Fab villa

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Leo & Isa's villa for 11 days. Nothing is too much trouble for Leo and is always available to answer any questions or queries you may have. The villa is situated between Frigliana and Nerja and a car is essential you are not near the road to jump on a bus and walking to either is not on option.

The villa is spotlessly clean and the furniture is basic but very comfortable.

It was fab to be able to sunbathe either next to the house or on the roof top terrace with views of the mountains or down towards the sea.

The pool is a great and there is nothing better than on a beautiful warm day being able to cool down in this good sized pool. Which is cleaned by Leo every 3 days.

The only issue we had was the shower does not stay warm and is not powerful an electric shower may be a better option to be fitted.

It is a great place to stay and we will definitely be booking to go back

Lovely villa, lovely owners

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for two weeks at this peaceful villa. The owner, Leo, is such a nice man. He took us out in his car to show us the local area and gave us suggestions for good places to visit and to eat. He answered texts immediately and came round whenever we had a query. Nothing was too much trouble for him.

The villa is quite basic (it is not a new-build full of mod-cons), but is all the better for that, we think, as the layout felt authentically Spanish. It is clean and well cared for. The kitchen is well equipped for making meals at home, and we used the built-in barbecue most evenings. One of us was ill for much of the holiday and had to rest, and for this the villa was ideal. The garden has lovely shaded areas as well as places in full sun for those who wish to bask. The pool was a great asset.

A favourite spot was the roof terrace from where there are fantastic views up to Frigiliana and the mountains in one direction, and down to Nerja and the sea in the other. Once darkness fell we lay on sunbeds on the roof terrace and gazed at the night sky. It was so dark that the stars were amazingly clear.

We think that a car is essential as the villa is too far from shops, restaurants, clinics(!) etc to walk; however all essentials are within five minutes or so by car.

Negatives? None. really, but we did miss having Wi-fi, although the mobile phone signal was strong (as everywhere in the area) so we weren't completely out of contact with the greater world. However, no Wi-fi meant we weren't able to look up places to go, opening times etc. But that may be less important to other guests.

All in all, this is a lovely villa in an out-of-the-way, peaceful spot and we can thoroughly recommend it.

Everything we wished for!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 2 year old daughter and I had a truly wonderful stay at Leo and Isa's villa. We were looking for a relaxing, secluded villa with a pool and that's exactly what we got. The villa is lovely, with everything you could possibly need, although we spent most of our time on the veranda and in the pool. The area is beautiful and Leo was extremely helpful. We will definitely be going back!

Romantic and private place

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this delightful house first time last year in August and come back this year in July. It`s a charming property where we found a nice, clean, traditional however modern house with beautiful `naya`, top roof terrace, pool, and verry valuable privacy and silence This property is idealy located between mountain and sea, the views from the terrace are magnificent. Acces road OK and short drive to the coast and Nerja city with it`s shops, supermarkets, restaurants and fine beaches.

The owners, Isabel and Leopoldo, are beautiful people for whom nothing is too much trouble. We stayed here for two weeks and seriously thinking about coming back really soon.

Lovely break

  • 4 of 5

We booked this place as it was near to family who live in the area and our first impressions were made by the lovely couple who met us and took us up to the house. They were both so friendly and happy to help in any way. They even left us wine, olives and snacks as a welcome gift. Leo cleaned the pool and tidied the garden one day and he was so quiet and unobtrusive we didn't even know he was there!

It was, as expected , quite basic in terms of decor and but very typically Spanish. We loved the outside space and spent most evenings outside until 9 or 10 pm( we were very lucky to have great weather for the time of year but it did get much cooler at night.) The roof terrace has a spectacular view down to the local town, Nerja. Very impressive.

To be very honest, I would have preferred a more modern bathroom, the shower was rather temperamental, but there were no surprises as the images are pretty accurate. Also, we were a little too far away from Frigliana to walk at night, there is busy road to tackle, and without a car shopping can be a challenge.

However, being slightly off the beaten track meant peace and quiet, and as the purpose of this holiday was to relax from a hectic job, it met our expectations. With older children, we were on holiday with our 16year old teenage boy, the walks were fine but for younger children it might be too far. A map of the area and the best route down to Nerja would have saved us a number of 'diversions!'

The avocado farmers next door found us fascinating... They came as close as they could to the fence for an hour or so of seed planting a few times! You might want to make sure you are decent before stepping boldly half naked into that pool!

Great little vacation home

  • 4 of 5

A friend and I stayed here for two weeks with her son (and a son's friend), both aged 9. It's a beautiful, rustic little vacation home, very private and quiet. The owners were very helpful and came to tend to the pool and the grounds during our stay - not intrusive at all, especially as they brought lots of grapes and fruit for us.

The villa itself is not the most modern but it has everything you could ask for and, to us, it meant more being authentic rather than all mod-cons. We spent all our time by the pool so it didn't bother us.

I would have given this 5 stars if it had not been for the fact that there is no air conditioning. Given we were there in August, this was challenging to cope with in such heat, even with the fans in the bedrooms. I think this would be one addition the owners should consider as it's a big factor when looking to holiday in the Med in July and August.

All in all, a wonderful find and we hope to return one day.
