About jeff kinchin

jeff kinchin purchased this villa in 2003

Why jeff kinchin chose Yaiza

I wanted to buy a second home in Playa Blanca as I loved holidaying there. I viewed various properties but fell in love with Casa Manana because of it's close location to the beach, shops and restaurants which was perfect for my young daughters.

But the biggest selling point was it's private pool and the open terrace for 'alfesco eating' which leads off from the lounge. Everything just ticked the boxes and the rest was history.

In 2004 I had the Canarian wall built up all round the pool and garden area so we have complete privacy and I added an all year round pool heater so even in the winter months the pool is around 28 - 30 degrees.

I like nothing more than sampling the many fantastic restaurants and even my daughters love the selection of fresh fish cooked with garlic.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Superb villa throughout, furnished to a high standard with every facility on hand, sheltered and private, within a short walk of beaches, an ideal holiday venue for anyone looking for high class accommodation in an unspoilt location." Tish.

"Casa Mañana is such a restful and tranquil place to spend time, especially on the terrace in the evening with just the garden lights on and the sun going down. Casa Mañana is a great place to stay and we will keep going back." Derek & Elizabeth.

"This is our 3rd year at the villa, as always feels like home as soon as you drop your cases, so clean and loved just like your own home, and what a beautiful position overlooking the sea and the island of Fuerteventura. Just a short walk to the local restaurants. Can't wait to book for next year." The Walter family.

"The villa is beautiful and is ideal for a relaxing holiday. Well appointed and very well equipped. It is very spacious and tastfully decorated. It is really home from home". Mo & Ray

Nice house but very noisy location

  • 4 of 5

Positioned next to a busy road, it was also affected by various building works going on nearby... but pool and accommodation were fine. Convenient for many restaurants and red mountain (worth the walk).

Fantastic villa, wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

Just back from a wonderful stay - my family and I had a brilliant time here. The villa is immaculate and comfortable inside, with all the facilities you could want. The pool and poolside areas are the best - perfect place to chill out and de-stress, the pool was heated and the only issue we had was getting our son to leave it. The patio area is really lovely, beautiful furniture making it a very relaxing spot to enjoy.

The location is also great, close enough to walk to Playa Flamingo with some local restaurants and supermarkets, and a little further along the coastal path to the main town. Marina Rubicon is a short taxi ride away and is well worth the visit. We would love to return for another holiday here.

Lovely villa needing maintenance

  • 2 of 5

The impression initial was good and we were looking forward to our stay over christmas and new year, then on exploring the property things transpired to be not the case. The ensuite had some serious mould that had spread to the main bedroom and In to wardrobes as it smelt very damp. Broken socket, toaster and pool heater seemed to set the trend. 6 bed property but 3 person hot water shower capacity. Lovely outside seating / eating area.

Certainly a home from home!

  • 5 of 5

As a family who have holidayed in Playa Blanca a number of times, in different villas, we had a good feeling about Casa Manana right from the start, and we weren't disappointed The initial contact with the owner, Jeff Kinchin was so reassuring, as he could not do enough to answer all our questions and offer assistance in all areas, even down to arranging transfers to and from the airport. What a lovely fella!

Casa Manana is a lovely villa which has everything a family needs. As we had three teenage girls with us, the living room was a haven for them when they wanted to get out of the sun. They had wifi, television with full sky movie and sport package, an array of dvd's of all types which kept them satisfied for the duration of the holiday. There was even a bluetooth speaker that they could connect to their phones for music extravaganzas by the pool.Happy kids equates to happy holiday.

Everything is within walking distance and helps to walk of the excesses of holiday relaxation!! However taxis are plentiful. The coastal path is a lovely place to run. Please read the other reviews for more information about what's in the area, but two cracking restaurants not to be missed, are the Luna Rossa ( Italian) and Imagine India (Indian cuisine).

The swimming pool is large and a joy to get in (water temperature was 30 degrees while we were there) and the patio area is ideal for sun-worshippers. The 'Jewel in the crown' for us though was the Naya (covered terrace) immediately outside the living area which housed a top notch rattan dining table and chairs with a sofa set as well. This area is a wonderful place for just getting out of the sun, reading, having a beer, dining or just lazing the evening away.

Finally no holiday goes by without there being little glitches, and when these things occur, the most you can wish for is a quick resolution. In our case, whenever we needed some assistance, the property management team responded immediately and that is exactly what you need to be able to relax and carry on with your holiday. Special thanks to Brett and Stuart for their efforts, and of course Jodie for all the arrangements.

I was in two minds about writing this review, because it will probably be harder to book Casa Manana next year with too many people interested!!!

A special thank you to Jeff Kinchin for allowing us to share this special villa.

"We'll be back!!" (if it's not fully booked:-)

Wonderful home from home

  • 5 of 5

Lovely villa with a great pool. Fab location within walking distance to the beach. Just spent a week there with my family and we all wanted to stay another week. Not overlooked so and nice a quiet. You are near a main road but you don't notice it and its quiet at night. Brilliant Water park right at the end of the road but again you can't hear any noise from there. The front at Playa Blanca is lovely to walk along at night and there's loads of places to eat and drink.

Contact from Jeff is brilliant.

All in all this has been a wonderful holiday and we are all hoping to return in the future.

Car: recommended

10 minute walk to Playa Flamingo which has a child-friendly beach. Playa Papagayo's rustic beach is just a little further down the road (15 minute drive).

Arrecifie Airport is 30 minutes from the villa, and taxis are available (single fare from airport to villa approximately 60 euros). Most places are walking distance so it is not essential to have a car, however it would be an advantage if you'd like to explore the island in more depth. Car rental starts from around £120/week.

Casa Manana is just a 10 mins walk from "Playa Flamingo" which has a small beach, restaurants, cafes and shops. At Playa Blanca, just a 20 minute walk from the villa, you will be spoilt for eating places; there are restaurants to suit all tastes. 80% of these face out to sea and Fuerteventura, which just adds to that "holiday feel"!

Further Details:

There is a newly built Aqua Park and out door Lido (built 2012) literally at the bottom of our road. It is not visible from our villa nor can you can hear it but is a huge bonus for families with children.
