Villa in Ferragudo, Western Algarve, Portugal - On Edge of Village and near Famous Sandy Beach of Praia Grande

Casa do Capitao (Tourist licence 18722/AL) is situated on the edge of a small well-designed development of attractive villas. Only a 5 minute walk to the nearest cafes, shop and chemist and a little further to the village centre with bank, shops, bars and restaurants. The village is on the waterside and is still home to some old fisherfolk. Across the river is the market and fishing port of Portimao with its marina and beach resort of Praia da Rocha. Going eastwards from the villa is a short walk to the lovely beach of Praia Grande maybe 10 minutes going and perhaps 20 minutes back so we do recommend a hired car for those with children. Carvoeiro is only a 10 minute drive with tennis courts and golf courses and another selection of restaurants.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is Praia Grande, a lovely sand beach, which is a 10 minute walk away. There are several beach bars open for lunch and dinner.

Travel:

Faro Airport is a 45 minute drive away. We recommend car hire at this villa but adults and walkers could well be happy without one.

Changeover Day:
Flexible changeover day. Arrivals should not expect to enter the villa before 14:00 hours and departures must leave by 10:00 hours. These rules may be able to be relaxed but on application only please.

Notes on prices:
The rents above are per week in UK pounds for 3-4 people.
Please apply for the rates for 2 people (except in the Peak season of 16 July to 27 August when there is no reduction).
Pool heating is an extra £80 per week; a pre heat is £60.
Air-conditioning is an extra £60 per week.
Security/breakage deposit is £250 to pay in cash on arrival or by bank transfer before arrival.

A deposit of 25% is payable on booking. The balance should be paid 8 weeks before the start of the holiday.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The villa is well fitted with air-conditioning/heating units in the living room and bedrooms (note extra payment for these). It also has a security alarm system, smoke alarm system, a safe, and has wi-fi connection. The property is completely fenced and gated. Children are welcome at the responsibility of their parents. Outside: There is a lovely large garden with a large area of lawn ideal for the young to play on. The surrounds have been planted with shrubs and there is an attractive old olive tree by the pool. The beautiful blue tiled pool is 8 x 4 metres and is 1.5 metres deep; it has metal steps at one end and is filtered and serviced by a firm every week. The pool has a cover on a roller which may be used at any season; the pool may be heated by a heat pump at extra cost. There are 4 sunbeds and a table and 6 chairs for outside use. There is a portable barbecue. There are 2 terraces on the first floor. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The villa will be cleaned every week when the towels and bed linen will be changed.
