About the property

Very well equipped 2 bedroom apartment with amazing views. Sleeps up to 6 people. Close to all amenities. Perfect for families.

Our apartment is located in a small traditional styled chalet building a few minutes from the ski lift. It's spacious and light and will sleep 5 very comfortably (7 if you use the sofa bed). It's only one of 4 apartments in the building which has a huge south facing balcony with stunning views down the valley and of Le Fare waterfall. It is equipped as our second home so it's full of dvd's, games, books, deckchairs for sunbathing on the balcony plus the obligatory wifi. It's not your typical bland ski rental apartment. It's an excellent base for winter and summer holidays. We provide a garage for bike storage in the summer and a big ski locker for storage of ski equipment. It's only a few minutes walk to the lifts, leisure centre, shops and restaurants but it's in a quiet private street location (no passing traffic except for access).

We are a family of 5 who just fell in love with Vaujany. We were lucky enough to be able to buy a lovely apartment for our family holidays about 3 years ago. It's like our second home and it's equipped with everything a family needs for a comfortable holiday. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Why Jenny McClement chose Vaujany

We bought in Vaujany because it has the charm of a beautiful mountain village but you can easily access the fantastic ski area of Alpe D'Huez. It's also great in the summer - you can be lazy and sunbath on the south facing balcony, enjoying the views or you can be really active and enjoy the biking and walking trails. There really is something for everyone!

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is great because it's right by the ski lift - not having to walk too far with kids was very important for us!! It's also at the front of the apartment block so it has fantastic views and is extremely light and airy. In the summer you can open up the sliding balcony doors and take advantage of the huge L shaped balcony.

"We stayed in a lovely 2-bedroom apartment for the last two weeks of August. The apartment itself is very well furnished and furnished to quite a high standard. It was spotless when we arrived and very well maintained. There is a great balcony area with impressive views. The apartment is located in the lower end of the village, so a very quiet setting. The village also has several 'animations' for all the family and we also used the kids club for our young daughter and were very pleased with it.

The apartment also comes with a garage which is very handy. The local leisure centre is just a few minutes walk where there is a pool for adults and kids, sauna, hammam, jacuzzi and gym area.The village also has a bus service, so you don't need to use your car to go to the bigger towns nearby.There are plenty of walks in summer time in the vicinity and plenty to keep all the family amused. Fabulous escape

Lovely quiet and clean apartment with mountain views, friendly and helpful welcome.

Very close to fast and efficient lifts with no queues. Good equipment from nearby Atou sports (reserved online).

Plenty of skiing - both beginner and expert catered for.

And the weather was glorious..

Coast/Beach:

It's about a 3 hour drive to Marseille

Travel:

Approximately 65km from Grenoble (about 1 hour and 15 mins driving time). It is about 2 hours and 30 mins from Geneva, Lyon and Chambery Airports. Car hire is not essential as it is possible to get a bus or taxi transfer from Grenoble Airport. There are free bus transfers on a Saturday and Sunday.

Distances:

Within walking distance to all amenities. Nearest large town is Bourg D'Oisans which is approximately 15 mins drive away.

Further Details:

Vaujany is an ideal base for both Winter and Summer holidays. It is a traditional French village in the heart of the Oisan Mountains. In the winter you can enjoy the fantastic Grand Rousses ski area, which includes Alpe d'Huez, plus other activities such as ice skating, ice climbing and tobogganing. In the Summer, Vaujany offers a huge variety of marked trails for walkers and mountain bikers. The lift system is open throughout July and August and it takes bikes. Other summer sports include; tennis, white-water rafting, fishing, paragliding, horse-riding and golf. If you enjoy road cycling then Vaujany is a great base - it is only 15 minutes from Bourg D'Oisans - you could try the infamous Marmotte climb!

Booking Notes:
We require £100 deposit and then the full balance 8 weeks prior to departure. We have an English couple who will meet and greet you. They will ask for a £200 refundable damage deposit (cheque or cash) which is returned on your departure. We ask that the apartment is "left as found" please. Cleaning can be provided at 75 euros - this is optional

Changeover Day:
Preferred change over day is Saturday although this is flexible during low season. We can also offer long weekends for cyclists or walkers.
