The property is located in the most affluent hotel region of Torremolinos, on the third floor of a three storey complex, with a private swimming pool and beautiful well-kept gardens. Simply, cross the road and you are on the beach, surrounded by fabulous 'Chiringuitos' (bars), restaurants, shops, and supermarkets. The apartment is equipped with ASDL Internet Connection and English TV Channels.

About the Owner

Maria Carmen and Graham Pyle have owned the Playamar, Torremolinos apartment since 2005. We live in Enfield UK, although we have relatives in Torremolinos, who look after the apartment for us. We have enjoyed family holidays in Torremolinos nearly every year since we bought the apartment and our two sons now sometimes use the apartment for their own family holidays.

We had a wonderful time, and couldn't have wished for a better location. The apartment was excellent and the gardens were beautiful to sit in, all in all we had a very relaxing holiday. We had never been to Torremolinos before but would definitely return in the future. Angela 8.6.13



We stayed in the apartment over Christmas and were delighted with it. It was well equipped with everything we needed for a very comfortable weeks stay. On arrival we found the apartment spotlessly clean, tidy, well equipped and well furnished. The beds were very comfortable. Perfect for our needs

We stayed in the apartment for a few days between Christmas and new year. It was perfect for our needs and great value for money. Only a 10 min taxi journey from Malaga airport, located just across the road from the beach and beautiful promenade.

Many restaurants and bars a few mins walk away although many were not open given the time of year. Just a short walk into torremolins old town to find many more.

Apartment and surrounding areas were spotlessly clean, everything was as described on the website.

Air conditioning ( hot) was much appreciated for the cooler December evenings.

Graham was very helpful and prompt in his replies, keen to ensure that we were happy with everything.

We will no doubt return in the future and I would definitely recommend the apartment to family and friends.

Property description accurate, location perfect. We were not disappointed with the apartment, facilities or location. Restaurants all around, just a walk across the road to the nearest. Large supermarket less than 5 minutes away. The property, surrounding gardens and pool beautifully maintained.

Would not recommend to anyone with walking difficulties, 3rd floor, no lift. Shinanegan's Irish bar for great English breakfast.

Perfect

The description is exactly what it says!

It is in a great location,very clean and compact apartment that is inside imaculate well kept locked gated gardens.

You step out of the front gate on to the main strip with the lovely clean beach across the road.

Or you can go out the back gate by the pool and within a 3 minute walk there is a good size supermarket that sells all you need.

The town is approx a 10 - 15min walk away where there is the metro and lots more shops and restaurants.

But we prefer along the strip with a very nice walk to the harbour stopping off to have a drink in the many bars/restaurants along the way.

(Prices will be less if you go to any of them just off the sea front)

The owner was very helpful and friendly as while we were there the AC did not work, we made 1 phone call and she came straight around with a portable fan and within 2 days we had a brand new AC fitted!

Excellent. !!

Husband and i stayed there for three weeks,and it was ideal. Situated right on beachfront,close to shops and entertainment. Apartment was well equipped with everything you could need. Plenty of towels,bedlinen and kitchen facilities. The apartment itself was beautifully decorated,and very comfortable,with English tv channels,and wifi. Would highly recommend to all age groups.

Excellent location

The apartment is excellently located within a gated complex just across the road from the beach, with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops along the promenade and a large supermarket at the rear. It has sea views from the enclosed balcony and it also has a reasonable sized swimming pool although there are no communal sun loungers to use. This is a third floor apartment with no lifts in the block so is not ideal people who would struggle with the stairs. The apartment was clean and tidy and well laid out with a full sized fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and 2-ring hob in the kitchen. There was a decent sized tv with English channels available and the wifi in the room was free to use.

Location

We got to know Torremolinos when Maria Carmen's sister went to work there and she introduced us to 'Playamar', which is a vibrant area both during the day and at night. Apart from the lovely beaches, there are many bars, shops and restaurants of all types, many of which serve seafood specialities, typical of this part of the coast. Malaga airport is only about 15 minutes drive away.

Coast/Beach:

'La Carihuela', 'Bajondillo', 'Playamar' and 'Los Alamos' make up the four beach zones of the sea front promenade of Torremolinos. Each beach zone, is famous for its different specialities. The apartment is located in Playamar which is renowned for its sporting and entertainment activities including volleyball and football tournaments and an open air cinema in the summer.

Eating Out & Night Life

In the Playamar area there are numerous restaurants, some of which provide live music as well as delicious food and just a few minutes stroll along the seafront promenade is the Los Alamos area, which is the go-to place for 'Nightlife' .

Travel:

There are flights to Malaga from most main UK airports. The airport is located west of the city of Malaga, approx 5km (about 12 minutes drive) to the apartment. Car hire is not essential, as all amenities are close by and buses/taxis are readily available. The railway station in Torremolinos town centre serves Malaga to the east and Benalmadena, Arroyo de la Miel, Fuengirola to the west. The train has a specific stop at the airport.

Distances:

Torremolinos town centre 10mins walk or a short bus ride and Malaga 12kms for that big shopping trip! The Costa Del Sol offers much to see and do, from water-parks including Aquapark in Torremolinos bowling and Tivoli World Theme Park to local 'fiestas' and places of historical interest such as Granada 130km and Sevilla 220km. There are many other local resorts such as Benalmadena 4km, Fuengirola 18km, Mijas 24km, Marbella 50km, Puerto Banus 52km, Estepona 80km and Tarifa 120km.

Further Details:

Torremolinos is a very friendly town which likes to take care of its tourism as this is the main source of its economy. On the first Thursday of June, they celebrate 'Dia del Pescaito' where everyone can enjoy in food and drink, free of charge. On 16th of July, 'Virgen del Carmen', is celebrated which is a week full of parties on 'La Carihuela' Beach.

The first Thursday of September sees, 'Dia del Turista' which is celebrated to give thanks to the tourists who have visited the town of Torremolinos. Once again food and drink is free.

On the 29th of September, 'Fiesta de San Miguel' is celebrated in the centre of Torremolinos. 'La Romeria de San Miguel' is a unique and typical party in the countryside surrounded by Pine Trees.

  • The apartment is very spacious, measuring 45m2 and benefits from plenty of light. It comprises a large lounge-dining area with ‘American-style’ kitchen. The lounge area includes a sofa-bed for one adult (two, if you’re friendly!), a large bedroom with two single beds and fitted wardrobe. The bathroom is nicely equipped with shower, basin and toilet. There is a glazed terrace with views towards the sea and gardens and an air-conditioning system which functions with both hot and cold air. The apartment complex is securely gated and benefits from a beautiful garden and large, well tended swimming pool ideal for couples, both with or without children. The swimming pool is open all year round. The apartment is located in the Bajondillo-Playamar area, between hotels Isabel and Los Jazmines. The tourist office is close by and a large ‘Mercadona’ supermarket ´Mercadona´ can be found near the rear garden entrance. The 'Paseo Maritimo' (promenade) runs for approximately 7 kilometres and is ideal for walkers, cyclists or roller skaters. There you will also find many chiringuitos (beach-bars), which offer drinks and a variety of tapas and meals. Some chiringuitos have introduced Balinese beds in addition to their sun beds, which offer an exotic Caribbean style environment ideal for those looking to relax and unwind. There is a vibrant nightlife, that includes bars, pubs and restaurants serving delicious food in a fun/popular atmosphere. The numerous restaurants offer Spanish and international cuisine serving seafood, meat and vegetarian options. Utility Room: Utility Cupboard - iron/ironing board and cleaning equipment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels.
