About the Owner

We are Mandy and Jon and we live in Wimbledon with our two daughters Alice & Emily. Mandy is an event manager and Jon manages quality for a digital technology company.

We first fell in love with Istria in 2005 and our first property came shortly afterwards. We now have 3 beautifully restored properties in amazing locations.

We have always taken our holidays in privately rented villas or houses and have often been disappointed with the quality and style of accommodation that is provided.

We set out on this venture in Istria with a vision to create ‘rustic but stylish’ accommodation to a quality level that allows us to enjoy our valuable holiday time at anyone of our properties.

We believe we have succeeded and 9 years of amazing feedback from OD guests also supports this.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Istria is a beautiful region to explore and the village is ideally situated. Overall, we found villa to be superb, exactly what we were looking for. Thank you!"

"This was our first visit to Istria and we absolutely loved it. Beautiful, so much to see, and we enjoyed the most perfect weather. The house was ideal: plenty to keep the kids entertained (play area, pool, movie library), beautifully and sympathetically renovated to a high spec, well equipped, and in a lovely setting."

"We had a great time thanks - everything went really well and we loved the place. Great for a really relaxing holiday. We really appreciated the movie library by the way -the teens worked their way through them and the kids films were popular with the 10 year old and the rest of the party alike."

Peaceful & relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

Spent 14 days at the villa and it was as described, probably bigger than we expected, situated on a road with grape vines and olive groves. The house/barn was spacious and well maintained, bedrooms downstairs had air conditioning, which was a welcome addition during the hot nights, and bathroom was a good size with bath and large shower. The upstairs was open plan with settees and dinning table, well equipped kitchen area, shower room and tv with hard drive containing a good variety of films. There was also a supply of games and some books, we had with us our 15 month granddaughter and Mandy kindly arranged for us to have a loan of their travel cot, books, toys, and other items, very much needed!

The outside is as you see in the pictures, various areas to suit moods and age, the pool, of course being the favourite, it was a good size and the terrace large, with sun most of the day and comfortable loungers. BBQ area was situated near the pool, but tucked away so as to allow no interference with serious sun worshippers!

We travelled to a few places, one being Groznjan, the town on top of the hill which you see before getting to Lozari, beautiful old town with a couple of good restaurants and fantastic views, worth the visit. But, we found it hard to drag ourselves away from the tranquility and comfort of the villa!!

We would highly recommend Villa Lozari, it lived up to its expectations, and more, I would have no hesitation in returning - but I might need someone to drag me off the sun beds! Mandy left a very comprehensive folder of information, which was useful, and she was also very helpful during the booking with any queries I may have had.

Overall, a thoroughly lovely place, immaculate, comfortable, well situated and a joy to stay in.

Thank you Mandy & family.

Toller Urlaub mit eigenem Pool und Ruhe

  • 5 of 5

A amazing house, very well thought out and pr

  • 5 of 5

Just back from our holiday here and what a amazing place, the villa was beautiful with everything needed to have a long comfy stay. The rooms being downstairs is a great touch keeping the rooms cool on the lovely hot sunny days. It was a daily battle to get the kids out of the pool just to eat! They absolutely loved it, we all did. I would recommend this place over anywhere else I've stayed as the villa and Croatia and it's islands are second to none. Many thanks to Mandy the owner to, she is very helpful and pleasant to deal with. We will be back soon. James and Karen.

Beautifully Impressive retreat.

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the property after what became an increasingly wet afternoons drive and could have easily have dampened our spirits. However seeing the property emerge from a winding single hidden village lane, rapidly dried out our disappointment with the weather.

The house is beautiful. Actually more impressive than the owners describe via the photographs. The converted barn is huge. All furnishing is of a high quality with all facilities in full working order. Both bathrooms are particularly well fitted and designed. The layout of the lower ground where one sleeps is a triumph. The outside area is well equipped with plenty of sun loungers placed around the pool. Our children enjoyed the freedom that the property offered, making use of the tree swing, trampoline and quiet reading area immediately outside the entrance door. The owners appear to have thought of everything! The TV has a hard drive connected with an endless amount of categorised films (bare in mind, you won't find time to watch many of them).

The property is clean, well maintained and safe.

My family and I loved every minute of our stay and intend a return in the very near future. I highly recommend both the property and the beautiful country, Croatia as a holiday destination.

Great house, excellent location

  • 5 of 5

Casita Lozari has been an excellent choice for our holidays in Istria. The house itself is very comfortable and well-equipped. We found everything we needed and more. The location is great, nice surroundings with olive trees, vineyards and lovely views. Only 20 minutes from a nice beach and 5 minutes from the loveliest town of Groznjan. I definitely recommend it.

Location

From the Owner

Lozari is a proper Istrian hamlet surrounded by Olive Groves and Vineyards. Local life is farming and the village is quiet and peaceful with really never much happening. You are minutes away from all of the best stuff Istria has to offer - 20 mins to the coast, Grosnjan is 5 mins away and this is a little gem ... much better than the more famous hilltop village of Motovun (itself only 15 mins). Buje, Umag, Novigrad, Porec are all within easy reach. The waterpark 'Istralandia' is a great new addition to the area and again this is just 15 mins away. Sunset from the top of the hill (with a picnic in the vineyard) is really something special. So special that we decided to get married at Casita Lozari, our profile picture is from our wedding day next to the old courtyard wall.

Facilities

From the Owner

The property itself is awesome, an old stone barn from the outside with stylish and very comfortable accommodation inside - Our attention to style and detail is something that sets us apart from other owners. It's really hard to find stylish furniture in Croatia, but we think it is worth the effort! King sized beds, comfortable mattresses. 2 proper showers (not these dribbly things you get in some places) and a nice big bath. Free and unlimited WiFi means you can stay connected to the outside world (if you so wish). The upper terrace next to the gorgeous private swimming pool is enormous giving you, family and friends plenty of space to bask in the sun. A lower walled terrace with access from the bedrooms provides some privacy if you want to get away from the pool area.
