Guestbook comments from the owner

'Delightful cottage with stunning views over the estuary. I don't think I have ever stayed in accommodation that is so well stocked with everything you could possibly want for a self catering holiday. In fact, we all agreed that we could comfortably move in !' L.G, E. Sussex.

'Rooms are beautifully decorated and clean with comfortable beds - the efforts you make really shows.' D.P. Deal, Kent.

'The cottage was far better than we imagined. The views are stunning. It's a great location, 10 mins from town. The cottage is extremely well equipped and easily surpassed anything we had rented in the past.' I.S. Oxford.

Perfect location for a stroll into town and enjoy all that Padstow has to offer; a great range of good restaurants, cafes & bars to suit everyone. Clean, comfortable, cosy, practical house with a large, dog-friendly garden & beautiful estuary views. Great place to relax in the peace and quiet & enjoy the scenery. Helpful, friendly owner.

Bin Two champagne & coffee bar was a real "find".

Would recommend & would go back again.

Cosy and Convenient

  • 4 of 5

As we stayed here in December the weather was cold but this bungalow is cosy, comfortable, clean and warm and gives stunning views out over the estuary. In general it is well furnished and equipped but we would like to have had a dishwasher and a bigger fridge. We kept milk and drinks outside the back door but this would not work in the summer. It's only a couple of minutes walk in to Padstow and even less to the Camel Trail. Tesco is less than 5 minutes away by car.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay in Padstow. It is always good to get feedback so that we may address any issues that arise. We will certainly be looking at the items raised for the coming season. Kind regards.

6 Porthilly View, Padstow

  • 5 of 5

The photo's of this bungalow looked superb. When we arrived we thought oh no this is like Cold Comfort Farm. The outer fabric needs a lot of attention. The gate fell off and parking instructions were not very clear. This bungalow is not on the front but a row behind. Accessed by an alleyway from Porthilly view. A very friendly neighbour put us right as to parking which is no problem at all, room enough for three cars.

However, once inside, the place was superb and couldn't be faulted, an extremely comfortable place to be. Well appointed very clean . I couldn't praise it enough. The fact that it is dog friendly is another bonus.

We felt that we were guests of the owners and not just in a holiday let.

Five stars all round, and sitting on the patio watching the dawn come up is a joy to behold.

Special interest holidays:

Rick Stein famously loves fish. He believes that 'nothing is more exhilarating than fresh fish, simply cooked' and he should know. He has run the seafood restaurant alongside the harbour in Padstow for the past 28 years. During that time it has grown from a small bistro to become one of the best known restaurants in the UK.

An unforgettable experience in an epic location, the Eden project, approx 20 min drive, is both an educational resource and environmental showcase.

Coast/Beach:

Padstow's beautifully sandy beach is a short walk from the harbour. A larger beach is available at Rock which can be reached by a short ferry ride from Padstow harbour.

Travel:

Newquay airport is within 30 minutes from Padstow.

Further Details:

Within an easy 10 minute level walk of the harbour and restaurants.
