About Mrs L Wright

We are very keen to ensure that all our guests have the holiday of a lifetime, with all needs being catered for. We really do try to think of everything that a guest might need. Many of our guests return year after year they love our properties so much. We want our properties to have those little extras that make a holiday special.

Mrs L Wright purchased this house in 2004

Why Mrs L Wright chose Perranporth

We purchased Westmount for many reasons: probably one of the best properties in Perranporth; the fantastic location in the beautiful, peaceful countryside of Cornwall; proximity to Perranporth and St Agnes with their wonderful beaches; the spacious, split-level, accommodation affording generous accommodation for a large family; 4 bedrooms having en-suite bathrooms plus a further bedroom and family bathroom; conservatories - allowing you to relax in the sun all day and see the sunset in the evening - with that glass of wine; amazing views across the countryside towards Perranporth; easy links to all parts of Cornwall - making it a very central point to explore all that the County has to offer; access to great, coastal walks on your doorstep.

Great property in a peaceful location.

What makes this house unique

Whilst staying at Westmount you will enjoy: luxurious accommodation, 5 bedrooms - 4 with en-suites, a great range of built-in features including excellent WiFi; Sky TV; ventilation system providing fresh air in most rooms; solar panels; oil fired central heating to name but a few. Large, established gardens - great for relaxing or the children to play in, great views from a brilliant vantage point.

The ground floor is perfect for older relatives or teenagers as it has a bedroom with en-suite plus an open-plan lounge / diner / galley kitchen - great for gran and grandad to have a bit of peace of quiet when they need it.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Just wanted to drop a line to say how much we enjoyed our stay at WestMount The house was well equipped for the 10 of us! And we didn't use the downstairs! You were so accommodating organising extra cots/high chairs. Fabulous house/location, immaculately clean, can't speak highly enough.

"Thanks for a wonderful stay in westmount haven, we felt very much at home and the space was brilliant, my wife and I slept downstairs with the baby in the living room, while the rest of the family enjoyed a lie in, upstairs in the main level, so it all worked out great."

"I just wanted to take a moment and write to tell you how much we

appreciated our stay and all the work you and you staff put in to making

the visit an easy, stress free, and wonderful time. Everything was

absolutely lovely. We were all impressed and it served our needs

even better than I could have imagined. We will definitely be keeping

you at the forefront for future visits. I can't think of a single

complaint."

The house has two lovely conservatories which offer views over the garden and the valley beyond. One receives the sun for the whole of the day and provides a great view of the sunset behind the distant hills in the evening. These both lead onto patio areas. To make your holiday even more relaxing a comprehensive Welcome pack is provided. There is a separate, double glazed outbuilding housing a Games Room and Bar in the garden. Outside: The property sits in the middle of 3/4 of an acre of garden which is planted with a range of shrubs and trees. The garden is bathed in sunshine/light throughout the day (weather permitting) and there are plenty of lawned, decked and patio areas to enjoy the fabulous views, dine outdoors, play with the children/grandchildren, read a book and just relax! There is a separate, double glazed outbuilding housing a Games Room and Bar in the garden. This includes a childs' multi-game table, dart board, table and chairs, bar area with bar stools. French doors open to a raised decking area with outdoor table and chairs - lovely views down the valley towards Perranporth. Great for a family celebration. A range of outdoor furniture is provided. There is ample parking for at least 6 cars on a private, tarmacadam driveway. Utility Room: American fridge/freezer with ice maker and cold water on tap. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Slate floor. Door to rear garden. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are included and changed once a week - but there is a large washing machine and tumble dryer in utility room. Cleaned prior to arrival to a very high standard. Vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing boards, some cleaning materials in the utility. Other: Large, ground floor room equipped with own galley kitchen (small fridge, cooker sink), sofas, table/chairs, TV, DVD etc. House is split level with majority of living and sleeping areas on the 1st floor. There is a Games Room and Bar in the garden.

Very nice and spacious which we needed..

  • 4 of 5

Set in generous grounds with ample parking for several cars the rooms were large enough as were the beds. Not too far from the beach either. Slight issue running out of hot water on day one but once we all agreed to be a little more sensible in shower times all was good.. Liked the self-confidence tai ed downstairs suite with its own Lounge and mini kitchen though didn't use it..

Fabulous house and great location

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived, I knew we'd made a good choice. The house was immaculate and very well maintained. They had thought of everything we could possibly need and the welcome hamper provided was the best I've ever seen - the scones and clotted cream didn't touch the sides! The weather was sadly disappointing but the games areas meant we were never bored - there was something for everyone. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and TV's in each room were very welcome for a leisurely start to the day with a coffee in bed :) The location was great as it is only just over a mile from the centre of town, but take a torch if you're planning on walking back late at night. Perranporth beach is stunning and only a 20 minute stroll from the house or there is a large car park just behind the beach. All in all a perfect place to stay - would highly recommend.

