Townhouse in Las Farolas, El Chapperal, Nr. La Cala, Mijas Costa, Costa del Sol - Peaceful Location, but only 5 mins walk to Beach. Fantastic walks on Beach and Surrounding Hills

LUXURY SPACIOUS TOWNHOUSE - 3 bed/3 bath with communal pool set in picturesque location with mountain and sea views. The first of only ten pale yellow townhouses up a small hill on a small private development with 3 parking spaces immediately outside. A short walk to beach and small local bar just down the hill. La Cala and Fuengirola only 5 minutes drive away and Marbella 25 minutes drive away. Our property is located on 3 floors, and each floor has a large terrace with views of the sea and Mijas Mountain. Each of the bedrooms are very private with own ensuite and terrace. Recently we have added a wifi connection and Sky Tv. Luxuriously furnished with beautifully finished kitchen with all modern appliances, including dishwasher,fridge/freezer, microwave etc. The lounge/diner is also beautifully furnished and leads out to a sunny terrace (sunny all day then moves to the front terrace for early evening tea!) running the whole width of the house. The private master bedroom on the first floor has a 6' bed, ensuite and terrace with fantastic panoramic views of the sea and Mijas mountains. One of the bedrooms downstairs is converted to a luxury family room with two 5' beds, ensuite bathroom and terrace. Bedroom 3 has a luxurious and cosy feel to it with a 5' bed, ensuite shower room and terrace. The communial gardens are well kept with a large swimming pool at the end. You can spend the day by the pool as a change from the beach, ample sun beds are provided (and we supply beach towels as part of our package ) .

Our housekeeper is on hand to hand over your keys and show you the 'ropes' when you arrive.

eL Chaparral Golf course just two minutes away. Club house has beautiful views over mountains and surrounding areas and practice greens. The club house serves food all day.

Site seeing: Marbella, Estapona and Malaga Mimas Village. Further afield Sevilla (easiest by train from Malaga station) , Rhonda and Granada (2 hours away for fabulous skiing in season )

My husband and I are British and have a home in a village in Hertfordshire which we love. We have a 24 year old daughter who loves to visit Marbella and Puerto Banus for the night life! Our daughter has had many friends to stay in our Townhouse and they stay in the two bedrooms downstairs with its own terraces and en-suite bathrooms and when we are staying we don't go there until we are leaving! We spend as much time in our house in Spain as possible. It is home from home to us, with all the luxuries of home but with less clutter (my husband says!) Set in tranquil setting but a few minutes from the beach, restaurants and bars. el Chapperal golf course is within 2 minutes driveof us.

Why Carol Freeman chose Mijas

We just love our house - mainly because of its tranquil setting and it is really home from Home!

Just 5 minutes away is La Cala and Fuengirola, and further 30 minutes or so is Malaga and in the opposite direction Marbella and Puerto Banus. For the more adventurous there is skiing in Granada!

We love La Cala, the new walkway along the coast at the moment stretched 3 miles towards Calahonda but it is anticipated that you will be able to walk from Malaga to Marbella one day.

We love just walking to the local restaurants (10 minutes walk away) and taking a leisurely stroll back.

The house itself is spacious and beautifully laid out with panoramic views of the mountains and sea from all three large terraces. All three large double bedrooms has en suite bathrooms and built in wardrobes . Bedroom 2 (downstairs family room) has 2 double beds and an ensuite full sized bathroom (family room). Golf course (El Chaperral) is literally walking distance ( 2 minute drive) and we have 6 sets of fine golf clubs in the villa.

There is a train (shuttle) from Fuengirola to Malaga . Malaga is just breathtaking - well worth a cultural and shopping expedition !

For the energetic there are various hillside, wooded walks opposite the house, especially good for winter walking.

What makes this villa unique

Golf, many in the area but El Chaparral 2 minutes by car,just across a small service road. . The beach is five minutes walk and bar (serving food) just at the bottom of the hill. Many restaurants about 10 mins walk away, Indian, Chinese, Spanish, Sports Bar etc. Built in a pine forest, the air is very clean and fresh. There are wonderful walks, both along the beach (only five minutes walk away). We also took the most quaint train from Fuengirola to Malaga and didn't quite realise what a beautiful city it is.

There is a fantastic beach walkway from La Cala to Mirafloras, busy even in the winter months . They will be linking up from Malaga to Marbella eventually but at the moment it is about a 2 mile stretch - it is amazing (I've put some photos on my page).

Parking for 2/3 cars is immediately outside the townhouse.

Notes on accommodation: Air-conditioning in each room. All 3 spacious bedrooms have own private terrace with panoramic views to mountains and sea and all have ensuite bathrooms. Luxury furnishings - home from home! Wi Fi provides internet access Outside: Well maintained communal gardens, beautifully kept outdoor furniture on terraces, including outside table and chairs on lounge terrace. Electric blinds on main terrace which keeps the terrace cool in the summer months. Shared pool with free use of sun beds.(rarely used). Views of Mijas mountains and sea from all terraces. The master bedroom terrace has the most spectacular views of all. Utility Room: Large utility room with washing machine and drying area. Ironing board and iron (six sets of golf clubs!). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: 3 x sets of linen available. Beach towels available .Cleaned once a week if requested on a two week stay (at extra cost). Other: Terraces to each of three floors all south facing. Electric blinds to lounge terraces, outside dining table and chairs. Garden furniture on each terrace. Front terrace gets the sun about 5 o'c when it leaves the back terraces - nice for afternoon tea!

