A light and spacious riverside apartment, overlooking the River Piave and situated in the beautiful medieval town of Belluno. Only 1 hour's drive from Venice and the coast. A great place for a romantic holidays and for exploring this fascinating part of Italy. Easy access to restaurants and bars makes sampling the excellent local cuisine and enjoying a chilled glass of Proseco a must. For the more active there are a variety of ski resorts close by, while golf, swimming, hiking, cycling, fishing, windsurfing, kite-surfing and horse-riding are all within easy reach.
This location is wonderful in all seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter.
My husband and I bought the apartment in 2009. We both enjoy skiing in the winter and walking in the summer. We fell in love with Belluno and the surrounding area, where we have enjoyed many wonderful holidays, winter, spring, summer and autumn.
Frances Holgate purchased this apartment in 2009
We love it because it is so conveniently placed for Venice, the mountains and lots of good restaurants. The town of Belluno nestles in the foothills of the Dolomites and is unspoiled by tourists. We also chose the apartment because it is located on the banks of the river Piave.
Walking into the old town for a glass of Prosecco before our evening meal. Listening to the sounds of the river and watching fishermen leisurely casting a fly for alpine trout.
Walking through the spring mountain flowers, in the summer returning from a long walk in the hills to enjoy a cool beer on the balcony, admiring the wonderful display the trees give in the autumn and in the winter heading up to the mountains for a days skiing and returning to our cosy apartment.
We loved this place!! The apartment is very clean and well-appointed with lots of thoughtful touches. Importantly everything works! It's ideally located away from the hubbub of the town, but right beside the River Piave which we loved splashing about in (n.b. we did go at the height of summer!). It's within walking distance of a supermarket which is really convenient. What we loved most was its proximity to some beautiful lakes shrouded by the spectacular Dolomite mountains: Lake Santa Croce and Lake Mis were within 30 minutes drive. The adventure park and chairlifts of Nevegal were also an easy drive away and a great day out for the family (we have a 5 year-old son). The always wonderful Venice is very easy to access by train or road.
Frances, the owner, is very well organised and her comprehensive instructions made everything a breeze. We would certainly consider coming back here and were very sad to leave.
We had a wonderful week in this delightful apartment. Very comfortable, with everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday. The location is perfect, overlooking the beautiful River Piave, and provides a peaceful, natural outlook.
Neighbours in the adjacent properties are extremely courteous, ensuring that we had a quiet stay and were able to relax and completely unwind.
The underground garage was perfect for parking our hire car.
Well equipped kitchen made cooking easy, and we enjoyed breakfast and the odd meal on the terrace.
Very comfortable bed ensured a good nights sleep.
We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the town of Belluno, the centre of which is a short walk uphill, or a pleasant stroll along the river to the elevator. Very good restaurants, shops and bars are plentiful, welcoming and reasonably priced.
The riverside and city walks are a real pleasure here, and as a lifelong fly fisherman, only wish I'd packed my rod and waders - Maybe next time !
All arrangements via France's were expeditious, and instructions and equipment in the apartment were spot on.
We were fortunate with good weather, but during one day's torrential rain, we cosied up and enjoyed a film or two from the generous collection provided.
Despite being Italiaphiles this was our first visit to the Dolomites, and we loved it.
Many thanks for a superb stay, and we hope to revisit.

Modern, exceptionally clean, well maintained and well stocked, we could not have asked for more from this apartment.
I found the owner (Frances) to be extremely helpful throughout, she responded quickly to all emails and provided good information. There were some really nice touches in the apartment which made us feel right at home eg.a variety of books & maps, binoculars, dressing gowns & slippers, a hairdryer & even two walking poles and a rucksack which we found very useful on our hike to the top of Nevegal!
We had a hire car and never struggled to find a space in the car park, found just outside the apartment block which was well lit and well maintained. The apartment is on the 2nd floor and can be reached either by stairs or by lift, the latter being a real bonus with our suitcases and a tired 6 year old!
The heating was on a timer (already programmed) so on return from our daily adventures the apartment was warm and cosy and always plenty of hot water.
We had amazing weather for the whole of our stay so made full use of the balconies however I think these would be a real bonus no matter what its doing outside. We saw at least two herrons fishing every day, ducks, I think a buzzard and a plethora of other wildlife. The balcony doors also let alot of light through into the lounge area which made it a very pleasant place to sit and relax.
To round up our overall experience: wonderful!
Stunning apartment, stunning location, highly recommend!
