Wonderful winter holiday break

The property is ideally situated overlooking other very good houses and villas to the old town and the castle with mountains beyond.

The sea is just viewable from the roof terrace and is a 10 minute walk downhill to an excellent promenade with bars and restaurants. The beach,as in most parts of these costas, is brown earth with grit and pebbles but is extremely picturesque with lots of palm trees.

The old town is another 10-15 walk along this attractive promenade and is made up of alleyways and shops with a fantastic covered market selling meat and fish. There's a very good supermarket just 5 minutes drive away from the property.

There is an Anglican church just 5 minutes walk away.

The weather was very good.....often 20 degrees....with some odd showers.

Rooftop idyll

This is an amazing, hidden gem! The rooftop is huge and we lived on it in temperatures in the mid-high 30s for the whole week! Swimming, table tennis, sunbathing and lazing with books in the shade, barbecues in the impressive built-in brick oven and card games by night. The beach and bars and restaurants were a short walk away, likewise supermarkets, although we did have a car, it is not necessary. The house itself is fantastic - it has everything you need, including a very well-stocked, spacious kitchen and the beds were really comfy! Great showers and water pressure was really good. The house has a wonderful atmosphere, everyone connected with it is so friendly and just wanted to make sure that we had a great time! This really added to the relaxation of the holiday. Really we would return tomorrow -- there are now good Easyjet flights direct to Granada from LGW, which I would recommend -- the drive through the Sierra Nevada was stunning - and the restaurant we loved most was L'Osteria, just across from the beach. Thank you, Sharron for sharing your wonderful house with us. We will be back!

Very good, just as advertised

A very enjoyable stay. The property has an excellent roof terrace fully equipped for swimming in the pool, relaxing on loungers, barbequeing and al fresco dining.

Internally, the aren't comfortably accommodates 6 people.

Would recommend it to future visitors.

Very nice property but some issues

Good accommodation and lovely terrace. Good location. Beds and pillows were not comfortable. Builders next door all week making a lot of noise, so we couldn't enjoy privacy or lying around - just bad luck.

Brilliant Property - Reccomended !!!!

Lovely, well presented villa for 6 people. All the furniture and fittings are well looked after and of good quality. Plenty of space for 6 to eat and relax with all the kitchen equipment you should need. The sundeck is huge! and well equipped incl. a BBQ. Lovely area to relax, sunbathe and chill.

Cannot thank Sharron enough for sharing her home and Mick & Julie for showing us around and explaining everything.

We know Almunecar well and found this villa just right for us and a short walk from the beach. There is a large supermarket about 10 mins walk with some bars and restaurants in the same area and along the beach. The town centre is a maze of narrow twisty streets and alleyways - well worth taking some time to explore and only about 15-20 mins walk from the villa.

Different to what we usually book

Interesting villa, first time in Spain so took us a little time to adjust. Villa was well stocked and would be ideal for a group. Roof top terrace was pleasant and the pool a perfect temperature. Easy to walk down to front and enjoy the restaurants on the night a bit of exercise after relaxing around the pool all day. Enjoyed are time there.
