About the property

Villa in Pozo del Esparto, Almeria, Spain - Peaceful Location With Extensive Sea Views. Virtually on the beach and approx 5 Mins From San Juan.

Situated in a fabulous position on a very picturesque and secluded beach. This new, private gated community boasts a lovely communal pool with baby pool and communal gardens. Our villa has a secure parking bay and is end of terrace, conveniently right next to the pool (great for keeping an eye on the kids). The sea views from the sun terrace are stunning and you can see all along the coast. It is peaceful, yet you are only 5 minutes away from San Juan, with all its shops, restaurants and superb beach bars (take a bucket and spade!) and 20 min from Mojacar. For golfers there is the 'must play' Desert Springs just 10 min away plus Valle d'Este, Cortijo Grande, Aguilon and Marina Golf, Mojacar. For kids of all ages there is the Aqua Park close by in Vera Playa or a bit further away the Wild West Show where they filmed the Spaghetti Westerns. All in all, a great location for both relaxing family holidays and golfing trips.

Why Claire Smith chose Pozo del Esparto

Location,Location and Location. The three elements that make a property desirable. Our property ticked all three boxes for us. Right on the beach (very private). Fantastic views - the amazing coastal road coming from the Almeria direction sold it to us before we even got there! Swimming pool right next to it. Peaceful yet close to San Juan. Nature reserve next to the complex, so no more building allowed. Unspoilt yet great for kids (very safe) with water park not far away. The golf's excellent and nearby. What more do you want?

What makes this villa unique

All mod cons in the villa and sunbathing all day on the roof terrace along with ground floor and master bedroom terraces, so there's no excuse for not coming back with a decent tan! Spacious, with both TV and DVD player (we've left several decent dvd's and books there for you - the kids like it and sometimes it's good to watch a movie with a glass or two in the evening if you can't be bothered to go out). There is also WiFi available at reasonable cost.

We had a lovely time. We found the villa to be clean, modern and well located. Lovely sea views from the sun terrace. We liked being next to the pool. It's pretty quiet though, which suited us and was very safe for the children. We would say that a car is essential. Would definitely recommend it and hope to go back. Really enjoyed the peace and quiet. We loved the mornings and evenings when you just hear the sea. The community is very well maintained. Very clean and a lovely pool. Would definitely like to go back. Ron & Jacqui Spellman, Kettering.

We had a very nice holiday in this villa with our three children who loved being on the beach and then coming back to the pool afterwards. There is a good water park about 20 minutes away which made a nice change for them. We also had a great day out at the Wild West Show where we went horse riding! The villa was well equipped and clean. We are happy to recommend it. The Gibbin family, Gravesend.

Portable room heaters available for cooler weather. Outside: Ground floor patio with table, chairs with parasol, separate sun loungers furniture and sea views. Private secure parking. Large sun terrace on roof with stunning views. Sun terrace to master bedroom also with sea views. Situated next to communal pool/outside showers with very easy access. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels are included (please bring your own beach towels). Guests are able to wash linen and towels if required. Otherwise cleaning before and after occupation is included in the price.

Great property in a great location

Very roomy & spacious with pool literally next door (& the sea in front)which was used daily by our 4 & 5 year old.

Great quiet beaches with little or no development heading south with great snorkelling. The town of Aguilas is only a 15 - 20 mins drive with an abundance of supermarkets & shops. Great place if you crave peace & quiet away from the highly developed touristed areas of the Costa Blanca.

Spacious, well equipped town house

Really enjoyed our stay here. A quiet area just outside San Juan but there are a couple of local bars within walking distance. House is almost directly on the beach and the communal swimming pool was immaculately maintained and a pleasure to use. It was empty most of the time we were there. House was well equipped and it was really nice that the owners had left some of their beach/pool equipment for people to use. It saved us buying beach mats, deck chairs, umbrella etc. Internet was excellent and fast and there was a very wide range of UK TV channels available.

The following comments are purely my own observations and might help you plan your holiday accordingly. The beach next to the house was flat calm some days but on others the breakers were big so don't bank on it being a beach that would always be suitable for small children. The sand is dark and coarse and there are a few rocks around. We loved it as it was more interesting. (There are other beaches close by that are more traditional). The house does not have fly screens at the windows so as dusk falls it is best to keep the windows closed to reduce access to flying creatures. This then cuts down on the through breeze so it can become hot indoors. We were there in July and the ceiling fans found it difficult to cope with the heat. A few floor standing fans would have come in handy. The beds are very, very firm but I recognise this is purely a personal preference.

Perfect position for beach lovers

This was a clean and spacious property in good order and in an excellent location. Fantastic views from the roof solarium. The swimming pool and grounds were spotless and secure on this small gated development. The owners were very helpful. Perfect for a relaxing holiday but a car is essential as there is no transport and the nearest supermarkets and restaurants are a good ten minutes drive away. Fantastic paella restaurant within a 10 minute stroll along the beachfront which only opens until 5pm until 1st August. After that it's open in the evening too as that is when the Spanish people begin their holidays. I have no hesitation in recommending this for a quiet, get-away-from-it-all holiday and intend to rent it again for next summer. Only sorry we left it too late to book for this summer!

Frontline location - 20m to beach! (Virtually step out onto it!). The beach is picturesque, a mix of sand and shale with rock pools, easily accessible for swimming. Nice and quiet. Lovely views along the coastline. San Juan is 10 mins away, which is livelier with regular sand and beach bars! The coastal road to and from Vera Playa is really stunning, with viewing points dotted along it, where you can stop the car and take it all in. It is hard to keep your eyes on the road!


Both Almeria and Murcia airports are just under an hour's drive with Alicante approx 2 hours. The new Murcia airport is due to be finished soon and will be closer still. All main roads are generally very clear. A car is recommended.


San Juan de los Terreros is 10 mins by car. Mojacar is 25 mins.

Vera Playa 15 mins. Garrucha 15 mins.

Further Details:

Thee local restaurants within walking distance. Great paella, very cheap! One local store. Main shops, restaurants, supermarkets, banks etc in San Juan, Vera Playa or Garrucha.
