Coast/Beach:

Guincho beach 10 minutes walking. This beach is 3 kilometers long and is known worldwide for its windsurfing, surfing and kite-surfing. Wonderful views of Sintra from this beach

Cascais beaches are 10 minutes by car and 15 minutes by bus.

Travel:

Lisbon Airport is 30km by motorway which ends 5 minutes from the property. There is a bus service from the airport to Lisbon train station (Cais de Sodre) and the train from Lisbon to Cascais takes 20 minutes. There is a regular bus service every 30 minutes from Cascais for guests who do not want to hire a car. Taxi's are very reasonable in Portugal. The train service between Cascais and Lisbon runs along the coast and passes all the major beaches.

Cascais 5 kilometers, Former fishing village which now houses a marina, parks, cultural center, historic buildings, churches and many restaurants, bars, coffee and tea houses, beaches, shops, gyms etc. Sintra 10 kilometers, World heritage site with palaces, castle, museums, parks, handicraft shops, and wonderful scenery. Lord Byron called it 'The Scotland of Portugal' because of its lush vegetation. Bus service from Estoril and Cascais.

Further Details:

The village has several family run restaurants which are very reasonable. It has a bread shop which also has a few essentials. The nearest supermarket by car is located 5 minutes away in Torre which also has banks, hairdresser, health shop, takeaway etc. There is a MacDonald's 4 minutes away by car and a pizza restaurant 6 minutes away (they deliver). Takeaway Indian restaurant in village There are 4 riding stables tennis and golf within walking distance. The area around the premises is great for walking and mountain biking. Boco de Inferno (Hells gate where the sea comes rushing in) which has stalls selling handicrafts is 10 minutes away by car. Cascais shopping is a large commercial center 7 minutes drive away and houses shops, large supermarket, restaurants, cafes, cinemas etc.

  • Notes on accommodation: The rooms are heated with electric night storage heaters for cooler times. Guests have use of the private pool which is fenced in and therefore child friendly. Towels for the pool. Guests have use of washing machine, located in a washroom. Pets not accepted as owners have dogs on the premises. Dogs have their own area and therefore do not inconvenience guests. Outside: Large garden and patio with barbecue and table and chairs for outdoor eating. Swimming pool measures 5m x 11m and is fully fenced in. This is shared with owners who live on property but most of the time, guests will have the swimming pool to themselves. Plenty of loungers and outdoor furniture provided. Bikes can be provided on request. Utility Room: Utility room with washing machine, dryer, ironing board and iron. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included. Property is cleaned fully before guests arrive and after they leave. If stay is more than one week apartment will be cleaned and linen and towels changed every week. Other: Small changing room with ironing board.Outside laundry room with washing machine and ironing facilities.
