The Beachcombers - 4 Villas with Large Private Pools and Spas - Pebble (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4/6)

Updated: 09-Dec-2016
Villas near Lindos, Rhodes, Greek Islands - Fantastic Location with Sea and Mountain Views

The Beachcombers are situated in one of the best locations on the island, with amazing sea views. Halfway between the old village of Lindos, with its narrow streets and ancient acropolis, and the newer resort of Pefkos, with it’s long sandy beach. The south-east coast offers many lovely beaches, the nearest one down in the bay, less than 10 minutes walk away. St Paul's Bay, just along the coast, is a popular venue for weddings, and The Beachcombers offer ideal accommodation for Honeymooners and Guests. They offer traditional country style with tiled roofs and pine ceilings, combined with luxury furnishings and well equipped kitchens. The view is something extra special, with the dramatic cliffs to the right, and the sea spread like turquoise satin in front. If you adore the scent and colour of a well kept garden, if you like cooking with fresh herbs, if you can see yourself relaxing in the jacuzzi as the sun climbs across a clear blue sky, this is for you.

The Beachcombers are licensed by the Greek Tourism Organisation.

About the Owner

We are Lorna and Tsam, a husband and wife team. I am British, originally from Cheshire, Tsam (Tsambikos) is Greek, originally from Lindos. We have been together for more than 35 years - here's one holiday romance that did last!

We have two grown up children and one grandchild.

We are very fortunate to be able to spend summer on this lovely island, where we have our own business. We return to the UK in winter, to spend time with our family and friends there, and they come out to visit whenever they can. We share our home with a very handsome German Shepherd called Timber.

We enjoy exploring the island when we have time - even after so many years we are still discovering new places. We especially enjoy walking in the pine forests in the interior of the island, visiting village tavernas for traditionally cooked food, and tasting the locally made wines.

The accommodation at Pebbles was excellent, very clean with a super swimming pool, and there was a friendly welcome by the owners.

The location was quiet yet very near Lindos & Pefkos, and we couldn't fault the weather, it was very hot

We would recommend the bakers/supermarket at Pefkos and a trip up into the mountains to Profitas Ilias

Owner's Response: Thank you so much! We love Profitis Ilias, too - lovely walks through the pine forest, and gorgeous views.

Fabulous Villa

  • 5 of 5

The description and photos of the villa do not do it justice with a warm welcome from the owners Lorna & Sam. Well maintained and lovely and clean, "Pebbles" exceeded our expectations.

We spent a lot of our time in the pool which was lovely and the jacuzzi was an added bonus. Wonderful quiet location, with the mountains behind you and a beautiful view towards the sea from the garden.

Agathi beach (approx 15 minutes drive away) is a must if you like sandy beaches and water that is beautiful and clear.

Visit Valantinas in Lardos for fabulous food and a wonderful welcome and Mythos in Lindos for an equally good welcome and food with a fantastic view as the sun goes down.

Would highly recommend and we all hope to return in the future.

Many thanks

Beachcombers Lindos Rhodes

Fantastic holiday

  • 5 of 5

Beachcombers exceeded all expectations for us as a family. A gorgeous pool to ourselves, spa pool, outside shower and pretty gardens was perfect for a hot August holiday. Inside the property is finished to exceptional standards with plenty of clean linen and everything you need for a relaxed and comfortable stay. The views are just lovely across the sea and the mountains and the surrounding area is full of restaurants of a very high quality. You definitely need a car as its a bit of a walk to the road for the local buses but its worth doing anyway as there is so much to see and do across Rhodes. We are definitely going back.

Another Lovely Stay in Lindos

  • 5 of 5

We had another great stay in Lindos at Beachcombers. We chose to stay in Sandpiper this time as we wanted more privacy from our neighbours than was afforded in the other villas. Everything was as good as usual and Lorna and Tsam couldn't have been more helpful. We felt like we were home from the moment we arrived hot and tired on a Saturday night. Our 3 weeks there flew by and our girls (both teenagers) had to be dragged from the pool kicking and screaming. It's a big world out there with lots of places to visit during a summer break, but Lindos has such a pull for us! We hope to go back in the very near future!

From the Owner

We bought the plot of land several years ago, but it was not until years later that we were able to develop it. We found ourselves in the position of either building, or seeing our planning permission expire, so we built....4 lovely villas! The trend at the time was for 'sugar cube' houses, but we wanted something a bit different, so we used wood and traditional terracotta roof tiles to give them character. The views from The Beachcombers are superb - looking out over Navarone Bay, with the cliffs to the right. The photos just don't do it justice. We never tire of the view of the sea - it varies in shades of blue according to time of day and weather conditions. At night, especially with the moon shining across it, it is beautiful.

