The cottage is in the heart of Crackington Haven with stunning sea and rural views. It is full of character with an original slate floor which has underfloor heating,beams and a wood burner. Downstairs the cottage is open plan with a new,stylish kitchen, sitting and dining area. The kitchen has a dishwasher, hob and oven, microwave, Belfast style sink and fridge freezer. The sitting area has views to the front courtyard framed by sixteenth century barns and the rear patio doors leads on to a safe and secluded garden with views down to the sea from the garden. Upstairs has two beautifully decorated and designed bedrooms. One double bedroom with twin bedrooms in the second bedroom. The cottage is presented to a very high standard throughout and is well maintained and kept throughout the year. The cottage is lovely to stay in all year with each season offering something special. About Tim Mercer

Tim Mercer works in London and lives with his wife, Samantha and two children in Wimbledon. Tim spent the first 20 years of his life in North Cornwall and has many happy childhood memories of the beautiful beach at Crackington Haven.

Why Tim Mercer chose Cornwall

We bought the cottage to be near to family in Cornwall, to use as a home for family holidays and for surfing with our two young boys.

What makes this cottage unique

Naturally I am biased but I do believe the bay at Crackington is one of the most beautiful on the Cornish coast and an absolute delight for children. The cottage is gorgeous and in a great location for exploring all of Cornwall. Rain or shine, we always leave feeling refreshed and rested.

What a super base to escape and explore. A very cosy cottage thanks to the underfloor heating and long burner, even in February. We managed to see and do a lot in between the Spring showers. The information which the owner sent us in advance was very helpful in making the most of our stay. We loved the walk down to the beach and timed it so that we had Sunday lunch at the pub on the beach and then walked back to the cottage in our own time. We would definitely recommend this place!

Location

Coast/Beach:

Crackington Haven has a lovely, safe beach which is flanked by dramatic cliffs on each side. It has a number of rock pools to explore, is great for surfing and swimming. It takes 1 minute to drive to the beach and is roughly a 20 minute walk.

Travel:

Nearest airports are Newquay and Exeter. It is a one hour drive from Plymouth Port.

Distances:

20 minutes drive to Bude, Padstow and Camelford. One hour's drive to the Eden project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Notes on accommodation: The property is highly suitable for children with many special facilities for children including cot, changing mats, bath mats, sun tents, games, blenders, children's cutlery plates and cups. Recently refurbished to a very high standard. Outside: The cottage has a safe and secluded garden with a stunning raised patio with views to the sea. There is a barbecue, outdoor furniture, sun chairs and plenty of outdoor games for children. There is also a front garden and enclosed courtyard. Cleaning / Linen / Maid service: Linen is included but towels are not. The property is cleaned every week.

Snug in a tempest

I felt very at home here and would recommend the cottage for its comfort and for everything Tim has provided to make it warm and inviting. The property is intimate and set in an unspoiled part of England that connects with your soul. And the kitchen is modern, so up to date, in fact, that I couldn't get the hob working, but Tim sent me masses of information as well as his father- in- law to help out. The area is somewhat remote and the winds howled at night and it rained and, while I would have preferred at least one sunny day, I was not disappointed in my choice of places to stay. Crackington Haven, the cliffs and coastal walk, are spectacular. Debora Graves U.S.

Superb stay

The cottage was the perfect getaway we were looking for. Very comfortable and quiet.

We had 3 sunny warm days and enjoyed these visiting some of the many pretty interesting villages.

A must is the walk to the waterfall at St Nectans even my 8 month pregnant daughter made the steep walk up and said it was worth it.

We will return to this part of Cornwall after falling in love with it.

Clean, quaint,country-side,romantic.

This cottage was in a beautiful part of Cornwall. Walks along the cliffs as well as many beaches to visit. The kitchen had everything you needed. The bed was very comfortable. The garden was a delight with a long view of the sea.

Tim was a great help when we booked with many different places to visit.

The bonus was the general store was right next door especially if you have had a long drive.

We would love to visit again and will certainly recommend this property.

Beautiful cosy cottage

This lovely cottage was perfect for our cosy weekend away. It is Ideally located for walks and dining out (in particular I highly recommend the Boscastle farm shop and also Coombe Barton inn) but also provides everything you need to stay in and read in front of the fire all day. The post office next door was very handy for matches and delicious local bacon. Although it's not detached we didn't hear a thing from any neighbours and it is such a peaceful setting in general, a venture down to the bottom of the garden to see the sea and sunset was definitely worth it even in the cold of an English January. Prior to arriving we received lots of helpful information from Tim which was very much appreciated. Overall I would highly recommend!
