The house architecture respects the traditional construction techniques that distinguish the main features of the urban structure, for instance: the four water roofs (it is a unique building method in the region, used only in this city, which contributes to a unique style in city architecture). The reixa doors (a technique that dates back to the 12th century, when the moors lived in the Algarve). The decoration style respects the local artisans' works and materials. 5 minutes walk from the ferry stop to the unspoilt beach of Tavira Island (10 minutes trip) located in the heart of the most incredible natural reserve – Ria Formosa. Holiday Home in Tavira

The accommodation was a typical Portuguese town house over three stories, in a nice clean area and very close to the town centre ,with its shops and cafes.

The lovely host met us and showed us around the house which was very clean and well presented. The cooking and laundry equipment was of good quality with nice crockery and glasses. It was really homely. The roof terrace accessed via a spiral staircase had super views over the town and was a real plus to the property, lovely for a glass of wine.

The house was a credit to the owner.

Tavira is a lovely town and well worth a visit .

Ideal for sun and beach holiday. Golf, long walks on the beach, island trips, cultural experiences, birdwatching, naturist holidays, rural countryside exploring.


5 minutes walking from the ferry stop to the unspoilt beach of Tavira Island (10 minutes trip) located in the heart of the most incredible natural reserve – Ria Formosa.


20 minutes drive from Faro Airport (20 Km), 20 minutes from Vila Real de Santo Antonio and Ayamonte (Spain), 1.5 hour from Seville (free motorway).


10 minutes walk to Sea Salt Flower production areas. It is a rare salt that is sold out to the world’s finest restaurants. 30 minutes drive from the mountain area (beautiful landscape).

'Via Algarviana' is a foot path, mostly in the countryside area of the Algarve. The itinerary goes across the most important natural and cultural places. 15 minutes drive from the 'Cork Route' (the region is famous for producing the world's finest corks).
