Lovely villa with private pool sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms (one ground floor), located on a small side road, with ample parking. Quiet rural location some 15 mins walk to the beach and just 2 mins drive to this quiet seaside village of Porto Dinheiro and near to the pleasant, friendly town of Lourinha with its restaurants, shops, dinosaur museum and fresh food market. Easy access from Lisbon airport (approx 50 mins drive). Close to all facilities including medieval walled town of Obidos, traditional fishing port of Peniche, splash parks at Nazaré, beaches for surfing at Areia Branca, Baleal and Foz do Arelho, and picturesque Obidos lagoon for the sailing club. Well situated for access to golf courses at Golf Mar, Rio Maior (Golden Eagle), Bon Successo and Pria d'El Rey.

Why Malcolm and Daune Bronte-Stewart chose Lisbon District

Having travelled around Portugal for several summers on holiday we found ourselves always returning to the same area. We love the beaches and the surfing they offer, the amazing old towns and cities with their festivals and fetes, within a short drive. A special bonus was the closeness of my riding trainer with his superb Lusinato horses! The area is beautiful and tranquil. The air is renowned for its freshness. The lifestyle is gentle and rather old-fashioned and very precious for that. You can find the lively bars and restaurants but they do not overwhelm. Anyone who loves seafood will love some of the local restuarants. We often walk down to the seashore in the evening for a meal and to watch the fishing boats come out. The songs of the crickets serenade you back home.

What makes this unique

The villa is spacious and cool. There are several small shops within walking distance and the local buses are regular. You really need a car to make the most of your visit but you can get around using public transport quite easily. Driving into Lisbon takes less than an hour (45 mins is our record when nearly late for a display of the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art at Queluz) but you can also park outside and travel into the centre by metro.

The local roads are excellent and its fun exploring the local villages. Its easy to drive along the coast and we are within about 15km of the major north/south motorway (A8).

Lovely villa, very quiet. A car a must, no where to walk to for food or drinks. Good central location, not suitable if you like lots to do. Could have done with heating in the evening.
