"Just this short note to thank you for our wonderful week at Les Fontaines Cottage. The kitchen was wonderfully well equipped, the living room very comfortable and the bedroom with windows onto the courtyard was a very romantic place. Your location is great; a short drive in any direction took us to some great hilltop towns and wonderful dining. Please feel free to post this. Others should know what a treasure your place is. We loved every minute with you."

A very welcoming property that has obviously been carefully thought through and maintained - comfort & style enjoyed throughout! All 6 of us (family of 4 plus grandparents) had a great stay, taking full advantage of the pool. we ranged in age from 8 to 70 yrs and we all thoroughly enjoyed our week. Lovely surrounding areas to visit too (really enjoyed Najac & St Antonin Noble Val) and ate at some great restaurants too! Would definitely recommend and thanks to the owners who were warm, welcoming and very helpful!
Whilst the exceptionally good weather wasn't planned (we were lucky), everything about the cottage was. Loads to see/do nearby, should you feel inclined to...think the highlight for us was either Najac (lovely town, a bit touristy) or St Cirq Lapopie, both of which had markets running into the evening, with lovely food available, and for the latter, a pottery market including one of the local artists demonstrating using a potter's wheel...my kids were mesmerised. I think we barbecued and ate dinner outside almost every day, and ate a lot of food bought fresh off local markets. Welcome pack included enough for breakfast. The pool was kept immaculately clean, and the owners were both welcoming and friendly. Thank you!
The cottage at Les Fontaines is beautifully finished and makes for a lovely cosy home away from home. We had everything we could need (except wonderful weather!) The cottage was clean and light with a wonderful big kitchen.
We stayed for 2 weeks and spent our time exploring the stunning French countryside, villages, towns and rivers. Les Fontaines is ideally situated if you want to get away from it all. There are so many beautiful places to visit in this area of France, we were never bored! And when the good weather did arrive we enjoyed several days relaxing by the pool. Shops and restaurants are all within 10 minutes drive, and there is a lovely bakery within walking distance.
Steve, Andrea (and Spencer) were wonderfully welcoming and on hand to help with any issues we had (of which there weren't any!) If we are ever in this part of France in the future we will be sure to return to Les Fontaines.
The property was even better than we imagined from the wonderful pictures and descriptions given online. It was immaculately clean and beautifully furnished with all the facilities you could possible want for a fabulous holiday. Both Andrea and Steve were perfect hosts and provided us with fantastic customer service during our stay. They even provided us with details of events and where we should go to see them e.g. Le Tour de France which passed through one of the villages. The restaurants and must see sights were also provided by our hosts and every one of them left us with truly memorable experiences. The pool was immaculately clean and a real hit with the whole family. I have already shared pictures and our experiences with family and friends and recommended this property very highly to them.
We stayed at the delightfully charming Les Fontaines cottage for ten days at the beginning of May. It is surprisingly spacious and beautifully furnished. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen extremely well equipped. Lots of decorative touches in every room. It was great to stay in such a luxurious cottage in a picturesque country setting.
Andrea and Steve were great hosts. They recommended lots of places to go and things to see which all turned out to be wonderful. Our favourites being Saint- Cirq Lapopie and Najac. Les Fontaines is in an ideal place that is quiet and peaceful yet close to many interesting places to go for a day trip. I would love go back there as there was so much we didn't get to do.
Many thanks to you both Andrea and Steve for your kind hospitality and we hope to see you again soon.
Best regards from Mike and Margaret.
Les Fontaines has pulled at our heartstrings once again, so this was our third visit to this immaculate gite. The property is wonderfully tucked away in this small village. We enjoy sitting out in the courtyard of an evening, listening to the tinkling of the fountain and the birdsong, far away from the noise of roads. A glass or few of cold white wine helps too!
The owners are very helpful, yet discreet, and provide a great welcome pack on your arrival. The kitchen is well stocked with all manner of cooking and cleaning equipment. The property has wifi and UK television, and a woodburner for cooler evenings. The beds are very comfy and cosy too. We would certainly recommend Les Fontaines to anyone wanting to explore this most interesting area of the Aveyron. The vibrant city of Villefranche-de-Rouerge is beautiful, with many restaurants (our favourite is a pizza one called Le France, which does other very yummy dishes!) We enjoy driving out to see historical sites, of which there are many. It would help to be unhampered by arthritis, but most people will be able to enjoy this area to the full. So much to see that it will take several trips! We look forward to our return. Thank you, Andrea and Steve, for your kind hospitality, and pats to our favourite spaniel, Spencer.
