Overview

About the property

Villa near Alozaina, Malaga Province, Andalucia, Spain - Peaceful Location, lovely village. Ideal For Walking, On Edge Of Biosphere National Park

Well equipped modern villa overlooking orange, almond and olive groves, and much more, sitting in 3 acres of of it's own land, 5km from the village on a quiet track off the main road. Perfectly situated for day trips to the historic cities of Ronda, Seville, Granada and Cordoba and for a good variety of beaches at the coastal resorts of Marbella, Puerto Banus, Malaga and Fuengirola and more. Morroco and Gibraltar are also achievable in a day trip. This is a rural, non-commercial, typically Spanish location with easy access to a beautiful historic village, and not for those preferring a more tourist-based holiday. A key feature of this property are the absolutely stunning views, even by Spanish standards! (Best views in Andalucia, according to a Spanish, lawyer friend of ours). These views also give you beautiful sunrises. Spacious lounge which features high ceiling with rustic beams and leading onto a glass curtained covered terrace with 180 degree views. A number of golf courses and beaches within 45 mins drive, as well as shopping malls and the newly built modern port at Malaga with many restaurants and shops. Malaga is well worth a visit with it's beautiful buildings and Spanish non-touristy feel.

Alozaina is one of the most beautiful villages in the area, with a lovely old Church set at it's highest point. It has the benefit of many bars(!), most of which have a very varied tapas menu, as well as menu del dia of course. There are many quiet tracks and back roads to explore on foot or on wheels. You will never forget a holiday spent here, and for all the right reasons !

Guestbook comments from the owner

¨ We stayed at this lovely house in the midst of this summer´s heatwave and found it just delicious. Our initial contact with the owners was reassuringly straightforward and honest. We are a fussy pair and we had a few specific questions based upon our desire for privacy, which Betsy and David answered truthfully and without fuss for us.

The overall feel is of a very relaxed family home in a safe (we slept with windows and doors often left open) rural location, so pretty perfect for us. The house is spacious and clean. The lovely owners were on the very near but very discreet and not at all interfering. The house does indeed have fantastic views from lots of different vantage point, and the pool was deliciously refreshing, very welcome in the heat.

If you want an off the beaten track, non touristy, comfortable house with everything you could want, but with a very definite feel of it being a home rather than a holiday rental, in a divine part of Southern Spain, with views to die for, then this is house for you.

Just the perfect place!

  • 5 of 5

That was just perfect! As it was previously said, David, Betsy and their house deserve more than 5 stars. Accessing the house for the first time will certainly be your only nervous time of the holidays (actually, just trust David and Betsy's instructions and switch off your GPS device :-)).

Once arrived enjoy the house, the pool (the big pool!), the quietness of the area and… the amazing view! Don’t hesitate to wake once early in the morning to admire the sunrise in the hole place surrounding the house. No word to tell it… only beauty.

The house is comfortable and perfectly equipped (everything you need is available), terrasses are perfect for eat and/or relax, under the sun or on a more shaded area. Their are many different places to seat in and enjoy.

To resume, all you will need for your holiday is available here :-)

Thank you David and Betsy for your kindness, your welcome and your availability. Be sure we will come back!

A lovely property in a beautiful location!

  • 5 of 5

We think that the earlier reviewers of this wonderful property have more than encapsulated all that makes it so special. However, we would like to add a few comments of our own regarding this property.

The property is indeed in the perfect place to stay and enjoy the peace and tranquillity offered by its location high above the village of Alozaina. The house itself, the gardens, the pool and surrounding terraced areas (covered and uncovered) are superb and spacious. There are numerous areas to relax in the shade, to sunbathe, to dine, and the pool is perfect for cooling off (and a great size too!).

The views from the property are exceptional and for us definitely memorable. It was so good just to sit outside in the evening looking at Alozaina down below and the clear starry skies above.

We must mention Betsy and David who were always on hand (if needed by text and email) to give helpful advice and hints about the property itself and the surrounding area. We also had a memorable and pleasurable dinner one evening with them at a local restaurant.

In conclusion, if you are looking for an exceptional property with exceptional views then look no further. In fact, we enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked again for the summer 2018.

Thank you to Betsy and David for making our stay so pleasurable.

Simply stunning!

