Beautiful large villa consisting of 3 units for 2- 15 pers.Private pool + compound pool! - Groundlevel Only (With Private Pool) Or Entire Villa

This lovely and very big villa consists of 2 independent levels. You can rent the groundfloor apartment with private use of the pool for max. 7 persons or you can rent it with our new 1 bedroom apartment in addition for max. 9 persons .

The groundlevel 3 bedroom apartment is connected by inside door with the 1 bedroom apartment, so can be opened up or locked off from eachother.You can also rent the entire villa which is very suitable for 2/3 families or large groups. The villa is in a quiet and very nice residential area of Nerja, within walking distance of town centre, beaches and all important features. There are both a tennis court and horseriding facilities within a few minutes walk. From the villa you have views to a few white houses on a small hill, palmtrees and the sea. The villa has satellite TV, central heating, ceiling fans in all rooms, washing machines in both levels and is very nicely and deluxe furnished and decorated. Both the lower and upper level, each have 3 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms. In addition ( since april 2013) we have a new 1 bedroom apartment which can be rented together with the lower level or we can lock it off. The additional studio/1 bedroom apartment also has its own kitchen + bathroom + double bed

Each level is approx. 150 square meters of inside livingspace ad offers large livingroom, separate dining room, fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

In addition we now ( since april 2013) have a new 1 bedroom apartment, which can either be rented with the lower level, or we can lock it off.

There is an internal door connecting lower level with the new apartment.

In case of renting lower level + the new apartmnet, you have room for 9 persons downstairs. ( + 3 bedrooms upstairs= max. 15 persons)

Both levels have various private terraces with outside dining tables, umbrellas, barbecue etc.

The entire villa consists of 6/7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, additional guest toilet.

Plus 2 livingrooms, 2 diningrooms, 2 fully equipped kitchens.

The upstairs level has a very large veranda with views of palms and sea) This veranda (winter garden) is glassed, but in summertime windows can be taken out.

Wonderful holliday and perfect villa for a group

I stayed here recently as part of a family holiday, and found the villla to be absolutely perfect. We travelled in a group of 12, which included 3 different families and young children. The villa is beautiful, and the many rooms provided more than ample space for our family to enjoy. In addition to the communal area's (pool, balconies, dining areas) we all also had our own private space including bathrooms which is important when travelling in a large group. It truly was a home away from home ! It was particularly special for us as it was our first family holiday with our daughter and we really could not have asked for a better place to spend it. Lidl is conveniently located 5-10 mins walk away and its approx a 20 min walk downhill to the town centre. Joanna was always extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with and I would highly recommend both the villa and Nerja itself. Many thanks again and we hope to see you again soon

wonderful villa for extended family

We travelled as a large group of 8 adults and 7 children. The villa was ideal for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The children loved the pool and lovely weather. The villa was as described and facilities were excellent. Plenty of room and lots of bathrooms.

Joanna always returned our emails and was very clear about all details of payments etc.I could not fault the customer service and would like to thank her for the use of her villa.

A walk downhill in about 15-20 mins takes you to Nerja centre lots of lovely restaurants and shops. Beautiful Balcon de Europa a must see for views. We hired a car for shopping etc, but enjoyed the walk into town and got a taxi back (around 8 euro)

I would recommend this property and we are returning for another holiday next year .

Excellent Villa - Christmas and New Year 2015-2016

I booked the Villa for a 2 week winter holiday for a Family Party of 10. I was initially concerned about the distance to town but soon found it wasn't as far as I had imagined and this wasn't a problem. We rented the upper and lower units and had the place to ourselves. It was a great stay with some great memories, It was on average 20 degrees each day but in the shelter of the villa walls by the pool felt much hotter. The barbeque area was well used and we didn't struggle to dish out a feast for 10 either on the barbeque or in one of the Kitchens. The villa is well equipped and the wifi is a bonus, keeps all ages happy and all in cost of rental. Christmas dinner on the upper front balcony with all the trimmings as the evening sun sank over the horizon, beats being at home any year. The local taxis, bike hire and car rental places as well as the bus services also made it easy to get further afield. The cheapness and locality of Lidl is just great, and not much further to Supersol for anything that couldn't be got at Lidl. We would definitely book again if we return to Nerja.

Lovely villa

I contacted Joanne through owners direct,she was very helpful and the booking ran seamlessly,On arrival we were Met by Jill who was lovely and a wealth of local knowledge.The villa itself was spacious and had everything we needed and was presented very well.There is plenty of outside space all round the villa,this means wether u want shade or sun,there is always a well presented area to sit or lie.There are plenty of sun beds chairs and tables for everyone.We stayed there with another family so there was 8 of us and it was plenty big enough.Bat came twice to make sure the pool stayed crystal clear and is a great character with again a wealth of local knowledge and. Plenty of suggestions for cheap tapas bars and restaurants.

All in all a great holiday and great villa.look forward to booking again.

