About the property

Apartment in Cala Egos/Cala D'Or, Mallorca, Balearic Islands - Small Peaceful Complex with Private Garden

Ours is a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment in a small exclusive development situated on the second row facing a small cove known for good diving and snorkelling. We have our own private garden and private balcony with a sea view. The shared pool is set within an established garden and terrace and hedged and gated for privacy. Personally we do not think our apartment is suitable for children under 14. The apartment is close to beautiful beaches and the vibrant town of Cala D'Or and within easy walking distance to Cala Egos and the spectacular Cala Longa marina with the many bars and restaurants around it.

About Liz and Mike Davies

I live on the south coast of England with my husband. My husband and I enjoy getting away to Mallorca about four times a year - if we are lucky! We think Cala D'or is a place where you can relax as soon as you step off the plane. It takes us approximately 3 hours from door to door and we can then be sitting by the pool with a glass of wine in our hands.

We enjoy the beautiful island of Mallorca and our apartment gives us everything we want in a holiday - with or without the children. For us it is instant relaxation as soon as we arrive. The property is ideally situated close to local amenities and lovely beaches but also provides us with tranquil place for peace and quiet.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is one of only 9 apartments in a secluded plot facing the sea. We only have one row of houses in front of us and can see the sea from our balcony. The area is well established with no high rise hotels overlooking us. If you go through the garden gate there is an opening between the opposite houses to the rocky cove which is ideal for snorkeling. The apartment is less than 10 mins walk from the local beach, bars and restaurants. If you want to walk a little further its 20 min to the Cala Llonga / Cala D'Or marina surrounded by trendy bars and restaurants. There is a small land train [ "Noddy Train" ] that passes the apartment and will take you into the town centre of Cala D'or or in the opposite direction to the lovely Mondrago Beach, a Spanish Natural Trust area, which is approximately 10 minutes away by car.

Spot on!

Perfect, well equipped apartment. Good communication and information from owners. We were two couples, so good to have two shower rooms. Glad to have BBC on the TV to watch Wimbledon! Enjoyed view from balcony and had use of swimming pool to ourselves every afternoon as no one else around. Great location. Short walk into Cala Egos with most amenities and from where we hired bikes on one day. Especially liked the restaurants on the marina.

perfect location.

Stayed in the area last year but further away from the beach. The view from the terrace was lovely. Location was just write for walking to the beach, marina and restaurants. We even walked into Cala door this year a few times. The pool was very welcoming in the afternoons for a cool down. The villa was clean and had everything we needed, the 2 bathrooms came in handy. Have already recommended it to friends.

Perfect Getaway

I have been using the apartment with my wife for the last 3 years. Last year we made two visits and our grown up children have started using the property as well. The reason we all keep coming back is because from the moment you arrive you know your holiday has started witnessed by the superb condition and location of the property with views from the balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. We love being on the ground floor as this gives us the access to a garden in which to relax and the chance to fire up the barbecue. Access to the swimming pool from the apartment is also easy. The owners have done a great deal with the property over the years that we have been coming and are continuously upgrading the property to ensure a high standard of accommodation.

The location is perfect with only a short walk to Cala Egos which has an abundance of bars and restaurants. After a good night out (eating and drinking) we love nothing more than the short walk back to the apartment as the sounds of the holiday entertainment fades in the distance while we look forward to a night cap in our garden.

Who wants the hassle of a hotel when you can have the luxury and freedom of this apartment? Needless to say we will be there again in 2015.

My Husband and I had a fabulous holiday here, wonderful location within a short walk to shops and restaurants.

Lovely and peaceful with a lovely look out to the sea, the pool was clean and large and we found we had it to ourselves most of the time.

The accomodation had everything we needed and was extremely clean with plenty of room and the garden area an added bonus to chill out with a glass of wine (or 2)!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to friends and relatives and have every intention of returning again.

Superb retreat!!

We have been revisiting this apartment over the past 8 years with our daughter and her friends. We recommended it to friends with teenagers who visited in July this year and came back with rave reviews. It is ideally located, just a stroll away from the main town and a few steps from the rocks and ocean with peace and tranquility - a devine escape from the many tourists at this time of year. We have enjoyed it with both young children and teenagers and have also met females there who have been holidaying on their own. I am in the leisure industry and am fortunate to be able to stay in 5 star hotels when I travel on business. This apartment is absolutely perfect for a holiday offering all the facilities a couple or family could require. Due to school holidays, we have always travelled in the height of season and have never found it too hot with the fans being adequate. Looking forward to our next holiday there!

The date of our stay is incorrect. We actually stayed here some time ago. I normally do not comment on places I have stayed at but noticed the other review and felt obliged to put our experience in writing. We do not know the owners but I am quite comfortable in stating that, at the time our stay, the apartment was very clean and well maintained. It was perfect for what my wife and I, together with our friends, required and I can state that our standards are quite high. When there was a problem it was sorted out very quickly with a phone call to the owners who arranged for local assistance to arrive within the hour. We would have no hesitation in booking this apartment again if we were to return to the area.
