Set in historic Speightstown, this is a beautifully finished chattell style house. The house is situated within 5 minutes walking distance of all facilities, including a children's play park, several beaches, local shops and the bus station, which has all main links to the rest of the Island. 2 bedrooms, bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen and living area, laundry room, large veranda to the front of the house and enclosed back garden. Airport transfers can be arranged along with maid service and car hire upon request. Be as relaxed or as adventurous as you want to be. Visit the rum factory, go on safari, enjoy water sports, swim with turtles or just chill out on the beach where you might even spot the odd celebrity!

About the Owner

We refurbished the original chattel house, that my husband's mother and sister had lived in, in 2008. It took 3 months of hard work and the current house is the end result.

We have tried to keep the original look on the outside whilst making it modern and comfortable on the inside so our guests will enjoy it.

We like Speightstown very much. As well as its incredible history and charming architecture, my husband Wayne was born there and stayed until he was 9 years old, when he then went to England to be with his parents and brother.

In its life time the original chattel house moved location 3 times before settling in its current position.

We were married in St Peters Parish Church in Speightstown in 2009.

We love our house and hope that you do too.

I must start with fact that speightstown is a very friendly area in barbados the locals were very friendly the beaches around speightstown are very nice and only a 10 min walk from the apartment .... the apartment it self was very clean with all mod cons (even some English plug sockets) ..the buses that can take you any where in the island for 2 dollers is just at the end of the road I was going to rent a car but I realy didn't need too .... I'm planning to go back to barbados next year and I will be going back to this same apartment

Coast/Beach:

Heywoods beach, Port St. Charles, Godings Bay and Schooners Bay are a 5 minute walk away. Mullins and Port St, Charles are a 10 minute walk or a very short drive/bus ride. Other beaches are all easily accessible by bus or car.

Travel:

Grantley Adams Airport is approximately 40 minutes drive. Airport transfers available. Car hire available upon request.

Distances:

Bridgetown, 40 minute bus ride. Holetown, 15 minute bus ride. Museums in Speightstown and Bridgetown. Sugar museum, rum factory, plantation houses all easily accessible. Many other places of interest in this, the most historic town in Barbados.

Further Details:

There are supermarkets in Speightstown and Holetown and a variety of local restaurants. All main banks, library facilities and post office are located in Speightstown. There is also a variety store about 100 yards down the road Speightstown is the home of St. Peters Parish Church, one of the oldest on the Island.
