It has been a wanderful week and a good time in the middle of the lemon trees. You are a great host and we really enjoied the warm welcome. Michael and Herniette.

Dear Fabio, thanks for all the wonderful and peaceful place, your heartful welcome, lemonds and almonds, the fine dinner with your family, the tips to go to Cava Grande e Vendicari. Zisolhouse has a mistake: It's so lovely that we often had no interest in leaving and stayed here for the whole day. September 2009 Will and Petra.

We have driven from Cornwall England, these 7 days of relaxing in Zisolhouse have been the best. Thank you for making us so welcome. All the best to you and your family, Adrian and Helen.

If you want to know the real Sicile !! come and meet the fabulous Fabio and try the Pepino's pizzas. Marie and Sebastian.

Casa Zisola is geweldig. Fabio is een heel goede gastheer, die jouw graag vertelt over zijn werk en zijn plannen. Zijn biologische olijf- amandel en citroenbomen bieden een fijne rustig

A taste of Sicily

  • 5 of 5

Fabio and Annarella were perfect hosts. Fabio's local knowledge is amazing and we strongly recommend that you listen to his suggestions when planning your day trip. We visited some fabulous places as a result and felt that we experienced a very special non touristy side of Sicily. The house has everything we needed, the area is beautiful and there's a great small supermarket nearby. We ate at home in the evening and made the most of fresh pasta, swordfish, sea food and Sicilian sausage. Buy a citrus candle - adds to the atmosphere. We loved our day trips - beach at Elora first thing then drives into the hills and to Syracusa. Don't plan to go too far, it takes longer than you think despite some good roads. Driving is interesting and you need to be brave and go for it, a good map is sufficient. The hair pin turns are not for the faint hearted. Take picnics and stop in beautiful places. Buy one of the giant beach blankets - they are gorgeous and relatively cheap. Explore the countryside and make sure you spend an evening in the plaza in Noto. Fabio and Annerella have dogs and cats who like to say hello and are great company too. Take a walk round the farm, the dogs will show you the way through the lemon and olive groves. Sit back and enjoy the evenings with a sundowner. This trip was a complete 'internet stick a pin in somewhere' and we came up trumps. Thank you Fabio and Annerella.

You can`t beat the feeling....

  • 5 of 5

Zisolhouse is a fantastic place to spend completly relaxed holidays. Except of the occasional barking of dogs it is absolutely silent. We enjoyed our stay so much and look forward to come back. Fabio is a very nice and friendly host and we had much fun helping with the olive harvest, drinking and cooking with him, his family and his friends. A very nice way to learn to know the way of life in sicily. Zisolhouse is a very good place to start trips around the south-east of sicily. If you don`t like hotels and like an easy way of life Zisolhouse is the place to be. You can`t top sitting among olive-, almond-and lemon trees with some very nice people having traditional sicilian food and a glas of nero d'avola in your hand……highly recommended!!!

Sicilian Garden of Eden

  • 5 of 5

Zisolhouse is a beautiful place and Fabio and Annarella are perfect hosts. The house is very well maintained, furnished with love and offers plenty of space inside and outside. We have seen all of Sicily, and Noto is one of our favorite places - a great mix of history, pure Italian life and just the right amount of 21st century elements - good infrastructure and some stylish places you´d rather expect in Rome, in addition to the many typical restaurants and bars which offer great quality. This combined with the tranquil and picturesque setting of the Countryhouse 5 min from the City center in a lemon, almond and olive grove with sea view made our stay just perfect. Grazie, Fabio and Annarella!

Rustic Charm

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in this little house in the countryside just 5 minutes drive from the beautiful town of Noto. The sun shone for us every day so we hired a couple of mountain bikes, left the car at the villa and cycled into Noto. The market in Ortigia /Siracusa is a must see. You can eat your way around, sampling the organic sun dried tomatoes, capers, cheeses, fresh cooked meats and the selection of fresh fish is wonderful. We borrowed an ice box from Fabio so that we could keep the fish fresh in the car whilst sightseeing in Ortigia which is dripping in history. It is a beautiful place to see. Modica old town is fabulous and famous for its chocolate. So many wonderful sites to see and we'll worth a visit to the little fishing town of Marzamemi where the Spanish influence can be seen and enjoy lunch overlooking the harbour. There wasn't enough time to see everything we planned to see so we will be back to see more of this beautiful island. We will definitely return to Zisolhouse. We were fortunate enough to enjoy traditional Sicilian cooking from Fabios mother and home made pizza from the old traditional oven they have outside. The best pizza we have ever tasted. A truly unique experience that made our holiday in Sicily a very memorable one. Unfortunately the time went in too quickly. 7 nights definitely isn't long enough. We would recommend January because there are few tourists, less busy and the Spring sunshine is warm ie;- average temp was between 18° - 23°. Great for walking around to see the sights. Noto is an amazing place with Baroque and Liberty architecture. Can be cold in the evenings so take a warm jacket. Zisolhouse comes highly recommended by us for couples, young and old or a couple with 1 or 2 children. Anything you need to know or local info, Fabio is a very attentive host and is always available if needed. Thank you Fabio. We will be back next year!

A rural retreat with character

  • 4 of 5

This is a great place to experience both an authentic piece of old Sicily and the benefits of modern green technology. The surroundings are beautiful and the house provided us with a very good base for exploring this corner of Sicily. But what really made our stay so memorable was the charm and hospitality of the owners, Fabio and Annarella. I would recommend Zisolhome to anyone looking for an alternative to a standard beach holiday - though, having said that, the beaches are not far away!

A Taste of the Real Sicily!

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic welcome from Fabio. We loved your mum's delicious home cooking which was such a treat for us to enjoy real authentic traditional Sicilian food. Both you and Annarella were so kind and helpful with directions and suggestions where to eat and places to see. Nothing was too much trouble. The vino we bought was to die for that your father produces and the home made limoncello was the best ever. The little house is detached with everything you need for a holiday let. We loved sitting outside under the stars at night and walking on your beautiful land, picking fresh lemons from the trees was incredible. Thank you for the olive oil from your harvest, we are still enjoying it, bringing back memories of our stay in zisolhouse. The location was perfect for us to go sightseeing and within driving distance of all famous towns, cities and places of interest. We are so pleased we chose to stay in zisolhouse and look forward to returning. Miss the fresh ricotta from your friends farm and all the amazing food and dolce. We would recommend Zisolhouse to families with children and/or couples of any age. You must leave room in your case to take home some of Fabio''s organically grown Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This is the real deal. Thank you Fabio and Annarella for making our holiday a very special one.
