Different to what we usually book

Interesting villa, first time in Spain so took us a little time to adjust. Villa was well stocked and would be ideal for a group. Roof top terrace was pleasant and the pool a perfect temperature. Easy to walk down to front and enjoy the restaurants on the night a bit of exercise after relaxing around the pool all day. Enjoyed are time there.

Superb second visit..

This is our second visit to this Villa and again we had a great stay. We were met by Mick and Julie, representatives of the Villa and they were very welcoming. Mick and Julie have a wealth of knowledge of the area and were able to advise us of what attractions are available. We were advised of where we could shop, the market days and times and also were it was best to eat.

There were six people in our party of which two were children aged 8 and 10. The complex offers security at the front gate with an electronic lock and all sides of the property have high walls so it was easy to feel safe for the children to move about within the apartment. Most time was spent in the pool and playing table tennis on the roof terrace. On this visit we found that the owner has had free Wi-Fi fitted which is a great help, from this we were able to run Netflix from our tablet to the TV, and that we were thankful for because one of the days was a rainy one. If you want to do this you’ll have to remember to bring your own HDMI lead.

This year we were able to pre book the tickets before leaving the UK for Alhambra Palace and we are so glad we did, the tour took three hours and was worth every penny, what a beautiful place.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mick and Julie for all of their help and advice, what a great couple ;-)

cant fault this villa our rep Julie could not do enough for us, lovely clean villa very comfy close to some fantastic tapas bars and all amenities, this was my second visit to this villa and wont be my last. the rooftop pool is amazing and bbq area cant recommend this villa highly enough.

Better Than Described

Our 5th holiday in the La Herradura/Almunecar area and far and away the best property we have stayed at. The property is perfectly located about 5 minutes from the beach, shops and restaurants yet in a very quiet traffic free setting. We stayed with our toddler (18 months) and in-laws for the second week and there was plenty of space for us to escape from each other on the huge roof terrace or terrace off the kitchen. The open plan kitchen/living area is very large and perfect for the cook who doesn't have to feel left out.

The quality of the fixtures and fittings is high, the double dishwasher is very helpful and both bathrooms are very nice. Loads of storage and very comfortable beds in the bedrooms but the big feature is the amazing private roof terrace with lovely views to the sea, great barbecue and pool.

The property had obviously been well cleaned before we arrived and the local rep (Julie) was really helpful and took time explaining how everything worked. We had asked the owner for the usual toddler things and a nice high chair and cot were waiting for us at no extra cost (we have paid 50 euros in the past).

The owner was very helpful throughout, promptly replying to emails and providing clear directions, recommendations, etc.

We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked to go again in 4 months time.

Great family stay

What a great stay we had at this Villa. Me, my wife and two children (7+9) from Newcastle, met up with my parents from Burnley to have a family reunion and we are all so glad we chose this place to do it in. We entertained ourselves on the roof top terrace that has table tennis and pool. There is also loungers, tables, chairs and a BBQ area. Not too far from the Villa is a great food supermarket for all those bits and pieces for the BBQ. The Villa is well laid out with a large living room and kitchen. Off the kitchen is another balcony where you can have breakfast in the warm fresh air.

The Villa is not too far from the main By-pass that runs the coast (E15) so I think it took me about 45 minutes to drive from the airport to the Villa. The roads are very quiet and easy to drive, a word of advice is that if you want to visit the Alhambra Palace in Granada is to book before you leave for your holiday, we tried to get tickets but it was fully booked for a month as limited tickets are available. There are some great attractions in Almunecar, Castle, bird sanctuary, aquarium, bonsai museum and a huge local market on a Friday. All the local tapas bars are worth a visit, our favourite was one to the bottom of the hill and right “restaurant le china”.

Ideal holiday

An excellent holiday was had by all members of our party, whose ages ranged from 31 to 67.The terrace was fantastic, and was in use some days from 8 in the morning until 12 or 1 at night. A perfect place to sunbathe, read in the shade, barbecue and eat.

The location is very good as it is convenient, but not too close, to shops, bars and restaurants - the short walk is excellent to increase the appetite!

As well as visiting the lovely local restaurants, where tapas comes whether you expect it or not, we both barbecued and cooked in the kitchen. The provision of crockery and glasses was superb and meant we could use lots of these to serve and eat, knowing there would be no washing up thanks to TWO dishwashers!! Brilliant!

The bedrooms and living area were also of a high standard and very comfortable, but hardly used apart from sleeping as the outside area was so good. The small terrace off the kitchen was also well used for breakfasts, lunches and an evening meal when it was a little windy.

All in all a lovely holiday in a lovely villa!