Great holiday & villa

Stayed here for 7 days around the end of July/beginning of August and overall had a brilliant stay. We booked the top floor of the Villa for two couples and there was plenty of space. Each couple also had their own bathroom (main bedroom was next door to the main bathroom, second bedroom had it's own ensuite). The third twin bedroom was unused. When we arrived the place was very clean and presentable and all rooms were furnished to a high standard. The pool and outside areas were very nice and the location was quiet and private. Unfortunately all but one of the umbrellas were broken so only one or two could stay shaded at a time, although with the private pool this was only a minor issue.

I would agree with the other reviewer that it was very difficult to sleep at night at times with just the fans. In saying that we didn't hire the air conditioners. After a couple of nights we realised that by opening the doors in the evening which lead out to the balcony area (while keeping main shutters locked), closing the bedroom doors, and leaving both the ceiling and plug-in fans on full, there was enough air circulation to keep both rooms cool. Outside of peak season I'm sure the heat is less of an issue and there is still the option of hiring the air conditioning units if necessary.

In terms of the location, it's worth noting that the location specified on the OwnersDirect website is not accurate. The Villa is actually further north on Pueblo Rocio. As mentioned by the other reviewer, there is a Lidl around 5-10 mins walk away which proved very handy. Otherwise though we found ourselves heading into the centre of Nerja by taxi. We did walk to Carabeo Beach one day which took 30 minutes but generally relied on taxis which cost around €8 each way.

Nerja itself is beautiful. There is plenty to do to suit all ages and even in peak season wasn't uncomfortably crowded. Some restaurants may require advance booking however at this time of year.

Overall we had a brilliant stay. Joanna also proved very helpful in answering questions before we booked. Would happily recommend this villa.

Lovely Family Holiday!

We booked the whole villa for our large family of 7 adults and 5 children and had a fantastic time! The description and photos are accurate, there was plenty of space for us all and we had everything that we needed. I'm not sure why the other review is negative as this doesnt reflect the villa in my opinion! There is a really nice restaurant with in a couple of minutes walk which is run by a local family, great food and a lovely setting, its a small restaurant so we called ahead to book as so many of us. It was very handy having Lidl so close by to get our groceries. Nerja town is very pretty and there are plenty of restaurants and shops, we walked a few times and it took about 25 mins. We all enjoyed our lazy lunches by the bbq and relaxing in the sunshine and the kids loved the pool! The owners we very helpful, thank you Joanna and Theo. Overall we had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to go back again!

This beautiful villa consists of 3 independent units, upper level and lower level each with 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms ( brandnew) + 1 additional 1 bedroom apartment at lower level. You can either rent the entire villa ( with or without the 1 bedroom apartment) 03 just 1 level. The upper and/or lower level are for max. 6/7 pers each, and 1 bedroom for 2 additional persons. Ideal villa for family reunions, groups of friends, weddinngs etc ( max. 15 pers)

The distance to Nerja is 1 kilometer.

You can either walk within approx. 15 to 20 minutes or drive within a couple of minutes.

Beaches are 20 to 25 minutes walk ( 1,5 to 2 kilometers)

A little longer on way back, slightly uphill.


Malaga airport is approx. 50 kilometers.

We can either help you with car rental, but also provide possibility of transfers from/to Malaga airport.

A car is not necessary but recommended if you wish to discover the beautiful countryside of Andalucia and maybe visit some of the beautiful cities like Granada, Cordoba or Seville.


Villa Arte y Vida is between the famous whitewashed village Frigiliana and Nerja.

Distances to Nerja are 950 meters, to Frigilana 4,5 kilometers

Granada is a good hours drive, Cordoba and Sevilla both 2 to 2,5 hours.

The spectacular lake district of Ardales/El Chorro is 1 Hour + 20 minutes and we can provide you with driving instructions and excellent tips for all locations.

We live onsite, so can assist you with everything.

Further Details:

A very nice restaurant, tennis court and horseriding facilities are within a couple of minutes walk from the villa.

Both in Nerja and Frigiliana are numerous wonderful restaurants, tapa bars, shops etc...

There is a very large supermarket 2 minutes drive from the villa and several others within 5 minutes drive.

  • Notes on accommodation: The the upper part of the villa villa has central heating for the cooler periods, the lower unit has very good gas/electric heating. villa therefore is also very suitable for winter months. Location is quiet (small lane with palm trees), but very convenient and close to centre and beaches. Lots of space both in- and outside for children to play and villa is totally fenced, so very safe as well. Outside: The villa has many terraces and if you rent the groundfloor only, you have around 250 square meters of both inside and outside space to enjoy. There is a very nice kidney shaped pool which is solar heated. The pool is for private use of the tenants and if you rent entire villa (large group or 2 families) you share the pool with your friends/family. There is plenty of outside furniture; groundlevel apartment only has 3 outside dining tables, 6 umbrellas, sunloungers, barbecue, etc. Patios and terraces (of which 1 is shaded) are tastefully decorated with lots of tropical flowers and plants. The poolsize is ca. 8 by 4 meters. Note: Families who rent downstairs apartment; there is no gate to get to the pool, so keep this in mind if you have small children who can't swim. From the upstairs unit you have to go down a couple of steps to reach the pool and in between are 2 gates which can be locked.
