Villa Marachique is a very new complex on the outskirts of Alvor. It's centre piece, and the main hub of activity, is the huge swimming pool stretched across the luxurious gardens. The pool is divided in two halves - the first part being a toddler pool and the second part being the amazingly extra large pool for confident swimmers. The pool is solely for private use by Villa Marachique - pool passes are supplied by the apartment owners. The apartments are graded as luxury apartments and are furnished to a high standard, they have all the amenities you require to make your holiday special.

Coast/Beach:

15 mins walk.

Mile upon mile of some of the worlds' finest golden sandy beaches stretch along the coast of the Algarve. In our opinion Alvor has the best of these on its doorstep.

Whether you wish to stroll along the coast uninterrupted with the sand between your toes or lie back in the enchanting surroundings of a secluded cove with cliffs soaring above, you will have plenty of space to enjoy some of the cleanest coastline in Europe.

All major water sports are available on Alvor beach.

Travel:

Faro is very well served by flights from many UK airports on most days of the week. Flight prices can very greatly depending on season or day of the week. From our experience it is more economical to book your flights well in advance.

Please note we can offer different check in and out days other than Saturday.

Distances:

Alvor: 15 minutes walk/ 2 minutes by car.

The picturesque fishing village of Alvor has a rich history dating back to pre-Roman times. It's fate changed hands many times over the centuries until finally being secured by Christians in the 13th century.

Today Alvor is renowned for it's superb beaches, either long and sandy or divided by enchanting coves. Alvor remains a working fishing community with a fish market and thriving streets.

Further Details:

Bars playing live music proliferate in it's narrow streets and excellent restaurants can be found right up to the water's edge. There is also a small square which occasionally hosts local events.

The resort boasts sports facilities which include golf, tennis and horse riding.

There is a large market on the second Tuesday of every month.

Nearby Praia de Rocha is a short taxi ride away for those wishing a more frenetic evening!
