If you are looking for a relaxing comfortable home-from-home Provencal style villa with stunning views over the hills to the village, then this villa will meet your expectations. You can enjoy the peace of the countryside, yet 5 minutes walk to the charming Saracen hilltop village of La Garde Freinet with its twice weekly markets and good choice of restaurants and local shops. St Tropez and the coast are only 20 kms as are some of the best beaches and coastal walks. The house is set on the upper terrace of an old vineyard, facing south and south-west. There is easy access to the house from the lane with ample parking. Good walking to be had along quiet wooded tracks close by. Well furnished with antique and contemporary furniture, our spacious accommodation is light and airy with Provencal character. Free Wi Fi. You can enjoy sun until sunset dining at al fresco in the terraced gardens and swim late into the night with garden and pool lights setting off the chestnut and cork oak trees.

Famtastic

This house was perfect. It has absolutely everything you could possibly want/need - it's just like being at home (but warm and sunny!). The property is well maintained and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. It's just as shown in the photographs.

It's a pleasant walk into town where there are several very good restaurants. Twice weekly market in town which was great for fresh fruit and veg.

Paul, the manager, is very friendly gave us lots of useful information and tips on places to visit (Gorges du Verdon - it's a long drive but well worth it).

We had a very enjoyable two weeks here - had some great days out and great days just chilling by the pool.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to friends and family.

Perfect Villa in perfect location

The villa is just as described, well equipped in an excellent location. It was in a very good state when we arrived and the welcome pack was perfect. It was very hot when we were at the villa and the walk to the village whilst shaded was a bit tiring. It is about 25mins round trip to get the morning bread. The local caretaker was very good but not at all intrusive. The markets in the village are fine as are the local shops. We thoroughly recommend it.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

St Tropez and the famous Pampellone Beach with Club 55 is 20km away. Sainte Maxime with a variety of beach restaurants and bars can also be found 20km away. Port Grimaud and its' brightly coloured, moorish influence houses is approximately 30 mins drive. Some beaches are busy and provide bars, restaurants, watersports and beach showers whilst others are quieter, especially out of the main season. Most beaches have lifeguards on duty.

Travel:

La Garde Freinet is about 25 minutes drive from the Le Luc exit on the A8 motorway. Toulon (Hyeres) airport is about 50 minutes away and Nice and Marseille airports are equidistant about 1 hour 15 minutes away, approx 80km. The TGV station with connection to Marseille, Nice, Paris and London is Les Arcs, 35 mins by car. A car is recommended. Airport transfers can be arranged with us.

Distances:

The delightful village of La Garde Freinet is a 5 min walk. Grimaud with it's hilltop castle and stunning views is 7km. Ste Maxime with beaches, Aqualand, shops and restaurants is 20km. Also 20km away is St Tropez with it's beaches and array of restaurants and bars. Cogolin and La Foux have large supermarkets and are about 15km. The breathtaking Gorge du Verdun is approx 1hr 30min drive away. For skiing enthusiasts, Isola 2000m is situated north of Nice about 3 hours drive from the villa.

Further Details:

La Garde Freinet offers a good choice of restaurants and local shops including bakers, butchers and hairdressers. There is a market held on Sundays and Wednesdays mornings providing fresh produce and local crafts. The village also provides a supermarket, post office and a bank with ATM. In addition there is a pharmacy, 2 doctors and a dentist. The Tourist Office in La Garde Freinet has details of special events, wine routes and local activities such as boat hire, cycling, clay shooting, golf, riding and tennis. Good walking can be had along quiet wooded tracks close to the villa. If venturing to the coast, some of the best beaches and coastal walks can also be found. A comprehensive House Book detailing information about the villa and the surrounding area is kept at the house for your guidance.

Outside: A beautiful patio terrace, looking out on spectacular views of La Garde Freinet, breathtaking balcony views from the villa, there is ample parking, secluded garden with patio dining table and 8 garden chairs, a private swimming pool. The swimming pool area is fenced off and can be locked for your safety and security. It has new decking and 6 sun loungers plus a fully equipped pool side studio which includes a kitchen, shower, toilet and wash basin and barbecue area.