From our first contact with Carol we knew we had chosen well. The customer service was great. Carol responded straight away to any inquiries we had.

The property is exactly if not better than described and the wonderful Julie is there on hand for any help you may need on arrival.

The area is very quiet and peaceful with amazing views right out to sea, all of the terraces enjoy sun from early morning until the evening when it switches to the front of the house, perfect.

There is a lovely pool area if you fancy a dip. Or as we did a short drive to the Blue Flag beaches of La Cala, it really doesn't get much better.

I would whole heartedly recommend Carols lovely townhouse to anyone.

Fantastic holiday home!

From the first contact with Carol, the owner, communication was first class. Carol was happy to answer any questions we had about the house/pool.

We were a family of 6 adults and 2 children staying in this holiday home and there was plenty of room for everyone. The bedrooms were very spacious and all en suite which was great. There was a lovely outside area for eating and socialising. We all loved spending time round the pool which had to ourselves most days. The gardens were very well kept and really pretty around the pool area.

The house itself was very spacious, really clean very well maintained and had everything you would want in a holiday home. I would recommend that a car is needed.

Julie was a little diamond!! She was at the house to meet us when we arrived to hand over the keys. She made us very welcome and was available should we need anything during our stay.

I would definitely recommend this house for a family holiday and will most certainly be booking again.

Amazing-tranquil and relaxing

Our stay at this villa was blissful. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 kids but not once were we on top of each other. The 3 ensuite bathrooms were a godsend. The villa itself is clean large and well equipped with all the things you would need. It is very homely and does not feel like a holiday villa at all. The area is peaceful and very relaxing listening to the birds from the forest. The villa is far enough away from the main road but close enough for the beach etc. We found a shortcut through the back to la Cala which was great as we didn't have to negotiate the motorway everyday. I would recommend this villa to anyone.

A little gem on the Med

We have stayed in Casa Sophia twice. This house is a total gem – beautifully decorated with access to a large and luxurious garden with an excellent swimming pool, this villa offers five star accommodation at a reasonable price. On both visits we travelled without a car and, as we were a couple travelling without children, this was a pain free process. The property is in a private urbanisation between Fuengirola and La Calla. We took the train from Malaga airport at a cost of just over 1 euro - this left us in Fuengirola station next to the taxi rank. A taxi direct to the villa cost us 12 euros. There is a supermarket and a strip of restaurants and bars a ten minute stroll from the villa and the bus at the bottom of the road takes you to all the surrounding towns at very little cost – we visited Mijas and Marbella as well as Fuengirola and La Calla.In the evenings we had drinks on the beautiful terrace overlooking the Med. The property is split over three floors. The main living area is on the ground floor with luxurious bedrooms /ensuites on the floors above and below. This would be especially suitable for a group of friends or 2 couples travelling as the bedrooms on different floors offer privacy. We are looking forward to returning this year with our two friends for another fantastic holiday.

Nice location but with a few drawbacks

Positive: Nice location in a quiet environment, good and sufficient kitchen equipment, sufficient and clean bed linen and towels, well-functioning WLAN internet connection

Negative: Some rooms are not well cleaned, bed room downstairs in need of renovation because of signs of mold on the ceiling, it was not possible to receive any TV programs in the living room, TV in the bed room could only receive spanish TV programs, CD player didn't work, some problems with the air-conditioning

Special interest holidays:

Golf course within 5 minutes drive with plenty of others within 10 minute drive. Horse riding 10 minutes drive away. Fantastic walks in hills and along beaches. We love to visit Malaga, a very ancient and beautiful city with outside cafes where you can watch the world go by. Take the very quaint train ifrom Fuengirola - Another place worthy of a visit which we found surprisingly beautiful is Estepona. Very Spanish and the old part is worth seeing. Marbella (Orange Square) is well worth a visit as is Puerto Banus for people watching and the shops are amazing!


Beach is 5 minutes walk - 5 minutes drive to La Cala beach and 10 minutes to Fuengirola where it is much busier. On the beach near us is a very nice beach bar and restaurant. The walks are amazing, especially in the cooler months. The hills behind have a walkers/runners' track - for the energetic!

Walk along the new beach walkway stretching from La Cala to Riveria but eventually this fantastic walkway will stretch from Malaga to Marbella and beyond. It is busy even in the winter months.


20 minutes from Malaga airport (taxi far about 50 Euros). Car advisable but bars and restaurants are within walking distance and there is a bus service along the main A7. Taxi's are fairly cheap and the bar down the hill will call a taxi for you.


La Cala 5 minutes drive. Fuengirola 5 minutes in other direction. Marbella 30 minutes drive. Water park 10 minutes drive (Fuengirola). Golf - there are many but the nearest is 2 minutes drive (El Chaperral), La Cala (with Spa for non golfers) and many along the coast.

Further Details:

Local bar/supermarket 3 minutes walk. Club La Costa 3 minutes walk with heated pool and restaurant and bar facilities. Banks and major supermarkets 10 minutes drive in La Cala and Fuengirola. Nightclubs in La Cala, Fuengirola and Benalmadena and of course the famous Marbella with its excellent shopping, restaurants and nightclubs
