About the Owner

My husband and I live and work in the Cotswolds and have two teenage daughters. We discovered Port Isaac when we were on our honeymoon twenty years ago and fell in love with it then. We have been coming back ever since.

Now that Doc Martin has put Port Isaac on the map we are delighted that more people are coming to enjoy this special location. We get a kick out of seeing our front door on camera.

Port Isaac is also home to the now famous Fishermen's Friends singers and we take pleasure in seeing them perform on the Platt every Friday evening from 8 p.m. during the summer months.

Disappointed Guests

We didn't feel that the apartment meet its description.

The dishwasher didn't work, although the apartment was spacious it was tired and the covers on the sofa were soiled, the yard where the washing line was,was covered in moss and green waste. The stairs to two of the bedrooms was very steep and there was no where to hang clothes only drawers.

The customer care was unsatisfactory and we wouldn't recommend it to a friend or relative.

Arrived late after long flight to UK. The drive in from London - once turning in off main highway was more than a challenge. The roads are a wee bit narrow. WILD ride, with very little signage

The write up indicates a washer and dryer. I cannot find the dryer. Also, there is no power to the dishwasher???

The flat is spacious and welcoming and comes with two double beds, a bunk bed, and I think the couch pulls out.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. We appreciate your feedback. I checked our listing and can't see a reference to a dryer as we don't have one. However if you spot where you picked up that impression please let me know as I will most definitely correct it. Just to mention the power to the dishwasher had unfortunately been turned off by a previous guest. However once this was established it was quickly restored. Thank you for describing the apartment as spacious and welcoming. I hope you will come and visit us again.

Charming cottage right in the heart of Port Isaac

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I loved staying here. The cottage was extremely well presented and had everything you needed. The location was superb for all the restaurants and most importantly the pub. The locals are so friendly, and their slower pace of life was infectious. We feel totally recharged after a week here and we will be returning.

Well located in the centre of town but very difficult to find as the property is not numbered.

Wifi did not work the entire time we were there and a technician was not sent.

The upstairs bedrooms are up a very steep staircase so not suitable for the young or elderly.

Cottage is warm and comfortable.

Owner's Response: Unfortunately BT failed during Eileen's stay as there was a broadband outage in the area. This was beyond our control but we tried everything we could to investigate and resolve the problem. This included arranging a conference call between BT Tech Support, ourselves and our guests to try to resolve ths as we knew just how important it was to Eileen's family. This is the first time this has happened in ten yeats and is now fixed.

A truly delightful cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Perfectly located right in the heart of Port Isaac, this cottage makes an excellent base to enjoy the delights of Port Isaac and explore the local countryside. It is just a few steps from the beach, local, pubs and a selection of restaurants. The cottage itself was very comfortably furnished, nice and warm (it was January) and well equipped I would certainly recommend it.

A magical place!

  • 5 of 5

The house is right in the heart of Port Isaac, you literally cant get any closer to the middle of this wonderful little fishing village. This is my third visit and I cant wait to return. The house is like home from home, beautifully furnished comfortable and remarkably quiet considering its location. I cant recommend it highly enough for a fabulous relaxing break by the sea.

From the Owner

When the opportunity came up to buy the apartment in 2006 we jumped at the chance because it is perfectly positioned in the centre of the village. Over the next eighteen months we undertook extensive renovations to turn it into a comfortable, high spec home from home. We try to get down there as often as possible as we love the surrounding area, walking the coastal path and visiting some of the glorious North Cornwall beaches. We hope you will like it as much as we do.

From the Owner

What we enjoy most about the apartment is the open feel to the sitting room where you can sit and watch the world go by from the window. When you are cooking you are still all together which makes it a great entertainment space. We also like to be able to wander from the front door and have a choice of places to eat right on our doorstep.
