Llanvithyn Cottage is the perfect place to stay in the Welsh countryside near Cardiff.

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks at the cottage, first with our son and his family, and then with friends. It is a perfect place for all generations to enjoy. Our hosts, Jon, Sian and their family all made us feel very welcome and supplied plenty of local interest literature to keep us busy for weeks.

We visited beautiful beaches, historic sites, lovely old castles and gardens, and wonderful pubs and restaurants, all within an hours drive. We could have stayed at least another week to enjoy everything.

The cottage has all modern conveniences, yet keeps its feeling of a traditional country house. The view is expansive, so it would be easy to just sit and enjoy the ambiance, with or without a good book.

We would certainly wish to stay at Llanvithyn Cottage again if the opportunity arose.

A little slice of paradise

  • 5 of 5

What can we say that hasn't already been said?

This is such a beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting and we had a really lovely time. Our kids really enjoyed exploring the area around the cottage and were hardly interested in their technology!

The local area has so much too offer from the amazing coastal walks, the pubs and the great shopping that Cowbridge has to offer where you can buy some amazing local produce.

We will definitely be booking again and can't wait to come back.

Beautiful - a place to just simply be

  • 5 of 5

We have had a very special time at Llanvithyn. The cottage is gorgeous, well equipped and the views and countryside stunning. The whole family welcomed us and we truly felt we were staying with friends. Would love to keep this place a secret but that just simply isn't fair.... we will be back! A wonderful place to relax

  • 5 of 5

Booking this cottage was very quick and easy with great communications from the owners.

The cottage is well kept, private, spacious, warm, well furnished and stocked and set in beautiful surroundings. We really appreciated the welcome gifts of bread, milk, prosecco etc. it was a perfectly relaxing stay.

It is in a brilliant place, a 20 minute drive from Barry, Penarth, 10 minutes to St Fagans, 25 minutes to Margam Park and more. There are shops 10 minutes away to buy supplies, a brilliant local pub with restaurant.

What a brilliant find, we would definitely re book this cottage.

Happy new year.

  • 5 of 5

The photos of this wonderful cottage do not do it justice. My wife is always very reluctant (from past experiences) to let me book anything. Hard to please even her jaw dropped. Amazing size, comfortable and was a very relaxing place to stay for a week. Near to Cardiff, so much to do. Loved it so much booked again for next new year. My eight and five year old boys loved the room upstairs. Cant even write a review that does enough to state how great it was. The owners were so nice and helpful. Could not fault at all. Book and you will love it !!!!!
