Modern Apartment in 19th Century Villa

Updated: 12-Sep-2016
Apartment in Nice, Cote D'Azur, France - Close to All Amenities, 5 Minutes Walk to the Beach

This spacious apartment has a south facing living room with balcony overlooking a courtyard garden with lime, orange and lemon trees and north facing bedroom so there is a lovely through breeze during the summer months. It has a kitchen that comes fully equipped with everything you need for your stay and a very large slightly 'indulgent' bathroom with separate WC. The all important patisserie, shops, restaurants, museums, art galleries, banks, money exchange and supermarkets are a short stroll from the apartment. The airport buses (23 and 98) are a five minute walk from the apartment. The main railway station is a 10 minute walk if you are feeling adventurous and want to explore the beauty of the Cote d’Azur. If not head to the beach and enjoy the sun.

Clean, comfortable and completely Nicoise

  • 5 of 5

This has been our second stay in this great Nice apartment, a lovely quiet corner right in the centre of town, with the beach, galleries, restaurants, supermarkets, old quarter and parks all within easy walking distance. The apartment has a lovely comfy bed, a well equipped little kitchen, a luxury bathroom and a superb living room with a brilliant balcony overlooking trees and gardens. We had another really comfortable week here, with that famous Nice weather to add to the enjoyment.

An attractive, clean and comfortable apartment, nicely placed for getting into central Nice

  • 5 of 5

On getting to Nice airport we found that the number 98 bus, which we we planned to get to the apartment, had been cancelled due to strike action ! However fellow travellers advised us on alternative buses. The directions we were given to find Villa Jeannine were clear so we had no problem finding the apartment. Our 'greeter' Dorine was there to meet us and show us around the apartment which was up a flight of steps onto the first floor. We liked the apartment. It was airey, very clean and well equipped and perfect for two people. A nice, big bathroom with a shaver point. Plenty of towels too. A door from the lounge opened out onto a small balcony which overlooks a very verdant garden and, looking outwards, surrounding apartments. A nice place to relax. A short walk away is Blvd Gambetta (about 5 minutes) on which there are two supermarkets. We tended to use the Casino s'market for general goods like fresh milk, wine, bread and the Carrefour for bakery stuff..cakes, flans etc. It's a fairly short walk down to the attractive sea front at Promenade des Anglais. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the main railwat station and a 20-25 minute walk to Nice centre. The no.7 bus goes from near the apartment which will take you into the old town, well worth seeing, and the fare is only 1.50euros. Plenty of interesting places to get to. We visited Eze village, St Pauls and Vence, Cap Ferrat and the Rothschilds impressive pile and Monaco which, because it was Grand Prix set-up time was pretty chaotic. Travelling is very cheap. The buses and trams are 1.50euros so getting around is easy. All in all, a very nice holiday in a lovely area and a very pleasant 'home'. the weather was lovely incidentally.

Owner's Response: Thank you both for your review. I'm really pleased that you liked the apartment and it certainly seems that you made the most of your stay (and given me some more ideas). Do think of us again should you consider returning to Nice. All the best for now, Daniel.

Highly recommend this apartment as it had everything we look for on a break away.

The facilities were good and we thought it was excellent value for money in lovely Nice.

The location was perfect and it was so peaceful and quiet whilst only a short, easy walk to all of the main attractions of the promenade, beach, old town and especially the train station which we found great for visiting Monaco, Antibes and Cannes. We loved Nice itself and were so happy we chose to holiday here and in this apartment. It was lovely to return to after a day out exploring the area knowing I could enjoy the sunny balcony whilst my hubby could crash out on the settee watching all of the UK TV channels before we headed out in the evening for a lovely stroll for our evening meal.

As this apartment was a great "home from home" for us we would definately return to it and recommend you give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Expectations exceeded

  • 4 of 5

After many years exploring different parts of France , we have found a venue to which we would happily return. Daniel and Michael's flat is first class with all the facilities as described .My wife ,Claire, enjoys cooking so found the kitchen facilities enabled her to prepare a range of evening meals with ingredients from the local shops and markets.

An ideal location, quiet, and with a no 7 bus stop a few metres away in the Avenue des Fleurs, enabling easy visits to the shopping area, port, and main shopping street. The service provided by Dorine was also very helpful.

A tip ; to get to the flat from the airport , we prebooked a taxi through the EasyJet website . The £25 or thereabouts was money well spent ,and it only took 25 minutes or so from disembarking from the aeroplane to reach the Villa.

All in all, to use a West Country expression - " Proper Job "

Great flat great location wonderful holiday

  • 4 of 5

The flat is tres chic! It has all you need to emmerse yourself in the Nice lifestyle. It has a lovely bright lounge with double doors onto s small balcony that gets the sun late in the day. Wonderful place to read and drink wine!

The bedroom has a big comfy bed that gives you a good nights sleep but the best is the huge(in Nice terms) is the bathroom -with an actual bath and enough floorspace to have a dance in!

The kitche n has all you need for cookin but there is no need as there are plenty of places to eat for every purse.

If you want to relax, blend in and be nog too far away from the beach then this is the place. I think i may have to return to this flat😊⛵

This is our third time staying in this apartment, its bright, clean, sunny and very spacious, Daniel has, from our very first time, answered us promptly and gave us lots of useful information, it has the bonus of a small balcony where you can relax of an evening and enjoy a glass of wine or two. The location is

great the Promenade is just a short walk away and the Old Town is a 15mins stroll along the Promenade, it's also close to buses and trains to take you anywhere you might like to venture. We love it and hopefully we will be back

in 2016 all going well.

Anne and Donal .

From the Owner

We first visited Nice in 2006 while staying with friends in Menton and fell in love with the city. It's got a good transport system, cheap by UK standards, restaurants catering for all tastes, museums/art galleries plus great weather. We visited over 20 properties before deciding on our apartment. Many of those we saw could have been in any other city, nothing stood out. Our apartment offers loads of natural light, high ceilings, a small balcony and is centrally located. One guest described it as an oasis of calm with everything you need for a really enjoyable holiday.
