An information pack containing details of the local towns, restaurants, bars and amenities is available in the apartment. Share our knowledge of the place we love and have made our home. We are a semi-retired professional couple who have

dreamt of living in Italy for over twenty years and finally realised our dream by buying Villa Castelletta in 2007. We have converted the Ground Floor of our Casa Colonica, a traditional Le Marche farmhouse, into a self-contained apartment, whilst we live on the top two floors. Now we are in the happy position to share our love of Italy and its lifestyle with our guests.

Beautiful, peaceful setting

We were so impressed by the villa and the owners that we have booked to go back next year!

The villa is well equipped with the all important wifi (which you can plug in outside to get teenagers out of the house and into the pool area). Villa is located in a peaceful area with picturesque mountain topped villages nearby.

Linda and Antony are perfect hosts, in hand if you need anything but not intrusive.

Pool is great with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas, there is a selection of inflatables you can use too.

Cant wait until next year!

A little piece of paradise

On the whole, we do not generally leave feedback but in this case we feel we can share our views so that others can go and experience it as well. As a family of 5, we can collectively say we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Whilst finding it peaceful and restful there was always something we could do and the facilities provided at the apartment were excellent. In short it ticked all our boxes, whilst my husband and I were generally relaxing around and sometimes in the pool, my 3 sons, 16, 18 and 21 yrs, were entertaining themselves enjoying the variety of equipment provided, exclusive use of the pool or taking advantage of the extensive range of DVD's and Wifi. Even the 'welcome basket' surpassed expectations and Linda's home made carrot cake is to die for. You could not wish for better 'hosts' than Linda and Tony, always at hand if help or advice was needed, like booking a restaurant but never intrusively so. As the apartment is tucked away in the middle of the countryside it is safe to say that if you are looking for a busy, active holiday with plenty of nightlife, this is probably not for you. However, Le Marche has its fair share of beauty be it in the form of rolling hillside or historical walled towns and villages perched on the top of those rolling hills, so there is plenty to see. Thoroughly recommended, we would definitely go again.

A fantastic holiday house!

This is the third time we have stayed at Villa Castelletta, and it seems to get better every time. I can't emphasise how tranquil and beautiful this place is. The region is full of hidden treasures and really demonstrates the best of forgotten Italy.

The appartment is great and generous for four people. The garden and pool are sheer bliss. Tony and Linda remain generous and welcoming hosts, who just offer help as requested.

We visited Urbino in the north which was truly wonderful - packed with Renaissance art and history. We also had fun geocaching in random local villages. All in all a great holiday.

Lovely location, great pool & very friendly owners

The house was immaculate with everything you could want. The welcome pack including home made bread and cake was fantastic. The grounds were well kept and the pool was lovely and clean. Tony and Linda couldn't have been more helpful and were friendly yet discreet. We had car trouble and they helped us out no end. The area is interesting, particularly Cingoli, which we loved. All in all a great stay and highly recommended!

Wonderful house in stunning location

Our first family holiday in Italy and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The house is ideal and we all really loved the pool (especially our girls of 11 & 9). We found it so relaxing just lounging around, surrounded by sunflower fields and enjoying the lovely weather. The girls loved exploring the onsite vineyard too,

The house has everything you need for 4, including 2 showers (a definite bonus)... as well as a very comfortable sofa bed that was used when the parents came over for a week (flying into Ancona, 1 hr drive).

The owners Linda and Tony were so friendly and welcoming - as well as being able to recommend everything from restaurants to local shops. They live in the top apartment and it was actually very nice to have them onsite for a chat and some advice.

They will be able to advise on places to go, but if you've got kids don't miss the waterpark (less than 10mins away) - it's brilliant, the girls really enjoyed.

It's a long drive down to Marche but well worth it.. this is authentic Italy (we saw one English car the entire time) and we can't recommend this property highly enough.

Perfect holiday in Villa Casteletta, Cingoli (I)

We stayed at Villa Castaletta for 10 days and we had a wonderful holiday. The appartment is spacious and well-equipped. In the kitchen you find everything you can possibly think of. The whole house is very clean and well-maintained. Outside terrace is perfect too, with a lovely view on sunflowers and the rolling hills. The pool is absolutely fantastic, very big, clean and with all the inflatables you need. The garden is soooo beautiful with the fruit trees, the flowers, the vineyard, the big tree providing shade when you want to read or have a nap outside. There's sun beds with parasols if you like to go sunbathing. All is in perfect order. We had two teenage girls with us and we had a super time, despite the heatwave with very high temperatures (even for the locals). Tony and Linda are just fantastic, so welcoming, helpful, discreet. When you arrive, you will find essentials cooled in the fridge (very welcome after a long trip in the car), a freshly baked bread. And they even remembered my birthday and Linda baked a delicious chocolate cake. Thanks again, Linda. There's loads to see if you want to drive, but for us it was just too hot. We enjoyed staying at the house with our books and have the occasional plonge in the pool ;-). The information pack is very handy and elaborate. Therefore a well-derserved five star rating ! One small point of advice maybe for Tony and Linda. You might want to consider one or two fans to put in the bedrooms. Give the cats Carina and Sienna a big cuddle !

Lying on the eastern side of Central Italy between the Apennines and the Adriatic, Le Marche (pronounced ‘markay’), is becoming the destination for holidaymakers seeking out the real Italy. Where else can you admire masterpieces of renaissance art and architecture, trek over picturesque mountains, search out simple yet delicious food and wine or relax on fine beaches. Le Marche has all of these without the hassle of mass tourism and is blessed with local people who welcome stranieri (foreigners). With a daily direct flight to Ancona from Stansted with Ryanair there has never been a better time to discover Italy’s best kept secret.

Coast/Beach:

The Adriatic Coast has many large resorts with vast expanses of beaches. Monte Conero and its beaches Sirolo and Portonuova however are untypical Le Marche bathing resorts (40km). Nestling under the high Monte Conero are beautiful rocky coves and limestone cliffs unlike any other stretch of the Adriatic coast.

Travel:

The daily direct flight to Ancona (40km from the villa) from London Stansted with Ryanair combined with car hire (essential) opens up our area and allows you to relax at our Villa and explore Le Marche at your leisure. Full instructions of how to find us will be provided with your booking confirmation. There are also flights from Nottingham East Midlands to Rimini (approximately one and a half hours drive). The Rome airports are four hours drive away.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The ground floor apartment which sleeps up to 6 people is very spacious (approx 90 square metres), decorated to a high standard and has gas central heating throughout (optional extra not included in price). There are two bedrooms, one has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and the other has two single beds that can be secured together to make a double. There is also a second bathroom with a shower. The comfortable lounge has a double sofa bed and a TV/DVD player. The large kitchen has a cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and a washing machine as well as a table and six chairs. Outside: Twenty metres outside the apartment is the 9 x 5 metre shared pool with panoramic views of the countryside with sunbeds and sunshades provided. There is a shaded outdoor eating area right outside the apartment with a table and chairs and lots of quiet places in the large garden, orchard and vineyard (5,000 squares metres, 1¼ acres) to relax in. A large barbecue is also available for guests to use. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment is cleaned on a weekly basis and fresh bedlinen and towels are provided. Pool towels are available for hire at a minimal cost.
