Guestbook comments from the owner

"We had a super week, apt comfy and we all managed to stay friends even with our 15 yr old sleeping on the sofa bed! It was great to be so close to the beach for BBQs. Liz".

"We were so pleased with the apt. It's absolutely gorgeous. despite the bad weather we couldn't help but have a great time. Its in such a great position, we just wandered down to the beach or to the blue bar. We would definitely love to use it again and will be recommending it. Mai".

"We were all very pleased with the accom and it's position. In fact my husband is keen for another short break there next year and he is hard to please! We visited several nearby places and our dog Millie was able to experience the beach at Perranporth which she loved... thanks, Katherine"

"Thank you so much, we had a fantastic week. Surfsounds was lovely and certainly lives up to it's name, the location is really wonderful. There was everything wanted for a week away & the milk and biscuits were very welcome." Deana

Comfortable, relaxing home. Great beach & sea view

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Surfsounds. As soon as you entered the property you could see into the apartment an inviting beach through the balcony windows. Already before that when you drive into the village and the car park adjacent to the apartment building you are greeted by the sight and sound of the beach and the sea! And what a wonderful beach and view – we can’t imagine ever tiring of it! It was great being in a home where everything was as one would want and it was obvious this apartment was being let by people who love this place as a home. All information provided was usefully pinned on a notice board in the kitchen, book and also very thoughtfully throughout the apartment there were helpful notices in just the right spots. Good wifi was provided too. Outside there was a storage box with body boards, some children’s beach toys and a wind breaker. The RNLI do a fantastic job during the season providing daily life guards (until end of Sept) and we used them for info about tides etc so that we could allow for plenty of time to walk along the beach (at low tide) to the cove/beach at Chapel Porth (national trust, with loos and small café) and back to Porthtowan. You can do the same walk by walking on top of the cliffs – vast views. We found the apartment and its setting so relaxing we didn’t really want to venture out and explore the rest of this part of Cornwall! People go here to surf whatever the weather it seems and this in itself is a great spectacle to behold from the comfort of the balcony or from inside.

A wonderfully equipped homely apartment. Directly on the beach. So wonderful to have breakfast on the balcony watching the waves or a glass pf wine in the evening watching the sunset. Porthtowan is well placed for touring the rest of Cornwall.

We just love this apartment.

We stayed in June last year and came back again July this year, and will be going back again in October 2016 :) .

The apartment has everything that you would ever need and just has a lovely feel about it. Bob and Gilly are wonderful too and have been so lovely to deal with.

We hope this week to book our Jul 2017 stay which will of course be in this apartment :)

Thanks again and we cannot wait to come back already

Melissa and Ben xx

What a wonderful little cottage this is. So very cozy and with everything anyone could ever need, including hot water bottles! The balcony overlooking the beach was a wonderful retreat to sit on in the sun and have tea after a long day's walk along the coast path. The beach was lovely and the coast path almost right on the door step of the cottage. We enjoyed our week's stay here immensely. Anonymous

From the Owner

We love Cornwall, having spent many happy holidays in our camper surfing and playing in the sea. We rented an apartment in Porthtowan when our niece held her wedding reception in the Blue Bar. We were so taken with the apartment that my husband left notes with all the apartments asking if they wanted to sell - 18 months later we got the call, wow, how lucky is that. Its a fabulous spot in an unspoilt area of Cornwall and yet still handy for many attractions.