Owner's Response: Thanks very much - glad that you enjoyed your stay. We do like to make sure that our guests have a good welcome hamper - just so there are some provisions in case of a late arrival. Glad the beds are comfortable - that's so important. The position of Westmount Haven is ideal - close to Perranporth and the marvellous beach, but a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the busy seaside village.

Great home.Great location

  • 5 of 5

Great home arrived about 3:30pm to be greeted to a lovery welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, eggs, scones, jam, butter even 4 cans of beer and a bottle of wine. House was very clean and smelt very fresh. All the rooms great especially master bedroom with a very comfable huge bed in it which you just sank into. All other beds were very comfy too I have been told. A nice gentle stoll to the main town about 20 mins walk down a little country lane.

Only little issue very poor phone signal for mobile phones which is understandable when you look at the location and the surroundings. Afterall why ruin it by sticking up dirty great big phone masts. So maybe consider having a land line installed with limited access to local jumbers only? As one of our group had mobility issues ringing a local taxi and things was a slight issue for us.

If it was my house I would just have a proper pool table in the outside games room and move the other stuff into the childs games room just off the childrens bedroom.

Overall fantastic house, great facitities for all ages will definatly be returning in the future.

Owner's Response: Thanks very much for your review. Sorry about the issues with the mobile signal - there has been an on-going problem with the mobile phone mast in Perranporth for the last few weeks though - no signal at all any where in the village! There is a landline at the property, so I shall definitely investigate setting it up for local calls only. The property does have super-fast BT Infinity broadband and, depending on the provider, it is possible to use this for calls on a mobile. I am also about to purchase a new pool table - it won't be full size but larger than the existing one. Many thanks for your helpful comments / suggestions Hope to welcome you back in the future.

Amazing House & Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful week in Perranporth. I travelled with our family & dog – 9 of us in total if you include my little niece (10 if you include the dog!).

The house is perfectly situated for the beach & town, just a 20 minute stroll down to the lovely beach. The whole area is very dog friendly – there is a great pub on the beach full of happy people, dogs & sand – feels very relaxed & we had many a lunch & drink there.

The house is huge, with a self-contained part on the ground floor – big bed & en suite with a small kitchen a lovely sized lounge. Upstairs you have the main kitchen which is a nice big size, fridge freezer, cooker, microwave etc in there but also a huge American style fridge freezer in the utility room leading to the garden (that was our beer fridge!) also a big washing machine & dryer in there. Lovely big lounge/dining room with great views all around. All but one of the rooms were en suite but anyone in that room can use the main bathroom next door. 2 of the rooms had a double bed & a single. Could of done with a dressing table with a mirror for doing hair & makeup in most rooms (one did have this) but there was a mirror so not much of an issue, just had to stand. The garden was lovely & our dog had great fun exploring! It’s a suntrap in the morning & we had our breakfast out there most mornings. The house was lovely & clean with all bedding & towels included. Our bed (master bedroom) was like sleeping on a cloud, so comfy but not all the beds was as comfy but nothing terrible & certainly not worth a complaint.

The house is a perfect base for visiting other areas, St Ives is about a 30 minute drive, Hollywell & Crantock 20-15 mins, Newquay about 10, plus many more places nearby.

I would highly recommend this house & this area. We will be back to Perranporth & back to this house.

Owner's Response: Hi Lizzie So glad that you had a good holiday and enjoyed Westmount. Thanks very much for taking the time to write a review. So pleased that you thought all was lovely and clean - as my ladies do put a lot of effort into this, so I shall let them know. I've taken note of your feedback about dressing tables and will test out all the beds as well. They are all quite new and of a good quality - but some may be firmer than others - but at the end of the day, beds are very important for our guests, so I shall follow that up. I would like to buy another bed, like the one in the master bedroom, for myself - but unfortunately Relyon don't make it any more. Thanks again. Hope to welcome you all back in the future to Westmount or one of other properties.

Spectacular, warm and welcoming

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful long weekend in this gorgeous house, with my elderly parents and some friends. The house was in beautiful condition, with big and airy rooms, a wide range of communal areas (we didn't even begin to use them all!) lots of parking, a gorgeous and very well kept garden, and wonderfully clean.

When we arrived there was a lovely welcome basket which we would knew would be there, but didn't expect it to be quite so welcoming! As well as some staples, we even had scones, jam and clotted cream, YUMMY!

I would not hesitate to recommend West Mount Haven. The locations is gorgeous, the house has stunning views with great big windows. We hosted lunch for 16 family and friends on Saturday, and there was no shortage of cooking space, crockery or chairs at all.

We are already planning our next visit!

A wonderful stay in a fabulous house

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of six adults and three children and found the property well suited to our needs.

Communication from the owner was brilliant and any problem we had was resolved very quickly.

We really, really appreciated the comprehensive welcome pack! Some nice touches in there including scones, clotted cream and jam.

The property was secluded, not looked over and had plenty of parking. The annexe was great.

Well maintained and clean throughout. The ensuite bathrooms were most welcome and the kids enjoyed the big bath.

Nicely situated just outside perranporth and ideal for getting to Newquay.

Thank you!
