Offering very Spacious and comfortable accommodation which can be adapted to suit your group size and budget. With a maximum of 8 bedrooms (4 en suite) 2 bathrooms and cloakroom there is plenty of room for groups of 16 - 23 in number. It is the ideal location for all ages and occasions; holidays, celebrations, family get-togethers, weekend or mid-week breaks, hen & stag weekends.

Ravensprings has stunning original period features and unique furnishings - ideal for photo shoots, this is certainly the place for that memoriable celebration. Prices for Weekends Friday & Saturday also include all day Sunday - so you don't have to rush off or pay extra to enjoy the extra day. The 34' x 16' sitting room is quite unique with stunning mahogany panelling from the Edwardian ocean liner the Mauritania. This room is perfect for large gatherings and meetings in an informal and comfortable environment. The elegant dining room overlooks Ravensprings Park and seats up to 24 guests. Caterers often come to the House to provide buffets or serviced meals for those special occasions.

The antique fireplace is a fabulous feature and ideal for those who want to feel at home in front of a roaring open fire during winter breaks. There are also 5 central heating radiators in the sitting room alone, to ensure such a large room can feel cosy and homely during your stay. There is free unlimited wifi and two TV's one with Sky Sports and Films.

Ravensprings enjoys a very quiet, but central location only 2 miles from the motorway making the House the ideal venue for people travelling from all parts of the UK. With easy access to two International Airports at Manchester and Leeds Bradford we have many guests who use the House as a base to catch up with friends and family scattered around the UK.

There are numerous restaurants and bars nearby and at least 4 excellent countryside gastro pubs just a short drive away. We regularly have excellent caterers offering both serviced and buffet meals at Ravensprings.

The accommodation Includes a downstairs double bedroom with shower and wash hand basin en suite and a toilet opposite and kitchen nearby. This an ideal bedroom for the elderly or those who find stairs difficult.

The tranquil, residential location offers easy access to Leeds City Centre and Manchester as well as the beautiful Dales and Moors in all weathers. There are numerous local sports and activities. Many interesting stately homes and gardens to visit. Museums and art galleries including the Yorkshire Sculpture park are easily accessible. There are also lots of night clubs, cinemas and theatres including Ballet, Opera and Comedy clubs in the nearby City of Leeds.

Within 45 minutes are also the delightful towns of Harrogate and York. As well as numerous other interesting towns and villages such as Howarth (Bronte country) and Holmfirth the top of the Derbyshire Dales.

Equidistant from both the East and West coast we have the unique situation of being able to watch the sun rise over the sea on the East Coast and then watch it set over the sea in the West!

Why Miss Josy Wade chose West Yorkshire

Ravensprings is a gorgeous example of an Arts and Crafts Victorian House when I saw it advertised it just leapt out of the page. At the time the House was in desperate need and deserved restoration. As an unlisted and unprotected large property it was under threat of being converted into six apartments or eight apartments due to it's size which would have been a great shame.

At the time I thought that the central yet quiet location and the fact that most amenities were available on the doorstep made this a very desirable place to be. The location means that within 15 - 20 minutes you can be in the countryside or City Centre which offered the best of both worlds.

What makes this house unique

Ravensprings is a corner House and South Facing and thus sunny and light inside. It is also slightly elevated so it seems very private inside. Many of the original features were still in tact although a few had been lost during the 1960's / 70's. The fact that one of the previous owners had been part of the Miller's Oils family mean that a lot of money had been spent on the House during the late 20's, 30's & 40's. When the famous liner the Mauretania had been refitted in the early 1930's the owners had gone to the sale and purchased a stateroom of mahogany panelling and over-mantels and doors and other fitments. They then knocked the reception and sitting room into one enormous room (34' x 16') and fitted most of these antique furnishings in it. At the same time they had ornate and plaster beams to run the length of this high ceilinged room which are painted to look like they were carved from timber. The views from the dining room window was predominantly of Ravensprings Park. This was created as one of the owner's particular interests as it has a model railway which was donated to the Brighouse and Rastrick Model Society in the 50's. This is open to the public on about once a month and to see Father Christmas driving an model train full of children from your window is quite a novelty.

The dining room was in fact meant to have been used as a billiards room at one time (thus the rise and fall over head lighting) and the Owner was meant to have had friendly games with Joe Davis (then retired) the World Champion Snooker player in this room.

Another unique feature was the conversion of the cellar (out of bounds to visitors for health and safety reasons) into an air raid shelter during the First World War. There is a short tunnel leading to the lower garden. This was more recently (4 years ago) used as part of the film set of a spooky version of Alice in Wonderland on release as the indie film Red Kingdom Rising.

Great Accommodation!

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for somewhere to house a group of gentlemen on a stag weekend in Leeds, and this ticked every box! It was situated in a lovely area and the house itself was very clean and tidy, with every amenity needed. It was so nice in fact that most of the lads said we should go back again with wifes/girlfriends.

Would definitely recommend!

Owner's Response: Hi Andy, Caroline and I are so pleased that you all had a good time at Ravensprings. As it was a stag weekend we are always a tiny bit apprehensive, this was certainly unfounded in you case as. Caroline especially says a big thank you for leaving the House so clean and tidy (best this year; we should have an annual prize for this) and we certainly would welcome you back again with girlfriends and wives. The House does sleep 20 normally and up to 23 with the extra beds, so you wouldn't have to leave anyone out! Best Wishes and see you later, Josy and Caroline

Incredible house with tons of character

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Ravensprings as a group of 21 people and had the most wonderful time. Every room is different and has so much character so it's brilliant for big groups. We fit all 21 of us into the dining room and found the kitchen very well-stocked with all the equipment you need for a banquet. The booking process was also super easy and reliable. The house is also beautifully decorated and stylish. A wonderful place for a big group stay on a special occasion - totally recommended!

An excellent venue for large parties

  • 5 of 5

We booked Ravensprings for my sisters hen party. It was perfect for our large group with plenty of space and bedrooms, and we had everything we required during our stay. Both the owner and housekeeper were very accommodating and happy to help out with any enquiries. I would definitely recommend!

Lovely House, great for a Hen Doo

  • 4 of 5

The house was lovely, clean & well equipped, bags of character, great for large groups for a get together, plenty of bathrooms, toilets etc. Kitchen was well equipped & spacious, had everything you would need. Only a couple of gripes, a lot of the light bulbs didn't work, lack of plug sockets in the bedrooms, and a biggie for me, the bedrooms on the top floor were very cold, inadequate heating & not enough bedding to compensate, that said, a £3 hot water bottle from the village & a blanket donated by a friend sorted that out, but I would take extra bedding if you visit.a great place though & would go again

This is a beautiful, impressive and spacious property which is exactly what we were expecting.

  • 5 of 5

Every room was beautiful and each corner was clean. The garden was gorgeous and the facilities were perfect for our big group. All expectations were accurately set and all the boys were delighted. We were proud and grateful to stay at Ravensprings; we will be back.
