About the Owner

I am now spending a lot of time in our house in Antibes as my husband David and I decided to do a lot of the renovation work ourselves. I have worked as an interior designer for 20 years. We are into our sixth year of renting and we are still really enjoying it! We still have work to do but all our rooms are finished and are guests have been very happy, thank goodness. One of us is generally around to make sure everything goes smoothly and to help with any problems though now we have a superb apartment in Brighton which we are renovating as our current project.

We loved our time here and the apartment very much felt like home. If we are ever in need of accommodation again we will be back in a heatbeat. Thanks again, Rick and Soph

Thank you so much, we've had a wonderful stay & love what you have done with this place - it's absolutely beautiful & we'd definitely come back if we ever visit Antibes again!

Good luck with the other rooms - I'm sure they'll be fabulous too! Anita & Andy.

Excellent holiday

  • 5 of 5

Me and my daughter had a lovely weeks stay in the ground floor studio, the room had everything we needed. Both Nicky and David were excellent hosts and helped us with directions and everything we needed. The studio is located in a great area and I would definitely recommend to a friend. I hope to come back soon for another holiday! :) Sylvia & Alaina

Hideaway in quiet lane in Antibes

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in small ground floor studio, making good use of pretty garden courtyard for meals and relax. Good queen bed. Perfect location yet quiet - compact yet had all you needed - just around corner from fantastic boulangerie for breakfast croissants. Very friendly owners who were only too happy to help or advise. Very Short walk to sandy beach, harbour front and huge covered market - train or bus to nearby towns such as Nice or St Tropez. Highly recommend.

Cosy, quiet and central.

  • 5 of 5

Our first visit to Antibes and we struck lucky in finding this little gem of a studio. Nicky and David our hosts made us very welcome and their suggestions for places to go were gratefully received. Easy access to local buses and the train made visits out to other places along the Cote D'Azur an adventure and meant that a car was unnecessary.

Our studio room was spotlessly clean, well supplied with everything we needed and the bed extremely comfy. We loved the quaint, pretty courtyard where we did some sketching, played cards, enjoyed many glasses of wine and of course ate lots of croissants and yummy cakes from the boulangerie on the corner approx 40 yards away. Some mornings we did not bother with making breakfast as a plentiful choice of cafes were within easy reach. In fact our little studio was within easy reach of most of Antibes attractions, the beaches, marina, shops, market and museums etc. We would certainly suggest a visit to the nearby pizzaria 'The Pomodoro' for a delicious meal and most memorable experience. Nicky and David's care of us has certainly made sure that this first visit will not be our last. Thank you both.

From the Owner

We bought our apartment at the top of the building first because of the view from the roof terrace and because it was so quiet even though it is in the centre of the old town. We spent 2 years, and too much money, making it in to a really special apartment. We now own the whole building and have slowly worked our way down. Quietly of course! Antibes is a brilliant town and a great place to visit all year round, there are always things happening but if you just like wandering around and sipping a glass of wine or a coffee in a street cafe you have plenty to choose from. The covered market is open all year round and becomes a great place for dinner in the evening.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Barpub : several around Place Nationale at 50 Metres Nearest Restaurant : National in Place Nationale at 50 Metres Car: not necessary

The sandy Gravette beach is 5 minutes walk or a 15 minute walk around the ramparts will take you to the larger Sallis beach where you can hire sunbeds and umbrellas for the day. We have some umbrellas and beach chairs for use and can supply beach towels. Please ask when booking.

A walk or bike ride past the old fort Carré towards Nice takes you to a long stretch of pebble beach which is popular with surfers and has great beach restaurants.

Nice airport is 15km from there the 250 bus will take 35 minutes and cost 10 euro and the bus stop is 10-15 minutes away though beware, they only run until 20.15 and a taxi will cost you more than an earlier flight!. Local buses are a good way of getting around. A car isn't necessary but if you want to explore further, there is an English speaking car hire company 5 minutes away. We have 2 bicycles available for hire. There is an underground car park close by if you arrive by car.

The station is 10 minutes walk and trains run frequently to Nice, Monaco, Italy, Cannes and St Raphael from where during the summer, you can catch the ferry to St Tropez.

There is a TGV link to Eurostar so you can get here without flying!

Further Details:

The studios are moments from all the restaurants, cafes and bars and shops. The Provencal covered market is 2 minutes away as is the Picasso museum and Cathedral. Place National, at the end of the road, has markets on Thursdays and Saturdays.

From the Owner

Our building is a few yards from the main square in the old town. If you walk the other way you come to the port and the beach after about a 5 minute walk. Antibes old town is partly pedestrian. The roads are narrow and cars can only go slowly. We are lucky to have one of the few gardens next to us so our windows overlook trees. Our entrance is via a private courtyard, not very wide but a good place to sit and I have planted up pots to make it prettier. Antibes is a lively, bustling town in the summer with bars that stay open until the early hours so we chose our property carefully and it is quiet even in the high season!
