Villa Palmito is situated approximately 7km from the village of Mogan and 5km from the picturesque Puerto de Mogan, known locally as Little Venice due to the pretty rows of two-storey houses intersected with flower-filled walkways, bridges and waterways. The enchanting fishing village and harbour of Puerto Mogan is a working port supplying locally caught seafood to numerous local restaurants, who are able to offer seafood dishes of unrivalled freshness. Golfers will have easy access to the picturesque Par 3 and 18 hole courses at Anfi Tauro (approx 15 minutes by car) and El Salobre, a Championship standard course some 20 minutes away by car. Puerto Mogan and Mogan village have three good sized supermarkets and there is a regular bus service with a bus stop near the villa. Other local attractions include the Yellow Submarine, for a glimpse of Mogan's underwater life, Palmitos Park & Aquapark waterpark, a little further along the coast at Playa de Ingles.

"We had a very enjoyable time at Villa Palmito and would thoroughly recommend the villa. The Villa is in a lovely quiet location with spectacular views up the valley from the large terrace around the pool. The pool is a good size and was heated to a very pleasant temperature. Mogan is one of the prettiest resorts on the island with a great sandy beach for the kids, and not over-developed as other Canarian resorts tend to be. The villa was thoroughly cleaned and laundry changed midway through the week rather than the usual once a week clean and there was plenty of hot water for the baths and showers! We'd recommend the villa for family with kids - there's railings around the whole property, and the villa comes with cot and lots of kids plastic plates etc. Worth noting that the basement bedrooms (both en-suite) are accessed via an external staircase with their own front door.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Easter with 3 generations of the family (5 adults and 2 children)
Before we left Lawrence answered all of our questions and nothing was too much bother.
The villa was lovely, clean and well kept. There was plenty of room inside and out, although we never needed to use the lounge area as we mostly spent our time outdoors. The pool and inflatables were a big hit with the children and they were in the pool whenever possible.
Plenty of parking for our 2 hire cars. Bakers within walking distance to pick up morning croissants.
The drive is steep, but not really a problem for our group.
Spacious well equipped house with good pool and barbecue area. Ideal for our 10 person 3 generation party. Steep drive needs care!
As a family of 10 adults & two children under 2 years of age we found:
Plenty of space indoor/outdoor so not on top of each other. Especially the BBQ area.
Plenty of sun loungers and space to pick your own comfy spot again without being on top of each other.
VERY CLEAN….. housekeeper a lovely lady very approachable even with a language barrier, a smile and a hug gets you through.
Plenty of crockery/utensils and useful items left from previous guests, i.e. kitchen foil/dishwasher tablets, teabags, that sort of thing.. . so we did the same to help next guests.
Handy having a laundry room.
Steep drive a challenge with a pram.
And also parking 3 hire cars, need a good co-driver
The two en-suite bedrooms on the lower deck only suited our adults. (no internal connection)
Our younger ones would not have been heard early evening, if they cried, whilst we sat outside at the BBQ area or even around the pool area.
Could have done with an extra set of keys as our party was made up of 5 different households doing different things sometimes. But we sorted it. I am sure if you asked before your arrival it wouldn’t be a problem.
All enjoyed our holiday... in our own way..….Together…
Having just returned from a two week Christmas and New Year holiday, I would like to say what a perfect place to stay with the children and grandchildren! The BBQ area is a delight and we had many a good night outside cooking up a storm! The Villa had everything we could possibly need for our stay, with a gardener, pool man and cleaner coming regularly to keep things looking smart. Laurence the owner was a gent to deal with, regardless of the numerous emails I sent to clarify things!😂 Nothing was too much trouble. I would whole heartedly recommend this Villa, and very much hope to visit again.
Highly recommend this property. Our family traveled from UK and Ireland, and had a really fun and restful week. A beautiful villa, comfortable and well looked after and with everything one could possibly need to relax and catch up on the gossip. Pool was warm and so delightful to have choice of poolside or barbecue area to eat out. The drive was a little steep for our older members (80+) though everything else was wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed eating out locally and great taxi services locally also if you decide not to have a rental car, though easy to hire locally and straightforward roads etc. Particularly loved the buzzards flying overhead, dont see in Ireland!! Easy and really helpful instruction and support from owner and the local garden maintenance and house staff were really lovely- thank you all ....
Our second stay at this villa. Went with family instead of friends this time. Very different holiday, but a lovely time had by all. Villa was up to the same high standard as last year.
Coast/Beach:
The villa is situated 5 minutes by car from Playa Mogan and Puerto de Mogan. Playa Mogan is a gentle beach with golden sand rather than the typical Canarian volcanic variety with a good variety of shops, restaurants and bars. Puerto Mogan is both a working fishing port and a marina with boats of all shapes and sizes from around the world. The port area has a good buzz, excellent restaurants providing a good variety of cuisines as well as an annual jazz festival and other attractions.
Travel:
Transfer from Las Palmas airport takes approximately 45-60 minutes by car.
A bus service also passes through the airport and on to Mogan port and village.
Travelling by taxi from the airport to the villa should cost no more than about 40 Euros.
Distances:
The villa is situated approximately 5km from Puerto Mogan/Playa Mogan and 7km from the village (pueblo) of Mogan.
Further Details:
Mogan is noted for having sunshine for 12 months of the year and for being the Southerly part of a continent in miniature offering golden beaches, endless sand dunes, mountains, green ravines and pretty villages.
Gran Canaria is a Biospheric Reserve and also known for it's windsurfing, diving, golfing and big game fishing - as well as being a Winter training venue for professional cyclists.
