Spacoious villa with own pool. Sleeps 8. Set in extensive grounds with magnificent views in 3 directions. 15 minute walk to restaurants and shop.

Architect designed detached villa built in 2002 as a holiday home for 4 friends and wives in a beautiful valley within walking distance of the village of La Alqueria with shop, bar and restaurant, and close to the very Spanish towns of Alhaurin de la Torre and Alhaurin el Grande. Extensive grounds and large leisure areas. The villa has no immediate neighbours and the setting is both natural and tranquil with olive and carob trees, a natural rockery and the smell of wild lavender. Although close to the coast and the airport, you are more likely to hear goat bells than aircraft noise. Nearest golf course is 3 minutes drive, with many more nearby. Ronda, with the oldest bull ring in Spain and its famous gorge is only one hour away, and Cordoba (World Heritage Site), Seville and Granada can be reached in 2 hours by car or by train from Malaga Mainline Station with a local connection from Plaza Mayor (15 mins. drive) which has ample parking, a major shopping complex, cinema and bowling.

The villa site was bought in 2002 because of being just the right distance from the airport (25 minutes) to make frequent visits easy, but to have no problems with aircraft noise. Similarly with traffic; the resorts of the Costa del Sol are easily reached in 20-25 minutes, but we are remote from any traffic noise. Its situation means the villa is private, and has the most stupendous views across the valley. However, there are 2 restaurants, a bar and a shop within walking distance, as well as one of the prime golf courses in the area (especially for Colin!) The villa is the perfect place for chilling out, but is also within easy reach of the Costa del Sol resorts and the great cities of Andalucia if a little more excitement is required.

The beaches of Torremolinos are 20-25 mins drive away.


Malaga Airport is a 25 mins drive and car hire is essential.


The village is about a 15 minute walk and has 3 bar/restaurants and 1 shop. The town of Alhaurin de la Torre is about 10 mins drive and Alhaurin del Grande is about 20 mins in the other direction, both have a good selection of bars and restaurants. Plaza Mayor (15 mins) has a wide selection of shops, bars and amusements including a multi cinema complex and bowling alley.

Further Details:

A short drive to Mijas, and one hour to Ronda to see the amazing gorge and the oldest bullring in Spain. The beach resorts of the Costa del Sol lie between 30 mins and 1 1/2 hours drive away. Two hours from Cordoba, the historic Islamic capital of Spain with its famous mezquita, Granada and the Alhambra and the Alcazar in Seville. One hour to Antequera and the astonishing rock formations in the Torcal national park. Also the gorge and dam at El Chorro where they filmed Von Ryan's Express and the frightening Camino del Rey which clings to the side of the gorge.

A 25% deposit is require to secure the booking, and the balance is due four weeks before the departure.

We require a security bond payment on arrival of 200 euros agaist any substantial damage caused. This will be returned at the end of the stay minus 85 euros for cleaning costs.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is flexible.

25% deposit required. to secure the reservation. The balance is due 2 months before departure.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.

  • Notes on accommodation: There is a wood burning stove for winter use. The hi fi will accept an ipod connection through a USB port and the DVD player also has a USB port for memory sticks. WiFi access up to Euros 15 is available free of charge. If more access is required, this can be purchased via the neighbours in Villas del Alba. Outside: The villa is in large natural grounds incorporating large, flat areas for recreation. There is a large balcony overlooking the valley running the entire length of the house (see view). The swimming pool is 10m x 5m and has a deep end of 2.1m and shallow end of 1.5m entered by internal steps. Sun loungers and parasols are supplied. Please note: this pool is not safe for unaccompanied children or non-swimmers. The gardens are extensive with olive trees, a carob tree, wild lavender and beautiful tall grasses. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is provided and property is cleaned between lets. Towels provided. The cost for cleaning at the end of your stay is E85 deducted from the E200 security/deposit you are required to leave with Corrinne at the Villas del Alba adjacent to the property.
