you have a car.

The beautiful beaches along the Adriatic coast all within 20 mins drive from the villa.

Puglia has the longest coastline of any Italian region, and close to Ceglie there are beautiful sandy beaches and quiet rocky coves, lapped by the clean blue waters of the Mediterranean.

Brindisi Airport is a 15 minute drive away. Bari Airport 1 hour away. Car essential to explore all there is to see in Puglia

San Vito Dei Normanni town centre 10 mins away. Ostuni (White City) 15mins away, all with great restaurants and shops. Aberobello 45 mins away is a must to see with its Trulli's (cone shaped buildings). Visit the local zoo safari and waterworld in Fasano 45 mins away. All distances are approx.

Further Details:

Puglia is a beautiful area to visit with lots to see and do. Many local markets and hypermarkets, banks, fresh fruit and vegetable stalls within San Vito itself to sample the local produce.

Numerous restaurants to sample the delicious Italian cuisine. Fantastic panoramic views all within easy driving distance from the villa.

If you are looking for something authentic, very Italian; have you been searching for something charming and different, then Puglia is for you. It is a land of extraordinary colours and wonderful variety. Here you will find an undulating plateau of rich red earth, dark green pine-forested hillsides, silvery green olive groves and lush vineyards; sparkling white labyrinths of towns with historic centres which seem to glisten in the sun; grey and natural hues of the Baroque churches and ancient castles; and all against a backdrop of blue Mediterranean sea and sky."

Within a short drive, there is the World Heritage site at Alberobello, the white hilltop towns of Cisternino, Ostuni and Locorotundo, the bustling town of Martina Franca known for its lively 'passieggiata', and the Baroque city of Lecce.

The climate is typically Mediterranean, with long hot summers (averaging 30oc), mild winters (averaging 15oc), and the lowest rainfall in the country.

Puglia produces more wine and olive oil than any other part of Italy, the reds and whites having a gentle, easy-drinking quality, and the olive oil rated as some of the most palatable in the world. The food is rich and varied, based as it is on fresh local vegetables, meat and seafood, pasta and cheeses.

We can also provide a meet & greet service at Brindisi Airport for an additional cost, Our agent will meet you & guide you to the villa, show you around & be on hand to deal with any unfortunate issues that might occur.

Should a welcome pack of supplies be required, these also can be supplied for an additional cost.

Now, picture yourself enjoying all of this from our villa.
