About Jon Leach

Hello, thank you for showing an interest in this lovely riverside property. We brought this property back in 2004 and had a most enjoyable time in France organising the complete refurbishment of the Villa,

Jon Leach purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Jon Leach chose Mouleydier

Just a fantastic imposing position overlooking the majestic river Dordogne. Very easy to get to as serviced by several economy airlines all year round. Locals are friendly.

What makes this cottage unique

The winter is very much shorter in Bergerac. The local food and wine is superb. The wine is not stuffed full of chemicals. The house and gardens offer us a grandeur we could not hope for in England or Ireland. This place has enriched our lives and gives us a fabulous escape.

Lovely stay at the Lodge

Would recommend as great location just outside Bergerac and near the airport. The Lodge has a great deck for sunbathing with lovely views over the Dordogne river.

Fantastic Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Jon & Oira were the perfect hosts. Very welcoming, helpful & knowledgable, whilst leaving us to our own devices. The lodge is a lovely place to stay, comfortable, well equipped & with a private garden that overlooks the Dordogne below. There is a Boulangerie 10 minutes walk away & we ate at Chateau Les Merles twice (which is a 15 minute walk) away in their courtyard which was quite enchanting. An abundance of delights in the area & we particularly enjoyed the Bastide towns. We hope to return for a longer stay in future.

Fantastic time had by all

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the Lodge with my partner, sister, brother in law and nephew for 1 week and we have just returned home. It was a great home from home with all comforts catered for including a fabulous Jacuzzi, which was well used over the week. In terms of location it couldn't have been better, very close to Bergerac and within a short drive of all the local attractions

We met the owners of the main house during our stay - John and Orla and they were both extremely accommodating and helpful. They also kindly showed us round Villa Acacias which was truly stunning.

We would definitely recommend staying in the Lodge (or the Villa) if you are looking for a home base in the area where you can feel relaxed and comfortable.

Many thanks to Jon for his warm welcome. We shall definitely be back.
