Chalet Freya is a luxury, self catered chalet completed in the traditional Alpine style. It is conveniently located just 8 minutes walk from the centre of Nendaz and just 200m to the free ski shuttle bus. It's 220sqm are arranged over 3 floors and the chalet is furnished to a very high standard throughout. The floor to ceiling windows on 2 of the floors offer simply stunning views over the Rhone valley. Underfloor heating and a traditional log fire ensure cosy nights in the winter. For the skiers there is a heated boot warmer, ski rack and a sauna to ease away the days exertions. Within the town you will find many bars, restaurants and shops as well as child care facilities, a swimming pool and a children’s playground. The town is an excellent starting point to explore the Four Valleys region covering Verbier, Siviez, Thyon, Versonaz, Les Collons and Mont Fort at 3300m. With over 400km of marked pistes there are plenty of challenges for all levels of skier.

About the Owner

Our chalet is a much loved family holiday home where we spend loads of time in winter and summer. We have two children and a Granny and we all ski. We love our home comforts when we are there so the beds are from the UK and are the same as we have at home. Apart from the usual IKEA plates and bowls, the rest of the kitchen equipment is the same standard as I have in my UK home. We love Nendaz as a town and community. We know many people now and its great to bump into people getting on the lifts or meet up in the summer and walk or mountain bike together. Our Granny not only loves her skiing and walking but also golf too. We're pleased she has so many reasons to come out to the chalet with us. (Our kid's Granny, my mother-in-law, I'm lucky we get on so well!)

Perfect Chalet Freya

The property is located in a very 'smart' road of similar very well kept substantial chalets. The location itself is very convenient and the walk into town is a few minutes where you will find great restaurants, bars and shops. The chalet itself is very thoughtfully designed and this becomes very evident when returning from a day on the mountain. The boot room is big with well thought out storage and even a heated boot drying rack big enough for every guest to use . Everything can be left tidy and with enough room for everyone's gear it means the next day you find it fresh and ready to go. The owners clearly are very organised people who understand how important it is to be able to put all of your clobber on easily and then do the reverse at the end of the day with ease.

Going upstairs to the accommodation you find a large kitchen/dining area with breathtaking panoramic views across the valley. It was amazing in the snow. I'd love to see timing the summer also!!

As a cook I found the kitchen's ergonomics very good and it was great to cook whilst socialising with friends in the same space. The kitchen is very well equipped and all of the equipment is new and worked perfectly.

Upstairs again and the living accomodation is spacious and well appointed again with magnificent views and a log burner to get the cozy look on winter evenings. Not actually needed for heat as the chalet is supper warm.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and well appointed making our recovery hours very comfortable and ready for another day in the mountains. The skiing is the best I've ever known and of you are not familiar with the area I suggest you give it a go. All Levels of expertise will be very well catered for and at those all important pit stops the bars and restaurants are surely some of the best on the plannet and surprisingly not bank breakers either.

Stunning chalet with stunning views

A beautiful chalet that is so well equipped and comfortable it really is home from home. Spotlessly clean with stunning views and top quality fixtures and fittings. We couldn't recommend Chalet Freya highly enough - would happily stay there regularly, it has everything a family or a group of friends could need. We have stayed there in winter and summer now and there is so much to do in the town all year round. If you can tear yourself away from the unbelievably well equipped kitchen at the chalet then make sure you eat at La Cabane, it's amazing, and only a short walk away from the chalet. The layout of the chalet is fab, especially having so many bathrooms, but the view is something you could never tire of, it's so beautiful. Hoping to go back again in March if it's available, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Perfect! The chalet is beautifully maintained, clean, well thought out with everything for boot warmers to stunning views! All mod cons... I can't recommend it highly enough. Great restaurants in the village and on the mountains, great skiing for all standards.

Location

From the Owner

Our chalet was built from scratch on an amazing piece of land with a great view. We know Nendaz through a friend who runs Montagne Magique ski school in town. At first we thought we'd use it just in the winter but quickly realised what a great summer holiday it is too. We tend to drive down but we fly in for weekends and the transfer is quick. The Swiss trains are reliable and it's only 25mins up to resort level from Sion. Nendaz is still a small resort which is great. We now have an outdoor and indoor swimming complex in the centre of town, Nendaz Four Valleys Hotel, which is lovely. We've also done some day trips and over night trips to other resorts, Grimentz, Overnaz, Crans, Saas Fe to name a few. I still think we'll be discovering in 10 years time.

Car: not necessary

Location of Chalet:

The road is privately owned and therefore the Satellite view shows the road but the map view does not.

Travel:

Geneva is the closest airport. The train goes directly from Geneva to Sion and takes 2 hours. The transfer up to resort and to the chalet takes 25mins.

Distances:

Unlike many chalets in Nendaz, Chalet Freya is a walk into town so you can enjoy a great night out in Nendaz and after approx 8 mins down hill you'll be back to the chalet!

Further Details:

The chalet is an ideal base for summer alpine activities including, walking the bisses, hiking, mountain biking (downhill, freeride, cross-country all on marked trails, additionally guiding can be arranged), parapente, climbing wall, tennis and outside swimming pool all within 500m of the chalet. The Rhone valley has numerous thermal baths and wellness centres ideal for families. The valley is also famous for it's many wine producers.

Changeover Day:
Sunday, departure before 10am, arrival not before 4pm is the usual but can be flexible.
Although the chalet can sleep 12 with the use of the sofa bed we prefer to rent to two families or 10 adults.

Booking Notes:
To confirm a booking, 50% deposit is required. The balance is to be paid 6 weeks before the start of the holiday along with a £500 damage deposit. Rates are subject to change.

Our chalet has the most amazing view. It's a view you never get tired of, there is always something else to notice and we love how it changes through the seasons. Our Chalet is 8/10min walk into town. On a clear night walking back after a night out in town is great.
