The Beachcombers are situated in one of the best locations on the island, with amazing sea views. Halfway between the old village of Lindos, with its narrow streets and ancient acropolis, and the newer resort of Pefkos, with it’s long sandy beach. The south-east coast offers many lovely beaches, the nearest one down in the bay, less than 10 minutes walk away. St Paul's Bay, just along the coast, is a popular venue for weddings, and The Beachcombers offer ideal accommodation for Honeymooners and Guests. They offer traditional country style with tiled roofs and pine ceilings, combined with luxury furnishings and well equipped kitchens. The view is something extra special, with the dramatic cliffs to the right, and the sea spread like turquoise satin in front. If you adore the scent and colour of a well kept garden, if you like cooking with fresh herbs, if you can see yourself relaxing in the jacuzzi as the sun climbs across a clear blue sky, this is for you.
The Beachcombers are licensed by the Greek Tourism Organisation.
We are Lorna and Tsam, a husband and wife team. I am British, originally from Cheshire, Tsam (Tsambikos) is Greek, originally from Lindos. We have been together for more than 35 years - here's one holiday romance that did last!
We have two grown up children and one grandchild.
We are very fortunate to be able to spend summer on this lovely island, where we have our own business. We return to the UK in winter, to spend time with our family and friends there, and they come out to visit whenever they can. We share our home with a very handsome German Shepherd called Timber.
We enjoy exploring the island when we have time - even after so many years we are still discovering new places. We especially enjoy walking in the pine forests in the interior of the island, visiting village tavernas for traditionally cooked food, and tasting the locally made wines.
Lorna Papaphilippou purchased this villa in 1980
We bought the plot of land several years ago, but it was not until years later that we were able to develop it. We found ourselves in the position of either building, or seeing our planning permission expire, so we built....4 lovely villas! The trend at the time was for 'sugar cube' houses, but we wanted something a bit different, so we used wood and traditional terracotta roof tiles to give them character. The views from The Beachcombers are superb - looking out over Navarone Bay, with the cliffs to the right. The photos just don't do it justice. We never tire of the view of the sea - it varies in shades of blue according to time of day and weather conditions. At night, especially with the moon shining across it, it is beautiful.
Being just between the villages, The Beachcombers are away from the crowds, but easily accessible.
We are lucky to have a good bus service, with a bus stop just a short walk away. Plenty of taxis pass by as well, so you can be in Lindos or Pefkos within a few minutes, even without a car.
What is special about these villas is the pools - we know from listening to our guests how important the pools are, especially in hot weather. These are larger than average pools, fully tiled, and with modern cleaning systems. Children will play happily for hours in the water, and if they are happy, Mum and Dad usually are, too! We included hydro-massage spas with the pools, because we think Mums & Dads deserve a bit of pampering as well.
We try to be flexible about changeover day. We ask departing guests to vacate by 10 am. Arriving guests will be able to move in after 3 pm. Please let us know if your flight times are unusually early/late, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Firstly let me thank Tsam and Lorna for being wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and we had everything that we needed and more.
The villas are extremely well equipped, clean and air conditioned - fabulous given that it was 38 degrees outside. The pool and garden were beautiful, and definitely one of the best that we have had over the years.
A car is essential but the island is not huge and you can get to Rhodes Old Town within an hour - definitely worth a visit! We also visited Ancient Kamiros which was stunning and extremely interesting.
The Acropolis at Lindos is only about 5 minutes drive from the villa and well worth the climb. The views are sublime but we did go early to avoid the worst of the crowds.
There are some beautiful beaches just a short drive away including Plakia, Glystra and our favourite Agathi.
Our favourite restaurant was Tsambikos in Pefkos. The view from the terrace was beautiful, the food was exceptional and as an added bonus there is a spectactuar bakery underneath. We also like Hellas in Pefkos but you do need to book as it is incredibly popular.
All in all we had a wonderful holiday in Rhodes and would not hesitate to recommend the villas or the area. As I have said above a car is essential as you cannot even walk to a local shop, but if you are happy to hire a car then these villas are worth that tiny inconvenience!!
Thank you again.
