4 bedroom townhouse in enclosed development with shared pool and outdoor jacuzzi. On ground floor there is a good sized fully equipped kitchen, downstairs toilet, and large open plan lounge diner. The private patio has a BBQ and an outdoor shower. On first floor there are two double bedrooms one en-suite with hydro-massage shower, another large double bathroom with hydro-massage bath. Air-conditioning throughout. Patio area to rear with table and chairs and BBQ for outdoor dining, satellite TV and DVD.

About Peter

We live in Dublin and love the quiet simplicity of life in Manta Rota.

We love walks on the beach, cycling to Cacela Velha, Fuseta or Tavira and have friends and family stay for a good barbecue.

The restaurants are all within walking distance with excellent sea food caught locally that day.

Take a boat trip out to the island off Tavira or up the Guadiana river that separates Portugal and Spain.

Seville is just 2 hours away.

Outside: The communal areas for the condominium are well maintained, the pool is a good size and there are large showers by the pool side, there is also a jacuzzi to enjoy at the end of a long day relaxing in your holiday home. There is a private parking space in the gates of the condominium for each house. The security is good because there is a video entry phone from each house, and a remote control for the gate opening. Utility Room: Iron and ironing table included. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels included. Other: Outdoor sun loungers and patio table and chairs.

The beach is 6 minutes walk away and stretches for miles. There are lifeguards and sunbeds with sunshades for hire. In the Winter months it is quiet and is a great place to relax, you can take bike rides to Cacela Velha with it's traditional church, old fortress and gorgeous views over the Rio Formoso, the beach is long and wide and stretches from Cacela Velha through to Vila Real San Antonio the border town with Spain.


Faro airport is approx 35-40 mins drive away. From Faro airport, follow signs for Espanha. Either exit at Tavira by turning left on to the EN125 towards Vila Real de Santo Antonio and Manta Rota is signposted on the right; alternatively exit at Monte Gordo turning right on to the EN125 towards Altura, Manta Rota is signposted on the left. The nearest railway station is 15 minutes walk from the house in neighbouring Vila Nova de Cacela. Local taxis and buses are within 3 min walk.


The old town of Tavira 9 miles / 14km sits on 2 hills connected by a seven-arched 'Roman' (actually Moorish) bridge over the River Gilao boasting many fine 18th century buildings along with its 37 churches. Cacela Velha 1 mile / 1.5km an old fishing village situated in the protected Ria Formosa coastal landscape. Monte Gordo 5 miles / 8km with its casino. Ayemonte (Spain) 13 miles / 20km with its picturesque marina on the Guadiana River. Alcoutim is 30kms North.

Further Details:

Manta Rota is an expanding beach resort, it is low rise and with few apartments. It has a village feel there are good restaurants and many cafes.

North of the villa is an area of outstanding natural beauty alongside the Guadiana river, past the great dams of Beliche and Odeleite and on up to Alcoutim.
