Detached Longere in Saint Gonnery, Morbihan, Brittany - Peaceful Location On Beautiful Grounds

Detached longere with long drive down to house. Lots of parking for many vehicles. Front garden consists of many wonderful trees and plants, manicured lawns in a very calming location. There is a fantastic heated swimming pool with decking and barbecue area overlooking corn fields. We are located within walking distance from the town centre of St Gonnery which has all the basics i.e. bakers, supermarket, restaurants and bars. You are only a 10 mins drive from Loudeac and 15 mins from Pontivy. There are many picnic areas with great lakes and beautiful canals with superb fishing and fantastic restaurants. Lake ‘Lac de Guerledan’ is only 30 mins drive away with great water sports, beaches, kayaking and much more.Please note that the swimming pool is only in use from may until october.we have free wiifi.Please note that there are some fantastic fishing lakes near by, plus all local canals, but you will require a license which can be obtained oline.

A Fantastic Holiday

The cottage was huge with plenty of space for the five of us. The pool was great for the girls. The cottage is totally secluded and offers complete privacy. If you enjoy walking or cycling, the place is ideal with the Nantes-Brest canal just a mile away allowing fantastic walks or cycling. The cottage is extremely well equipped with plenty to keep everybody occupied. Good wi-fi and Sky TV. Really appreciated the items in the fridge on arrival and thoroughly enjoyed the stay

Amazing slice of paradise!

We were blown away by this house and the grounds. It was beautiful, spacious, full of character and perfect to accommodate 2 families. The swimming pool was just wonderful, nice and warm and plenty of space for us all to have a swim/play. The table tennis was very popular and we ate outside every meal time, great to have two sets of outdoor seating/tables. We used the bikes and board games plenty. The rooms were stunning, the kitchen was clean, spacious and well equipt. The utility room with shower was a luxury, meaning the kids could get warm straight after a swim. The house is set in beautiful grounds, very well maintained, with apple trees and lavender plants which you can smell when enjoying breakfast or a swim. It's really private and quiet which is also a huge bonus. There's even a trampoline for the kids. A short pleasant walk to the lovely little village with amenities is great too. The owners were also very helpful and kind enough to post something back to us that we'd left there. We will definitely be back, and really feel this is a little slice of paradise!

Beautiful house in quiet grounds

Beautiful house in secluded grounds, the kids spent everyday in the pool.

We were treated to an amazing fortnight with just one overcast day, which eventually ended in a rain storm, but even the view watching the lightening from the bedroom window was something special.

The village has a small shop and an amazing bakers, then it's a short trip to Pontivy, a must see historic town an incredible Napoleonic castle and numerous well stocked supermarkets.

Overall a great holiday and location.

beautiful home in a wonderful setting

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. Beautiful grounds and pool. So peaceful and relaxing. The house has everything you could possibly need and is extremely well equipped. There was was wine, water, milk, butter, bread and flowers on our arrival. A very nice gesture. There a plenty of local villages and towns within easy reach but you will need a car. We have travelled all over the world and I can honestly say this is the first place I have stayed which I didn't want to leave!!

Huge, comfortable, beautiful house

We had a brilliant family holiday in this house. It is a real delight; private, spacious and well stocked. The location is perfect for sightseeing all over this friendly region. The village is lovely with an excellent patisserie and rural views. Pontivy is a short drive away and has a great market on Mondays and lots to see and do. The castle town of jossellin is also well worth a visit. We especially loved the pool, the beautifully maintained gardens and the rustic charm of the delightful interior. This house is well priced and took our breath away with its size and facilities. The owners are also very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this property, we hope to go again next year!

Fantastic family holiday

A massive thank you to Jamie and Bernie for allowing us to use their fantastic, well-stocked and thoroughly delightful longere. It really had everything you could need. Clean and well-maintained throughout! You really only need to bring clothes and toiletries everything else is here!

The outside areas were magnificent. Ample seating for 12 people with 3 different decked areas to sit and enjoy the sunshine all day. The gardens were beautiful and the lake was lovely for a gentle stroll in the afternoon with our young daughter. The bikes were great - our eldest son gained confidence to learn to ride minus stabilisers!

The pool was brilliant. It was warm and a lot larger than the photo would suggest. The kids and adults had much deserved swim everyday following a visit to the surrounding areas.

At this longere all parts of Brittany are within easy reach including the delightful Dinan, St-Malo and Fougeres. The local marketing Pontivy, as is the village, is lovely. And the Boulanger in Pontivy is open until 7pm on a Sunday for fresh bread and cakes.

When we went, the local village was on the main closed up for their summer break. However, when open the local shop was well-stocked and although the owner spoke limited English she tried to help with any questions we had.

A big thanks need to go to Mike and Chris who came twice per week to check the grounds and the pool. They were informative about the local area and ensured we had everything we needed and provided advice on shopping and visits.

This was the best accommodation we have hired in France, and I'm sure, when we have visited other parts of the country we how to return.

I will be recommending this longere to others. It is well positioned, well stocked and is well-priced.

Our party included 2 adults over 65, 2 adults 35-45, and 3 children aged 7, 4 and 1.

St Gonnery has some beautiful spots for painters/artists.

Coast/Beach:

Lac de Guerleden is a 30 mins drive where you can enjoy various water sports, kayaking, man made beaches, playgrounds, restaurants, picturesque walks, great cycle tracks and horse back riding. There is also horse riding in Loudeac. The coast is approx 1 hour north or south where you can find some great beaches.

Travel:

A car is essential, the port of St Malo is 147km and Roscoff is 170km. Dinard Airport is 110km and Rennes Airport is 104km.

Please note that anyone who travels with brittany ferries

will receive a 10% discount on there travel costs.

Distances:

10 mins drive from Loudeac forest with 45km of marked trails and protected wildlife and flora, the 2,500 hectares of forest offers plenty of exploring and leisure activities all year round. There is horse riding in Loudeac. You just need to book. There are lots of canals with bike tracks that go for miles, idyllic for picnics. There is also the medieval town of Josselin with a beutiful chateau and a maze of cobbled alleyways.