  • 5 of 5

I could honestly just say read all the reviews below! They are all entirely accurate. If I could award 10 stars to David and Betsy, I would. Their home is beautiful. The views are breathtaking. The lovely and very friendly town of Alozaina lies below, the mountains rise behind, and beyond them is the sea. Immediately below the property are orange groves and you simply cannot beat the taste of orange juice from fruit you have just picked yourself! The crickets hum, the hoopoes flutter, (one landed next to me in the garden), the swallows swoop and the eagles soar. The villa itself is superbly equipped with everything you could possibly need. The beds are large and just so comfortable that you cant fail to sleep well. Everything is tasteful and creative, with some lovely artwork throughout. The pool is fantastic, the outdoor area huge, and there is an atmosphere that just oozes relaxation. The house itself is also nicely cool indoors. Betsy and David are absolutely lovely. They are there if you need them, but they don't impose themselves on you. They maintain their home beautifully, and you do feel immediately at home when you arrive. It was such a privilege to meet them and to stay for all too short a period. I sincerely hope we can come back again in the future, and I will certainly be recommending that friends and family should book!

Thank you Betsy, thank you David, keep in touch, and I look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Love from Stewart, Lucia and Chris x

  • 5 of 5

We had the most amazing holiday at this lovely Villa...our children had the best time...we spent most of our holiday lazing around the pool or in the pool..the views of the surrounding mountain/hills and picturesque village are out of this world..there is everything that you need with washing machine , dish washer , bbq, wifi , tv and a huge pool...the pictures don't do the house justice.

Betsy and David were so nice and we all had lovely meal at a nearby village one evening , and thoroughly enjoyed their company and their lovely Villa...i couldn't recommend it highly enough ..and we will be back next year for sure ..thank you again Betsy and David ...Patrick, Jeni and Ava and Aidan xx

Amazing pool, views and holiday

  • 5 of 5

A lovely villa set a little way from the picturesque village on Alozaina. We had a fantastic weeks holiday with our two young children. David and Betsy could not have been more helpful before the trip, recommending the easiest route to the villa and with some all important directions when the sat nav just doesn't cut it (trust the directions they are right even if you think they're wrong!) The villa has two double bedrooms with king size beds which worked out great for us and our children (they did share a bed, but it was large enough for them both). Their room also came with a shutter ensuring they did not wake up too early for a holiday! There is loads of seating inside and outside which meant different views for each meal we ate! This really feels like a well-loved home with just about every utensil and item you might need, including a dishwasher, washing machine and a TV with English channels (helped the children with some down time). But most importantly for us the pool, it is amazing, large, cool and deep enough for all. David and Betsy also have noodles, floats, toys etc to ensure a great time was had by all in the pool. In fact, our eldest daughter (5) learnt to swim on her own on this holiday. I guess that's what happens when you're in a pool at least twice a day! We did take a number of day trips, with the beach and main tourist attractions only an hour away by car. This is the quietest and most relaxing holiday we have had with our children, they loved it and are already pestering us to return so they can go back in the pool again. Thank you David and Betsy for your insight into the area, kind nature, helpfulness, privacy and even getting up at 6am to see us off on the last day.

Book this villa for a perfect holiday, if not for the pool, then for the views!

Location

Nearest Airport
50 Kilometres
Malaga
Car: necessary

Special interest holidays:

The owners would be happy to escort visitors on some of the many interesting walks in the area. Alternatively they could also provide day or half day trips out on off-road tracks. It should be pointed out that though that walking in the July and August months would be subject to very high temperatures, and is therefore not the ideal time for long walks.

Coast/Beach:

The beach at Marbella is 45 minutes drive and an hour to Fuengirola, with numerous beach side bars and restaurants. Also, between Marbella and Fuengirola there are many beaches, some themed. Malaga beach (55 mins) is also worth a visit with many children's play areas, overlooked by beachside bars. Malaga itself is a lovely old city unspoilt by tourism. There is lovely, child-friendly coast walk (about 6 km) between Marbella and Puerto Banus, which can be varied by taking one way on the 'cat'.

Travel:

The villa is 50 -55 minutes from Malaga airport. Car hire is essential.

Distances:

The nearest two villages of Alozaina and Yunquera are 5km away, both with restaurants, bars, supermarkets and banks. There is also a weekly market on Tuesday mornings in Alozaina. Alozaina also has a lovely 16th century church. Marbella, Ronda, Malaga, Fuengirola, The Wolf Park and Los Chorros lakes all within an hour. There are two water parks within an hour. The beautiful cities of Seville, Cordoba and Granada are all well worth one or two day visits, and easily achievable.

Further Details:

Horse riding, tennis, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking and safari trips all within half hour. Golf within 40mins. Extensive shopping facilities at Coin which is half an hour away. Modern shopping malls in Coin, Fuengirola and Marbella. Bars with food, restaurants, banks and mini-markets, butchers, fishmonger, and assorted other shops available in Alozaina and Yunquera.
