The large lounge/dining area is furnished in quality solid oak furniture. Its includes 2 x 3 seater leather sofa's, one of which is a pull out bed. Solid oak TV unit, including flat screen TV, Sky tv and DVD/CD player and FREE wifi. The dining area has a solid oak 8 seater dining table and chairs. Master bedroom with double bed, large fitted wardrobes and en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and shower, furnished in solid oak. Two x twin bedrooms, furnished in solid oak and with large fitted wardrobes. Main bathroom with power shower, finished to a very high standard. Lovely apartment

The apartment was very nice, well equipped and clean. A good size for us, we were 4 adults (2 couples), a baby and a toddler. We had a lovely food package awaiting for us (which we had preordered).

The beach is a 5 minute walk and is beautiful, very big and good for children. The pool area is very nice with very well maintained gardens, but look out for cat poo!! The gardeners seemed to pick it up if they saw any but there is a lot of stray cats around.

The pool was freezing so would suggest brining wet suits for baby's. But once you get swimming was lovely.

All in all a very pleasant stay and will hopefully stay again next year.

I would however say that if staying with young children a car is absolutely necessary to get anywhere other than the beach. We hired one second day in. The shop and town is at least 25 minute one way walk in the heat is very tiring.

I fell in love with Porto De Mos because of its location and the surrounding area. The beaches are beautiful and clean. The locals are very helpful and friendly. Lagos town is close by with its beautiful surrounding castle walls and lovely black and white block paving. The list is endless on things to do and see.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended


Porto de Mos beach is within a few minutes easy walking, it boasts a beautiful beach with lovely restaurants which cater for international and local cuisine. You can hire sunbeds and umbrellas. There is water sports available and lots of beach activities.


Faro Airport is approx 50 minutes away (80km), it has various car rental companies to offer. Lagos railway station is 2km away. The nearest motorway junction is 1km away. I would advise on car hire to appreciate what the Algarve has to offer.

Supermarket 1km.

Restaurant 600m.

Private Hospital 2km.

Praia da Luz 5km.

Porto de Mos is only 5 minutes away from the beautiful town of Lagos. Lagos has a much historical feel to it and boasts in history. The waterfront has an amazing fort and the old town is surrounded by the old town wall. The marina has much to offer with lots of boat cruises, from seeing the dolphins or taking a trip to the grotto's. For families it also has a water park close by and the Zoo. The town has plenty of things to do, from fine dining to a relaxing coffee of the marina front to watch time go by.

The benefits of the apartments location is you are only minutes away from the local beach which has beautiful golden sand with plenty of things to do. There is two lovely restaurants on the beach. You can relax with a game of Golf which is only 5 minutes away by car. Lagos town is only 5 minutes away by car or a steady 15 minute walk away which has a beautiful Marina with many excursions, fine dining, shopping. Also new to 2010 is the new motor racing track which is only 10 minutes drive away. The apartments are very family friendly and are home from home.
