Guestbook comments from the owner

Our holiday at Casa Lucchesi has always been a memorable experience. This was our 4th time staying with you. You've been helpful and conciderate with your warm hospitality. Thank you once again! Leigh Family, Montrèal Canada

My wife and I had several opportunities to go shopping and on excursions while our children stayed at Casa Lucchesi playing with other children doing activities and swimming. Our children just wanted to play and have fun. What a great idea for families. Grazie mille, Gretchen & Eugen Berlin

We enjoyed our stay in rural Tuscany, sharing the home of a young Italian Canadian family who've travelled around the world and brought their experiences and knowledge. Our hosts were very kind, generous & our Tuscan dinner was exceptional. The train access was a bonus as we didn't want to drive. We will surely return. Sandra & Rob Newcastle, England.

Truly tuscan holiday-warm welcoming hosts

  • 5 of 5

An excellent location - a 2 minute walk to the train station where regular trains take you straight into nearby Lucca. (Approx 4 minute journey) The property garden has great facilites for families with children wanting to spend a day by the pool. A fully equipped outdoor kitchen, gazebo, dining area, games, inflatable toys and a toilet and shower. The apartment was beautifully clean with air conditioning. Our hosts Mirko, Tania and Damiano were warm and welcoming, we were driven to a nearby supermarket on arrival, supplied with pastries from Mirko's bakery and invited to an extended 'Italian' family dinner party by the pool - one of the hilights of our stay. We would reccommend this property to sociable families with children who want to combine sightseeing - or trips to gorgeous nearby Lucca or Viareggio with lazy days spent by the pool. It's perfect for parents who want their children to get a flavour of 'real' Italy - for example at night the nearby park/library/outdoor cinema/bar offers a wonderful chance for parents to sip a chilled glass of prosecco while the kids play on the swings with the local Italian children in full view. Although we didn't use it - Tania also runs a kids holiday camp on site - so it's perfect for parents who might want to get a few days away by themselves. All in all a wonderful holiday and many thanks to Tania, Mirko and Damiano for letting us share their beautiful home and garden for a week - still missing those mountain views!

Everything exceeded our expectations.

Ideal location for public transport to various locations. The accommodation was comfortable and clean, and had everything for all family members especially the children. Local bars and restaurants were within walking distance, and represented good quality and value for money.

My 2 daughters and I were very very sad to leave casa lucchesi in Capannori last week..

We stayed 15 nights in the lovely accommodation provided by our very friendly and helpful hosts Tania and Mirko. From the time I booked the accommodation in November 2015 Tania and I kept in contact where Tania made sure she was able to meet all of our needs during our stay. We were made so welcome when collected by lovely Barbara from Pisa airport. On our way to Casa Lucchesi Barbara pointed out area's of interest. On arrival at Casa Lucchesi we were met by Tania and Mirko who instantly made us feel so welcomed and we knew we were going to love the whole experience of staying with an Italian (/Canadian) family.

On our first day Tania showed us around Capannori and we were able to do some food shopping and wine tasting at the local shops..The fun had started..!

Tania and Mirko made us dinner that evening and we ate all'aperto. Our hosts were so easy to get along with and we were able to get a real feel for the Italian way of life and gain knowledge of the local area etc.

We spent days by the pool in the garden, which we had to ourselves all holiday and my 5 year swam alone for the first time. We also jumped on the train 5 mins from the accommodation to visit viareggio beach, Pisa, Florence and many trips to Lucca. It was such an overwhelming feeling to visit such beautiful places, which were so close to get to. Tania gave us all the information we needed to travel including time tables and we could even buy some train tickets for our first journeys..

We were also lucky enough to be taken to the families camp site accommodation by the beach many times during our stay and we partied with Tania, Mirko their son Damiano amongst other family members and their friends. We were made to feel so welcomed and we treasure all the memories and experiences we made and had. My young daughter got so much attention and play with the family and she still talks about Franko (Mirkos lovely brother) as they became great friends :-). We had a fab evening of the foam party and laser light show..

This holiday has been absolutely amazing and we will definitely return. So many happy memories for my daughters and I. Only 2 downfalls were how much the mosquitos loved me but a visit to the local pharmacy to purchase amoxicillin, anti histamines, aloe vera and insect repellent and I was fine within a day & having to leave Casa Lucchesi :-(.

A huge thank you Tania, Mirko & Damiano x

Lovely week in Tusacny

  • 4 of 5

Had a lovely week staying at this property and managed to get around without a car. Train station very close but you do need to check timetables (there weren't any trains between approx 9:15 - 13:00). We also found it more convenient to buy tickets online (there is no ticket office at the station, the alternative is to but at a local shop). We went to Lucca a couple of times - a lovely old town, to Pisa, Viareggio and to Florence (very beautiful). However, without a car we couldn't experience the mountains and countryside so will have to return to do that!

The property is in a good location, in a quiet village with a shop, bakers, and butchers and good links to tourist locations. Accomodation was up a couple of flights of stairs in a lovely old farmhouse (shared with the oweners), meeting most general requirements. The garden, outside kitchen and pool were also available to use. We also found a lovely restaurant within walking distance: Ristorante Forino.

Tania and her husband are very friendly and helpful; we were taken to the local supermarket on arrival to stock up on groceries, shown around the local town, entertained with a bbq on our last evening and also driven to Lucca railway station to catch our train back to the airport.

To summarise, we had a lovely relaxing week with everything we required close to hand.

Exactly as described by the owner and the photographs

  • 5 of 5

Tania and Mirko were the most welcoming of hosts, from organising our taxi transfers to the airport to ensuring we had everything we needed and all the information we required to make our holiday exactly what we wanted it to be.

The property was clean, comfortable and the air conditioning was well worth paying a little extra for.

The week we were there the weather was super hot which meant we didn't want to do too many excursions. We used the fabulous and convenient train service to take trips to the beach at Viareggio and to explore Lucca.

We made full use of the swimming pool, the outside eating facilities, the pool table and the football pitch. The kids were never bored and didn't feel they needed to go anywhere else.

The owners say this is a chance to experience Tuscan village life and this is absolutely true. As our daughter speaks a little Italian the locals really appreciated this and could not have been friendlier.

We would have no hesitation recommending this property to anyone wanting to have an authentic Italian holiday and we will definitely be returning.

True italy

  • 5 of 5

We have recently returned from a Family holiday here. This property is for someone who likes to sample a true rustic italian holiday in a local town. There is a train station nearby, which we used throughout our holiday , travelled into Lucca many times , which is an amazing walled city, Pisa, Florence, Viareggio & Forte di Marmie . The property is rustic, clean, pool , a well equipped Gazebo area, with games, cards, music. The owners are very hospitable , they could not help enough. The local town has all you need, restaurants, supermarket, Bakeries, chemists etc. We will definitely be visiting again, planning for a week next year already.
