Villa in Pago del Humo, Chiclana de la Frontera - Self Catering, 3 Bedrooms, near to the Local Amenities

Villa with patio and barbecue area set in a lawned garden with trees and shrubs. The garden is fully enclosed and is private and very secure. There is a swimming pool (8x4m) for the sole use of guests and a shaded area is provided to escape the heat of the hot summer sun. Within a 5 minute walk you will find the nearest Venta (bar/restaurant), Casa Blas, where you will always get a welcome reception. This is the busiest Venta in the area although the Florentina, which is approximately 1 kilometre away is also worth a visit. There is a small shop next to Casa Blas which sells basic requirements and is open late in the evening. A Pharmacy is a further 2 minutes walk away. There is a bus stop outside Casa Blas, which takes you into Chiclana, where you can catch buses to other locations. The beach at La Barrosa (Novo Sancti Petri) is a 15 minute drive, the town of Chiclana a 7 minute drive, the city of Cadiz a 20 minutes drive and Gibraltar, for tax free shopping and Rock Tours, a 1 hour drive.

Coast/Beach:

The beach at La Barrosa is approx 15 minutes by car and provides miles of golden sand. Along the coast can be found several small villages as well as pine forests and these are well worth visiting. You can take a walk along the long sandy beaches which line the Atlantic coast of Andalucia.

Travel:

Fly to Jerez from Stanstead which is approx 30-40 minutes from Chiclana. Seville airport is approx 1 hour 30 minutes away, Gibraltar 1 hour 15 minutes and Malaga is approx 2 hours 30 minutes. Ryanair fly to Jerez and Seville from Stansted and to Malaga from Liverpool, East Midlands and Dublin. Easyjet fly to Malaga from Manchester, Gatwick, Stansted and now to Gibraltar from Gatwick.

Distances:

Situated in Pago del Humo it is approx a 7 minute drive to Chiclana, the nearest town. The historic city of Cadiz is a 20 minute drive away. Gibralter with it's tax free shopping and the rock apes is about an hours drive. Tarifa, for windsurfing is an hours drive, from here you can also get a day trip to Tangier in Morocco. Other places that may be of interest include the Donana National Park, Selwo Wildlife Park, and the city of Seville all within 1 hour 30 minutes drive away.

Further Details:

There are 6 Ventas within walking distance although the liveliest is just at the top of the road and you will always get a friendly welcome from the owner (Blas). The food served is Andalucian and is good and very reasonably priced.

Further afield, a taxi ride away, or you can take the bus to Chiclana and then a further bus, is the resort of Novo Sancti Petri where you will find a wide range of restaurants and bars, including Indian, Italian, Mexican and even a Swiss restaurant (details of locations will be in the information pack in the villa). In the town of Chiclana there are a range of Venta's (bar/restaurants), three Chinese restaurants and an Indian Restaurant.

This is a great area for experiencing real Spain and not a tourist resort. The area is awash with 'Pueblo Blancos' (white villages) and if you go to Vejer de la Frontera you will be assured of a fantastic view across the plains.

The city of Cadiz is a must for a visit where the old meets the new. Take a walk around the old quarter and visit the old market, walk around the walls of the old city or just sit outside a cafe and enjoy a glass of coffee and watch the world go by. At the bottom of the city is a lovely garden with some fantastic bourgainvillea displays.

For guests with children there is a water park, Aqualand, situated near to El Puerto de Santa Maria. The park is open from the middle of June to early September.

Booking Notes:
Deposit of £100 per booking per week. This is non refundable with the balance being due 6 weeks prior to arrival. A £100 security deposit against any breakages is required and will be refunded within 14 Days of departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

This is our second home and not just a holiday home, please treat it with respect at all times. We would also ask that you please not smoke in the villa. Basic groceries can be arranged at your request, for an additional fee.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day will normally be a Saturday but we are flexible. Please depart by 10.30am, unless other arrangements have been made. Arrival time will normally be after 4pm.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.

Notes:

  • Outside: The garden is fully enclosed and, therefore, is private and very secure. The garden is mostly set to patio and lawn with trees, fruit trees, apple and peach, which guests are welcome to pick when the fruit is ripe and shrubs. There is a washing line for use by guests. There is a fitted barbecue attached to the outide wall of the property and a patio table and chairs (6) are provided in the shaded area to enjoy the fruits of this. There is a private pool (8x4 metres) between 1 and 2 metres deep and sun loungers and mattresses are provided. Note: The pool is not fenced, therefore clients should consider the suitability of this property for very young or non-swimming children. Children should be supervised in the pool area at all times, particularly the very young. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included as well as beach towels. The towels and linen will be changed once per week.