Special interest holidays:

The Beachcombers are ideally located for those celebrating weddings at St Pauls Bay, only a short drive away. Large groups of guests can rent more than one villa, providing accommodation for up to 24. A lovely location for any large family celebration - wedding, birthday, anniversary.

Early booking recommended.

The nearest beach is down in Navarone Bay, less than 10 minutes walk. It is a very pretty sandy beach, not overcrowded. Lindos, about 2 minutes away by car, has 3 sandy beaches, including the very beautiful St Paul's Bay. Pefkos, 2 minutes drive to the south, has several sandy beaches. It is a very popular family resort. Watersports are available at Pefkos and Lindos. There are many lovely beaches to be found along this coast - we hope you will enjoy discovering them!

Rhodes is served by Diagoras, a large, modern airport, with Charter flights in summer from most European countries. There are also several scheduled flights per day connecting Rhodes with Athens and other islands. There is a busy port, with ferry services to the mainland and passenger services to the nearby islands of Symi and Kos, and Marmaris in Turkey. There are plenty of taxis at the airport, in Lindos and in Rhodes town. The nearest local bus stop is 5 minutes walk from the properties.

The Beachcombers are about 45 minutes drive from the airport. Car hire can be arranged airport -airport at reasonable rates. Lindos and Pefkos are only a few minutes drive away, the historic Old Town of Rhodes about an hour's drive away. The port is located in the town. The Valley of Butterflies is about an hour's drive, Seven Springs about 40 minutes drive.

Further Details:

There are plenty of shops, small supermarkets and banks in Lindos and Pefkos, and larger stores in Vlicha and Rhodes Town. Greeks love their food, and you will find tavernas serving delicious traditional dishes in most villages. We have some favourites we would be happy to recommend!

In larger resorts, there is a good choice of different cuisines, and every style from formal dining to take-away.

Many of the beaches offer water sports. The southern tip of the island, where the two seas meet across a sand bank, has become very popular not only for wind surfing and kite surfing, but also for sight-seeing and walking.

For youngsters, there is a large Water Park near Faliraki, also a fairground with a Big Wheel. Pefkos has Mini Golf and Go-Karting.

Those who enjoy walking will find delightful walks in the mountains, and some stunning views. Those interested in history will find a wealth of ancient architectural sites around the island. Lindos itself is an ancient village, one of the most photographed places in the world. It has a specially romantic atmosphere after dark, when you can sit in lovely courtyard restaurants and enjoy local dishes. The area where The Beachcombers are located was itself designated an area of outstanding natural beauty by UNESCO in the 1990s. Having lived on the island for over 30 years, we can give the best advice about what to see and do and where to eat, but there are still places even we have not yet discovered!

From the Owner

Being just between the villages, The Beachcombers are away from the crowds, but easily accessible. We are lucky to have a good bus service, with a bus stop just a short walk away. Plenty of taxis pass by as well, so you can be in Lindos or Pefkos within a few minutes, even without a car. What is special about these villas is the pools - we know from listening to our guests how important the pools are, especially in hot weather. These are larger than average pools, fully tiled, and with modern cleaning systems. Children will play happily for hours in the water, and if they are happy, Mum and Dad usually are, too! We included hydro-massage spas with the pools, because we think Mums & Dads deserve a bit of pampering as well.

  • Notes on accommodation: Each villa is equipped with remote controlled air conditioning, plus an energy saving solar panel which will provide up to 200 litres of hot water per hour. The Lindos area is normally one of the hottest on the island in summer, with temperatures often in the high 30s. The air conditioning units also have a heating function, should you require it, but usually the climate is perfect for enjoying the outdoors - the pool, the BBQ and the beautiful sea views. Outside: The villas stand on a generous private plot, fenced and accessed via an electric r/c gate for vehicles and a lockable pedestrian gate, offering an extra degree of security. A paved driveway behind each house provides ample parking space close to main doors, and there is extra parking space inside the gate for up to 4 vehicles. Each villa has a large garden, but the extra large grounds of Pebble and Sandpiper provide more space for children to play. The pools are 1.40 metres deep at their deepest point. They are in a figure 8 shape, 10 metres long, 6 metres wide (not including spa). The Spas are big enough for 6 to sit comfortably. There is an outdoor shower close to each pool. All pools benefit from modern filtration/chlorination sytems to ensure high standards of hygiene. The pools and spas are illuminated to make an enchanting picture after dark. Each villa has a BBQ, so guests can also enjoy cooking and eating outdoors on warm summer evenings.
