Luxury Converted Chapel in Trawsfynydd, Snowdonia, Wales - Within the Snowdonia National Park

Capel Bethel was last used as a Chapel in 1982 and had been unused and unloved until we started the conversion which was completed early in 2006. It is a fantastic property set over three floors and offers spacious and flexible accommodation for a large family or number of families. Trawsfynydd is located within the Snowdonia National Park and is within easy driving distance of Porthmadog, Portmerion Italianate Village, Ffestiniog Railway, Llechwedd Slate Caverns and Harlech Castle. The fantastic beaches at Cardigan Bay and the Lleyn Penisula are nearby. There is a good selection of shops within the village and pubs serving food close by.

Really good location for seeing beautiful north wales, Clean, comfortable and spacious, with everything you need. Well equipped kitchen with lovely table we could all sit round and play games .

Little shop nearby for milk and groceries, even managed to buy a fantastic dinosaur for an Easter gift!

And best of all no WiFi so we all had to chat, laugh and communicate with each other!

We thought the chapel was great as there were 12 of us varying in ages...loads of room!

The kitchen is lovely and spacious with the open plan dining room and snug great for all being together. The mezzanine is a great addition children in 1 area and adults in another but u can keep an eye on them and still feel together. It's in a beautiful part of Snowdonia only about an hour from Llanberis if u want to walk up Snowdonia which we did. I would say it that the chapel needed a bit of TLC it did look a bit tired as if it needed a bit of freshening up but that's just being a little picky. But the beds did let it down. The mattresses left a lot to be desired and realise its rented accomadation therefore the beds are slept in by many and various peoples but u could feel every spring in the mattress, even the children complained about not being able to sleep, which was the only downside to it really. Thank goodness we only stayed 3 nights don't think we could have coped any longer being sleep deprived. Other than that we did enjoy our long weekend away it's a lovely house and great if u want to rent somewhere that a large number of family or friends can be together.

Perfect for a family get together to celebrate my dad's 60th. Plenty of family space and also space to have 5 minutes away from it all ;-) house had everything you could need. Village lovely and plenty to do in the area from walking to zip line with a short ride in the car. Would recommend

Great place to stay in for a long weekend!

We loved our stay over the bank holiday, and the place was a fantastically renovated church. Beautiful space, and located close to some lovely walks. The hosts are very helpful, and when one of us left a passport, it was quickly retrieved and sent via post. Thank you!

Family gathering

Needed a property to sleep a big family group at short notice. Plenty of room for all of us. Great bathrooms and well equipped kitchen.

Only negatives, needing to bring your own towels which is not mentioned until after booking and having to put on your own sheets (odd).

Other than that very good value and ideal for a large family group.

Excellent stay for large family group

The layout is perfect for family get togethers or large groups of friends. The social spaces are perfect for a get away from it all gathering, there is a small t.v. if children feel the need, no Wi-Fi so a back to basics weekend which was a refreshing change. Fab setting too.
