La Casa de Piedra is an interestingly designed, well-equipped villa with with superb, panoramic views. It has a roof terrace, a fabulous, large pool and landscaped gardens, with lots of different areas to sit and enjoy a cool beer, a shady patio at the back including a fountain and olive trees below within its extensive grounds. It is located in the small community of El Curato, but is very private and enjoys uninterrupted views across the hills. It is furnished and equipped in a style fitting in with the 'Moroccan' feel of the villa. Air conditioning in much of the house also provides heating, together with a log-burning stove and a gas, wood-burning effect stove for colder evenings. The kitchen has everything you need including an American style fridge/freezer. The comfortable main room has TV and HiFi. Outside a large barbecue, a gazebo for welcome shade on a hot day, sun loungers, several tables and chairs for sunny breakfasts and evening meals on the balcony by the lit-up pool.

The kitchen is very well equipped, with an American style fridge freezer and lots of cupboard space. Kitchen, dining area and long living room have a spacious, open plan, L-shaped form, tiled throughout. It is light and airy, cool in hot weather. There's lots of space around the pool, on the tiled roof terrace, and a long patio at the back of the house; it is all very private. Sun-loungers, smaller tables and chairs are available in a variety of places, taking advantage of sun and shade and different views. A larger table for 6, shaded by a permanent gazebo, overlooks the balcony view down to the sea. The grounds are extensive, with olive trees below and an interesting, sloping rocky garden above the pool area, with cacti, other succulents, bushes and interesting, winding paths. Cot and high chair for hire from our local reps, who can also provide baby-sitting, a 'taxi' service and additional cleaning at reasonable rates.

Just returned from a perfect break away at this villa.

We cannot recommend this place highly enough, facilities are 2ns to none and the views are spectacular

Third visit to Casa de Piedra.

Casa de Piedra is an extremely well kept property that is equipped with everything you will need for your holiday. What you will not appreciate from the photos is just what a beautiful tranquil location it is, set amongst the hills above Malaga. If you stay you must go to El Torcal the national park which is about 20 mins drive away. We would also recommend Lobo (wolf) Park which is a 45 min drive inland towards Antequera. Also a visit to Malaga is well worth while. Try Tapas at the Market and fresh BBQ fish at one of the beach bars. For more local food go to Rincons in Villanueva. Tapas is fantastic there (and so cheap). All in all another amazing visit to this villa. Looking forwards to our next trip already.

A paradise escape

If you wish to escape the busy and stressful life, this is the right place!!! It is a paradise with much privacy, amazing view, nice pool, all that you need villa. A car is much needed. The road from the airport till here was an adventure. We loved every moment that we spent here in this piece of paradise!!!!

Our paradise!

This was our second time at the villa. Simply it is the villa we have been able to find from Malaga area. We love the the the quiet and very private location and yet still it is not so far from anywhere. You will need a car but with very reasonable rental prices it is not a problem. There are some other villas around too but you cannot see anybody.

Villa is clean and has everything you need like wifi, air, etc?

Pool area is nice with stunning view. You never get tired of watching it. Also there is no traffic noise, so all you hear are birds. We highly recommend this villa. On top of everything you get best service from the owners and the couple that takes care of it. Five stars!

The real Andalusia

Simply wonderful. Setting and scenery breathtaking. Antequera and Almogia worth exploring for a real sense of Andalusian life. Malaga an easy 30 minutes spectacular drive away for an evening stroll around the harbour and a tapear.

All as described in the listing and better. Go... you won't be disappointed.

Lovely villa

Stayed here for a fortnight in July villa is in a beautiful location away from the hustle and bustle of the holiday areas of the coast,villa is kept to a high standard and Kelly & her husband who maintain the property are very helpful & knowledgeable of the area,we had a small issue with the toaster and a room fan which both gave a blue flash and stopped working both of which were replaced but the toaster broke again so think the plug socket had a issue but wasn't to much of a problem as the grill was fine for making toast,we did experience the electric cutting out for a few seconds most days so that maybe an issue for the electrical items.Other than that everything was faultless with a great fridge freezer to store drinks and food also welcome pack was good with wine beer bacon eggs etc.The pool area is fantastic with beautiful veiws over the valley.One other small point I would say is the separate bedroom downstairs could do with aircon and a small fridge to hold a couple of drinks as it gets very warm and there is only a room fan which in July only moves hot air around.The upstairs(main part of villa) has loads of space with plenty of aircon units which are very useful in the heat of summer.There are lovely restaurants about 15mins away in either direction and the region is stunning to explore.Would like to thank the owners for the rental of there beautiful property would defo return again if in the area if you book this villa you won't be disappointed

If you want a restful, ‘get away from it all’ place, where you can enjoy scenic roads, visit interesting places and get down to the beaches of Costa del Sol, this is it! The villa has superb, panoramic views over hills to the sea. Nearby Almogia is a whitewashed hill-side village, with steep, narrow streets, small corner shops, restaurants and typical Spanish bars. There is a much greater range of shops, restaurants and bars in the town of Villanueva. Malaga and Antequera are more up-market and offer entertainment including flamenco dancing, also history and places of interest (eg Picasso museum, Botanical gardens and Antequera's caves, bull ring and a fascinating castle and Alcazar). Magnificent traditional Ferias in the larger cities and local fiestas in smaller villages happen at different times of the year with dancing, parades of horses and general partying! Family days out include water parks, zoos, the El Chorro gorge with its three turquoise lakes, the El Torcal Nature Reserve with amazing limestone formations and walks, the Lobo (Wolf) Park and Fuente do Piedra lagoon, famous for its flamingos, all within 30-60 minutes drive. You can also venture further to places such as Granada (with the stunning Alhambra), Ronda (with its famous gorge and massive bull ring - the largest in Spain), Cordoba (with its beautiful Mezquita) and Seville (with its cathedral and Alcazar) Along the coast there is Torremelinos and Marbella to the west and Nerja to the east, all with beautiful beaches (and nightlife too.)
