About Robert Ormond

Bobby and Shirley Ormond arrived in France May 07 for the weekend. Purpose? To buy a property to renovate and live in France for 8 mths. We found La Bossiere that's it. From idea to reality was only 2 weeks we decided to regret doing it rather than living with the regret of not doing it, as in this life you only have one go. Arrived Aug 07 and started our 8 month adventure. Kids 6 and 11 went to local schools and we started work on the house, moved in Jan 08 with the main rooms complete. We had a wonderful experience and our time in France will remain as one of the best times of our lives.

Robert Ormond purchased this farmhouse in 2007

Why Robert Ormond chose Yvignac-la-Tour

Secluded, tranquil and in the country with short commute to beaches and towns.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Bobby,

Just wanted to thank you for the hire of your cottage last week. We had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend both the area and your property which was extremely well appointed and situated. Rgds A. Prior

Just wanted to say thank you for your lovely farmhouse, which our family so

much enjoyed staying in last week. The house itself was terrific, and the pool and pirates

den made it really special for the children.

Great days out - the coast & beaches were really

easy to get to, Dinan is really attractive and eating freshly-shucked

Oysters with lemon on the seawall at Cancale was a real holiday experience!

Your call to check all was OK was really appreciated too - real customer

service. We will certainly recommend to friends and family, and are even considering

coming back again next year.

Again - very many thanks!

Tim, Claire, Joe and Alice.

Your place is just (in one word) FAB!

Best wishes

Les, Madge and Baby Tyrone

Fab property and location

  • 4 of 5

Just had a fab week. Loved the property and the pool was a dream when the sun got too hot on the sun loungers. Robert was amazing and was helpful from start to end, with lots of help and advice. Property spacious and welcoming and was a pleasure to stay in. Kids also loved it and didn't want to go home

Return visit

  • 5 of 5

This was our second holiday here as was the first time we had a wonderful time in the house. Bobby was brilliant at sorting things out. The Bretton people were wonderful, local beaches and places to visit excelled our first stay.

A very relaxing and homely house which our 3 teenage girls love.

Wonderful house and great location to explore!

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to explore Brittany with the kids and this was a great location to do so. The family settled in wonderfully and we stayed for two weeks going to the beach every other day.

The facilities were brill and the pool was a bonus when the kids had energy after the fun days out!

The owners were...are brill and helped sort the one wee issue we had very fast!

A delight highly recommend!

Thanks for a lovely week

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week in mid August. Although the weather wasn't great we still found lots to do in the area. The house was wonderful,it has a really cosy, homely feel and was so peaceful.Inside it was spotlessly clean and there was lots of room for the 5 of us It had everything you needed and the pool was a real hit with the kids even on the wet days!

Shirley and Bob were really friendly if I needed to contact them, and nothing was to much trouble. I would recommend this to everyone and would like to think at some point we would go back, because its in a great location.

Great Farmhouse with a pool

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in the farmhouse at Yvignac and really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is well stocked with everything you'd need to cook anything (including coq au vin and moules mariniere!). There are games, DVDs and book to keep anyone entertained in the evenings and there is even a wine/beer fridge to keep all those lovely beverages chilled. The pool is lovely especially after a long day out sightseeing. The cottage is well located near Dinan, and with St Malo, Rennes and St Brieuc all easy to get to. Yvignac has a lovely little bakery and a distinctive tower that can be seen for miles.

We had a lovely week at the house and would recommend it to anyone.

St Briac, Dinard and St Jacut-de-la-Mar are the nearest coastal towns about 35 mins away and they are all very pretty and well worth exploring. The coast itself is truly fabulous. We haven’t explored it all but there are miles of beautiful sandy beaches in each direction, so you are sure to find one which is your favourite, and if you enjoy walking the coastal path is stunning. St cast the beaches are fantastic 7 in all to choose from and not crowded best by far. (28/05/15).
